Ben Carson’s new calling: Inspire 25M Christian voters to get to the polls in November

by Jennifer Harper  |  published on May 7, 2016

Though he dropped out of the White House race in March, former GOP hopeful Ben Carson is not quite done with the election.

“One of the primary reasons I ran for president was to help restore the Judeo-Christian values that made America great. Right now, they are either in decline or facing a full-on assault. While I won’t be leading this revival from the Oval Office, I’ve decided to continue on with this mission,” Mr. Carson said.

His new calling is a closely targeted grass-roots outreach called My Faith Votes, which has the support of such prominent Christian pastors as Chuck Swindoll and David Jeremiah.

“The immediate goal of My Faith Votes is simple — get the 25 million registered Christians who did not vote in 2012 to the polls this November,” says Mr. Carson. “We face very serious challenges regarding our growing national debt and First Amendment rights of civil and religious liberty — but we do not have to play defense. When Christians vote, their faith transforms the future.”

Anyone that defends the Clinton’s is a disgrace to their own humanity and should never be allowed to vote for anything. And, speaking of voting I think that if someone is on welfare or any type of government assistance they should not be allowed to vote. That in itself would clean up a lot of the problems we have in this country with crooked politicians at the state and federal levels.
Also, I think it is time for term limits on congress, both houses. Two 6 year terms for the senate and extend the house to a 4 year term with a limit of 3 for 12 years total. At the end of the 12 years a senator and representative packs up and goes home with NO PENSION & NO BENEFITS WHATSOEVER. Why should the taxpayers of this country be stuck with paying sometimes for 20, 30 or even 40 or more years for some politician. Also, these same political hacks should be prevented by law from leaving office and going over to K Street and becoming a lobbyist.

And he supports the vulgar, lying, abortion and perversion supporting, serial adulterer Donald Trump? Is this a joke?

Friends:: You know what? I am 86 as I told you before. I became a Born Again Christian at a very young age ~ at the age of 80 I became an Ordained minister, We have a place called God’ Space~it is in our home right now as we are planning to move shortly and then I will have a special place. I am a sinner ~ saved by the Grace of my God. And I don’t really feel like fussing is so appropriate right now what with our world in such a mess. WHAT THE WORLD NEEDS NOW IS GOD’S LOVE. So I believe much time is spent on nothing but empty words. I feel we need to spend a lot of time on our Knees asking God to show us how to Love as He has asked us to Love. I believe our talking to each other (We being God’s creation ) makes us His Children and evidently we are of a Royal Family. Why can’t we just get along? And I know you have heard that from a fellow who was desperately asking. He needed understanding and he probably without a doubt needed Love. We need to be sharing God’s Love in this day and time. I Seigel, I don’t know a lot about political stuff and I do and am asking God to give me the right person to elect as President, I truly feel God did call Ben Carson and His wife, Candy to be our President, (still would love a MIRACLE) I do believe in miracles ~ you will know about the ones that I have had in my life if you get a chance to read my book when I get it finished. The title is “I Was Born In A Crows Nest” and you have my name when I post. Now let me ask you all ~ Please~ pray before you speak, try to help someone along this rocky road we are traveling on ~ Be especially kind and those of you I have listened to here or followed your Posts I know you could turn it into helpful messages if you just tried hard enough. https://uploads.disquscdn.com/images/5a569893a2d97cf1bb3134f97ba62147cd97e7613bb94b8184daa381da20a4cd.jpg

I am sick and tired of stupid democrats that think Hillary is equal to the Virgin Mary. Wake up you idiots an believe even half of the stuff that has come out about this lying bitch over the last 15-20 years. Do yourself a favor, wake up and see the truth before your idiocy destroys us all.

  • helensatmary

I question of DR Carsons support of Trump if he ran to support Christian values. Trump has NO idea of those values nor would he care about them!

  • Natalie

Ben Carson is absolutely right. Christians have remained silent for far to long. I do not understand how we could have let things get this bad in the first place. If we don’t do something soon it will be to late. I really hope Dr Carson finds a place in the Trump administration.

    • I Seigel

I think you have it exactly backwards. Christians have been far too vocal for too long, ever since the Reagan years and before, when Ralph Reed led the Christian Coalition. He quit that job and took a job with the GOP. The Republicans brought the entire evangelical movement into their party. But the real problem is that the traditional beliefs of the Republican Party – small government, less intrusion into people’s lives – is opposite that of the Evangelicals, which wants government intrusion into MANY aspects of people’s lives – gay marriage and abortion being just 2 of them. So Evangelicals and Christians never really belonged in the Republican Party in the first place – they were just using Christians to gain votes, while not really believing in what Christians wanted.
And the GOP is now finding out the same thing on economic matters – the Party’s ideas of free trade and lower taxes on the wealthy, and repealing Obamacare aren’t the same values that Trump voters have. Trump supporters want LESS free trade, fair taxes on everyone and they want their health care taken care of.

Christians and Evangelicals need their own party.

We now a Moses and Aaron taking over. Trump=Moses and Carson=Aaron one lead the children of Israel the their first high priest.

I like Dr.Carson views and values I think with Mr. Trumps leadership and Ben Carsons experience to interact with the working people will surely help make America great again as far as the Clintons are concerned nothing worse could happen to this country if Hillary Clinton go in office she only seeks personal gain for her self I cant even fathom that she even be considered for the position with here and her husbands colorful and corrupt past, I have not problem with a woman in office I do have a problem a dishonest self centered power happy person wanting the position to run who truly has proved to our country is in no way shape or form deserving to even represent this country.
Criminals have been in office for to long just look at Ct. for instance mayors past governers who have been indited locked up get released and allowed back in political positions to represent the people.
Come on America it is time to get our act together and stop this BS in no other country would this be allowed so for Gods sake lets stop it a.s.a.p. and make America great again.

    • I Seigel

Ben Carson has experience interacting with the working people?!?!? Come again now??

  • Joellen Wortham

I agree they have taken our faith away or at least tried it’s time to through Muslim faith back at them not in the sense that we are the only faith but in the sense that they aren’t either if they want to take over America and Obama thinks that is the only faith aloud time to put a stop to them even being here this country was founded on Christian values and it’s Christian values that should stand strong time to stand for America and the hell with the rest

  • Georgia Hostetler

I feel it is going to be up to each of us to encourage Christians and others to vote this election as Good Americans should ~ we are all needed to get our ONE NATION UNDER GOD to survive ~~ Make sure you are registered to vote. We certainly need to get things right with Our Lord and Savior as we know things are getting worse continually ~ my slogan~ HANG TIGHT AND UNITE. ((DON’T FIGHT !)) WE THE PEOPLE ~ need you, Dr. Ben Carson.

  • barbarakelly

yes I agree. People this is going to be our last chance to correct all that has gone wrong. It is going to be do or die. Too many things are against us right now., so keep your fingers crossed an look up for inner help.!!!

  • ShemSilber

Good for Dr. Carson! Didn’t some of us say already a few weeks ago that a Trump-Carson ticket would be excellent? That would be a sure sign of mercy from Yahuwah Almighty, and we pray for the brakes to be put on the destruction that Pharaoh Barry and the puppeteers who pull his strings have foisted on us, in Yahushua’s (Jesus’) Name, omein!

  • uhptony

Dr. Carson has a noble and worthwhile agenda. All Americans who call themselves Christian should get behind this movement and vote as many democrats out of office as possible. Mr. Trump may not be the strongest Christian that could seek the office of president but he is 10, no 100 times better than Hillary. Look at what Trump has accomplished in his lifetime, a business empire that stretches around the world with thousands of employees. What has Hillary accomplished? For starters she was kicked off the Watergate committee because she was a liar and unethical. We still don’t have an accurate record from the Whitewater scandal or her billing records from the Rose law firm. Then how about Vince Foster? Did he really commit suicide or was he murdered in the W.H. and dumped in Fort Marcy Park? The truth of that never really came out. Then there were the IRS records of the Clinton’s political enemies found in the residential area of the W.H. As Secretary of State we have the consulate attack in Libia with the cover up and her statement, “what difference does it make?”. Then there is the question of her e-mail server. It has come out just this week that the server was hacked repeatedly. Another thing that needs to be thoroughly investigated is the Clinton Foundation. If this “charitable foundation” was truly on the up and up then why did they set up a separate foundation in Canada for the foreign potentates to dump millions in donations into? The money was then transferred to the New York foundation with no trace of where the donation originated. Much of this money came in while she was Secretary of State and I would like for some one to convince me that millions were donated and nothing was expected in return. This woman and her perverted excuse of a husband represent pure evil and must not be allowed back into the presidency.
Dr. Carson is right to pursue the Christian voters to go to the polls in mass this November.

    • I Seigel

You can echo all the “questions” you want, just like Trump did with his Birther idiocy. Time and again these “questions” have been investigated with absolutely no indication of criminal involvement or dereliction of duty by the Clintons. Kenneth Starr tried for years, with an unilimited budget and open-ended time frame to find guilt about Whitewater, Foster, etc. NADA!! George W had 8 years to conduct investigations of the Clintons. NADA. MANY Congressional investigations have not found ANY evidence of wrongdoing on Clinton’s part regarding Benghazi. Those are the actual FACTS. But you keep on with your conspiracy theories, just like all good birthers. Numbskull.

      • uhptony

You sound like a stupid democrat to me

        • I Seigel

Well, score one for you. You’re not quite as oblivious as you pretend to be.

        • Georgia Hostetler

uhptony You must be a # 1 carpenter ~ YOU HIT THE NAIL SMACK ON THE HEAD ~~good for you.

        • Anthony

now that’s not nice calling them stupid, just say they’re like a STAR that doesn’t give much light, yes they are not too bright

      • Eleanor Cummings

You still don’t get it, do you? Did you ever look up – Obama’s Kenyan Birth Certificate – and see where Hillary made a side trip to the UK in 2009 and got a copy? A couple of links to follow – interesting!

Deals were made as usual. But then something unexpected happened. Along comes Donald Trump who is NOT a professional politician. He is just a businessman who wants to fix the country and help the American people out who are totally frustrated with our government and its failures to perform in the best interests for us. He does not have to do this and take the hits he is taking. He does not have to put him and his family at risk from those who fear him. He wants to represent us and to do that, he is self funding his campaign and not taking donations from any of the power brokers and lobbyists who have strings to all of the others running for President. A wise man said “When a poor man gives to a politician it’s a donation When a rich man gives to a politician it’s an investment”. He cannot be bought!! He is a pragmatist, going at the problems and issues using just good common horse sense. His priorities are simple…protect us first by securing our borders and rebuilding our national defense, change the government policies that are suppressing our economy and putting more and more Americans out of work, fix the healthcare fiasco called Obamacare, streamline the federal government and cut uncontrolled government borrowing and spending.
He is not against immigration…except if it is ILLEGAL immigration. He is not a racist or bigot as there is nothing in his background that he has done to confirm any of these claims.
He will take care of the terrorists that are out to get us and will do what is necessary in spite of the current over zealous political correctness. He will give back States Rights, and parents will have a say on what their children are taught in the schools. He is one of us not one of the current political establishments who continue to screw up our country. He is scaring both political establishments because he is a no nonsense and smart man who will expose the corruption within DC that has been screwing the American taxpayers for decades.
We need someone like Trump in the Whitehouse…not another Clinton.. who is a total mess…inept…and corrupt/lying politician. Come on people it is obvious who we should vote for in this election cycle.

Trump came out of the private sector to run for President when he didn’t have to. Did Trump need the money, NO, did Trump need the fame, NO, did Trump need the power, NO, then why would someone, that did not have to, come out of the private sector and to subject themselves to all of the horrific attacks against him and his family?? Because he loves America and he loves and respects the American people. That to me is someone who is humble and not self serving. I stand for Trump. He has my vote!

        • I Seigel

I’ll respond to the first 2 of your ideas.

          1. There is no “Kenyan Birth Certificate”. If Hillary could go to the UK to get a copy, why haven’t the German press, Putin’s aids, Kim Jong-Un’s henchmen, the Kenyan government, or Breibart? Why wasn’t it plastered all over every newspaper and magazine and website in the world? Why didn’t Snowden release it? And don’t tell me the entire world is in on this coverup. That’s such a convenient, moronic excuse. But I know you won’t spend one second allowing any of these ideas to be a possibility, so you go right on ahead believing in these idiotic, disproven conspiracy theories. Why not spend some of your time looking up Cruz’s father’s connection to the Kennedy assassination? Which was first “reported” in the National Enquirer.

          2. Trump hasn’t spent a lot of his own money during the campaign until now. He’s gotten a YUGE amount of free press, and he knows how to use Twitter. But he’s already said that he has no intention of financing a general election campaign. He WILL need the Republican Party fundraising machine – or other sources, other SuperPACs – to carry on against Clinton. And the press keeps promising to be a lot tougher on examining his “policies”, so we’ll see how much more he’s willing to expose himself to CNN and the Today Show.

          3. OK, 1 more. He “chose” to run for president? He didn’t need the money? WHAT??!!?? Every candidate CHOOSES to run – they’re not blackmailed into it, or forced into it. And you don’t do all this grinding campaigning for the hope of winning a job that pays $450,000 (or so) a year. What kind of BS are you shoveling here??!!?? Have you really drunk THAT much Kool-Aid??!!?? People campaign for office for POWER and EGO. The money comes much later, in the form of books, lecture circuits, consultancy and lobbying fees. You’re pathetically naïve if you think these people are fighting over a salary.
And there’s NO ONE more into POWER and EGO than Trump. His victory speeches that I’ve sat thru have all been about how much he won by, his ratings, delegate counts, how women love him, how much Hispanics love him. It’s all a big TV show to him – THAT’S his payoff right now. Listen to his next victory speech and you’ll see.

          • Eleanor Cummings

            1. Go back, pull up some of Hillary’s speeches prior to2012. She came out with the “birthing” first, then suppressed it. Read the links below. I’m only sending 3 but there’s many more. I’m sure your questions will be answered.
            http://thedailypen.blogspot.com/2012/07/obamas-kenyan-birth-records-discovered.html
            http://www.apfn.org/apfn/obamas-birth-certificate.htm

            http://thepowerhour.com/news4/obama_kenyan_birth_certificate.htm

            2. Hell no, Trump hasn’t spent a lot of his own money during the campaign. The anti- Trumpsters did that for him!! And they’ll continue to do that. The funding will go to the RNC/GOP, not to Trump himself. Read the whole thing!!! The general election is to get the REPUBLICAN’S in office, and yes, Trump is their nominee!!
All the mainstream liberal media channels have been lying to us for years. One man commented: THE MEDIA IS OWNED by SIX CORPORATIONS who also OWN ALL OF THE PROFESSIONAL CAREER POLITICIANS – the mainstream media is a military weapon of brain washing. Check these out:
            free press( dot).net/ownership/chart
            businessinsider (dot).com/these-6-corporations-control-90-of-the-media-in-america-2012-6
(I opened the above links to check it out.Yep, he’s right!! Lots of details – mind boggling.)

AND HAVE YOU FOROTTEN, (OR DID YOU EVEN KNOW) THE MEDIA IS IN OBAMA’S POCKET??!!

ABC News executive producer Ian Cameron is married to Susan Rice, National Security Adviser.
ABC News correspondent Claire Shipman is married to former Whitehouse Press Secretary Jay Carney
ABC News and Univision reporter Matthew Jaffe is married to Katie Hogan, Obama’s Deputy Press Secretary
ABC President Ben Sherwood is the brother of Obama’s Special Adviser Elizabeth Sherwood
CBS President David Rhodes is the brother of Ben Rhodes, Obama’s Deputy National Security Adviser for Strategic Communications.
CNN President Virginia Moseley is married to former Hillary Clinton’s Deputy Secretary Tom Nides.

I think someone on the Washington POST may have some ties to the Obama administration. And now we must add The New York Times to this list. Is FOX NEWS going to follow them? We’ll have to monitor their “fair and unbiased” reporting, then decide whether they’re worth watching, but the above media should be considered bought-and-paid for – by Obama.
And now you know why it is no surprise THE MEDIA IS IN OBAMA’S POCKET. Think there might be a little bias in the news? This may also explain the cover up of Benghazi, etc., etc., etc., etc., etc., etc., etc.,…….. And the fact that Hillary will walk away from her scandals and treasonous acts scot free!
And now they are working very hard to keep the people from electing Trump into office. Will we, the people, fall for all this liberal BS they’re pushing at us?? Time will tell. Albert Einstein once said: “Intelligence has it’s limits but STUPIDITY HAS NO LIMIT!!” Judging by the majority of the voters, I do think most Americans are FINALLY waking up!!
            3. And like every other candidate he CHOSE to run. He will do like JFK and eschew the presidential “salary” ad Air force One will be retired for awhile. He and family will finance their own flying and vacations. Oh, yes! Melania will buy her and hers son’s clothes without billing the American people. Trump wants to support his own family. Book writing?? He’s already an author and evidently sells well. How did you ever miss this information??

            4. “There’s NO ONE more into POWER and EGO than Mr. Trump”??? What you take ago and bragging is actually self-confidence because he knows he’s got the American people awakened and aware of what’s going on in the cesspool of corruption that is our government!

Why don’t YOU try doing some of this researching yourself instead of waiting for others to do it for you?? Quite a few of us do our own research so that people like you who don’t like what we find can make their nasty remarks. I don’t like finding out negative stuff about a favored candidate (Cruz), but it got posted, if you’ll read back on my previous postings.
No, I won’t argue the research facts I and other find, but just state facts the way I see them, the same as you and everyone on this site is entitled to do. But one statement I will make is this – “Any man (or woman) running for ANY office in this land, no matter how famous or “good” they are, if running as a democrat be sure they will be able to count my vote as against them”! My parents had been democrats, so for many years I was also. But that changed after I got a computer and did my own research! I definitely don’t rely on our lying liberal media.

          • I Seigel

Geez, Eleanor, these are your sources for “news”? A BLOG by a right-winger? You know what a blog is? It’s a website that anyone can put up so that he or she can voice an opinion about something. And the others commenting on his blog – they’re chiming in about Kennedy assassination conspiracy theories, etc. The apfn website you list next? They’re just repeating the blog story in the first example, the blog by Sam Sewell. It’s the right-wing echo chamber in all its glory. The powerhour website? Just more of the same nonsense, which no other news organization – except more right-wing blogs – thought was newsworthy. Show me where this same stuff is printed in a national newspaper from ANY country, and I’ll pay attention.

And you didn’t answer my question: Why hasn’t ANY other country also come up with this information, since it was so easy for Hillary to “get a copy”?

And it still comes down to this: HOW LONG ARE YOU GOING TO HARP ON THIS STUPIDITY? OBAMA HAS 8 MONTHS LEFT, HE’S NOT GOING TO BE IMPEACHED. WHAT DIFFERENCE DOES IT MAKE NOW??????!!!!!!

Research? I like to do my own research to. But like I’ve said previously – you’re entitled to your own opinions, you’re not entitled to your own facts.

          • Eleanor Cummings

This last question alone shows you didn’t bother to check out the links. You can’t say everyone is “right wing” on the birth issue and you’re the one who is right!! $$$ made it possible for Hillary to “get a copy”!!
No, I won’t argue the research facts I and others find, but I’ll just state facts the way I see them, the same as you and everyone on this site is entitled to do. You didn’t open those links I sent you in such a short time.
(WHAT DIFFERENCE DOES IT MAKE NOW?) That Siegel, remains to be seen, doesn’t it now?? That comment alone told me who and what you are.

Hillary is paying out $1M for her new batch of internet trolls. If it walks like a duck ……………..??

And I see the pointlessness of responding to willful narrow-mindedness and stupidity. So we both agree not to waste our time anymore….

          • I Seigel

By the way Eleanor, did you see in yesterday’s news that Trump is now going to ask the Republican Party to help finance his general election campaign? Were you wrong when you said he wasn’t taking money from donors?

    • Pamela Sellarole

I couldn’t have said it better. And about Vince Foster, rumour had it years ago that he was killed to cover up an alleged affair with Killary. Would you really want such a stellar representative as the Clintons of Family Values back in the White House? I think not. They’re about as family oriented as an elephant in a tutu would be a ballerina. (My apologies to all pachyderms.) We need a good wholesome family to represent what America us all about, not a pair of flaming libertines.who completely disregard every aspect of the foundation on which America was built.

      • helensatmary

Yes, what we need is a GOOD WHOLESOME FAMILY which is NOT Killary or Trump….Neither suggest a wholesome family!!
Nor do they represent a Christian family! Neither of God!

        • Eleanor Cummings

You sure haven’t done research on Trump have you? Are you of the belief that if you go to a church every day, even, and loudly proclaim you are a Christian that makes you one? No, not anymore than if you sat in a hospital everyday would you be a surgeon! Trump doesn’t have cameras and the media around when he gives help where needed. I am Christian and I know Jesus is my Savior, but I don’t attend any “organized” church, nor do I consider myself a Methodist, Mormon, Baptist or any other religion. I belong to GOD. I read the Catholic and also the protestant bibles, and although I can tell you what’s in these bibles, can I quote chapter and verse to show everyone what a “good Christian” I am?? NO! Why then, should I expect Mr. Trump to do so?? How many of those other politicians out there can?? I mispronounce lots of words from the bible, but GOD can read my mind and heart. I don’t need someone judging how strong my faith is, and neither does Mr. Trump. My gut instinct tells me he is more Christian than many of his detractors are purporting to be. My vote is for Donald J. Trump!!!

          • helensatmary

A man who says he has NEVER asked Gods forgiveness for his sins is NOT a Christian!!! That is utter ignorance and consideration of God

          • Eleanor Cummings

God has not mad you anyone’s judge yet, has He?? As He said, “Judge not lest ye be judged and found wanting!” There’s also a quote about being self-righteous, is there not??

          • Anthony

I read it, and I thought you were talking about myself, I talk to Jesus every single day and pray, love His Word, have 3 priests in the family bigger sinners then I, I don’t go to church. God knows who I am, and yes my vote is also for Donald J. Trump

    • RadioFreeKansas

Rumors and innuendo, that’s all you really have here. I don’t like Hillary either, but here’s a fact: Trump is an egotistic TV (un)reality show host/lecherous beauty pageant owner/real estate developer who has used the bankruptcy courts at least 3 times to stay afloat. Out of the circus clown car full of candidates the republican party had this year THIS is the last person standing? Will Carson really get many Christians to vote for Trump? Remember John McCain in 2000? He said the religious right were agents of intolerance. A couple of years later there he was handing out diplomas at Jerry Falwell’s college in Virginia. Right then I knew he was going to run for President again and couldn’t be trusted. (Sarah Palin, anyone?) Republicans talk a good game when it comes to trying to attract Christian voters, but when it comes right down to caring for the poor, the sick, the disabled, widows and orphans, their votes go the other way. Looks like I’ll be voting my conscience (3rd party) again.

      • Melvin Griffin

        goodbye, we won’t miss you

      • Eleanor Cummings

You got your information from the liberal mainstream media and anti-Trump speeches, same as I did at first. Try researching him like I did. Now the liberal mainstream media are working very hard to keep the people from electing Trump into office. They will run every negative story about this man that they can, but will not run the good he’s done for many who have come forward with how he’s help them and others, without fanfare But the media will not ever print anything like that!! You will vote as you will, but please, look this up. All the mainstream liberal media channels have been lying to us for years. THE MEDIA IS OWNED by SIX CORPORATIONS who also OWN ALL OF THE PROFESSIONAL CAREER POLITICIANS – the mainstream media is a military weapon of brain washing. Check these out:

Hello? If Trump is a Christian at all, he keeps it well hidden. He supports abortion (planned parenthood), perversion (LGBT bathroom rules), he is an admitted serial adulterer and proud of it. Really, Dr. Carson? Really uhptony

So you would rather have a lying, thriving & possibly a murderer as president? And what about the perverted disgrace for a man her husband is. She has & still enables him to abuse and rape women. You democrats are disgusting!

        • Betty Gross

Trump is also a perverted disgrace.

          • uhptony

Betty Gross you are just a damn democrat!

  • Jo Ann Cooper

GOOD for you, Dr. Carson! I heard you say during your campaign that political correctness was killing our country. I couldn’t agree more. I just heard that criminals & felons aren’t to be called those derogatory names! Excuse me?

  • pmbalele

I would never listen to Dr. Carson. Dr. Carson was an embarrassing as an African-American male. This guy attacked Obamacare when many African-Americans did not have access to preventive medication. He was trying to buddy with GOP a racist group. However, they loved him for attacking Obamacare. But I guess Dr. Carson did not hear what his friend, Trump said about Obamacare. Trump said he would make sure every American has health insurance and access to preventive medication. Trump would have “One-Payer System” like in Canada and England. Trump is a Caucasian-American who wants all Americans to have access to med services and here is Carson an African-American who does not want to have the right as Caucasian-Americans. Thank God Carson lost. We Blacks would be in trouble under his admin if he became President. That’s how God punishes those who oppress others for money.

    • SDofAZ

We know already that you don’t like Carson, go away troll.

    • Cherie Lynn Davis

I guess you are unaware of the fact that hidden in the Affordable Care Act is a provision that says you must pay back every cent the government has spent on your Rx, long-term health care or home care you have received through Medicare or Medicaid when you die. If you do not have a darned good insurance policy when you die, the IRS will come after payment and they will get it one way or another. If this debt cannot be repaid, they will put a lien on your property, confiscate your bank account and savings or as a last resort, make your family pay the debt. There are many insidious requirements like this in Obamacare and when the full truth is finally revealed, I’d like to hear what you will have to say then! Dr. Carson had a good idea for health care in that each individual would be given a health care account at birth and rather than paying into a government program, you would be in charge of that account throughout your life by paying into it throughout your working career. If any money remained in that account upon your death, it could be passed on to your family. At some point, we need to get the government out of our lives wherever possible and start managing our own destinies!

      • pmbalele

I do not think you re-read what your posting. First, you said about events after dying. When I die I don’t give a darn what IRS does with whatever is left. Relatives? They are suckers- just read how they are now fighting on Prince money. They are killing one another for somebody’s money. Then you said Dr. Carson wanted each person to be assigned a health account – by whom – by the government? But you said Carson wanted the government out of your life. Where is the logic there- a contradiction. Carson was acting like a slave – buddying with Repubs and TPs who treated him as an Affirmative Action candidate for the WH job. You have to fight for WH job. Obama fought and won 2 times. Trump fought and won the GOP nomination. But dumb Repubs and TPs are still fighting him. I have no idea why Repubs and TPs are fighting Trump; I guess for being a White male. GOP is a racist group. Now Repubs and TPs want Carson to be Secretary of Health Department-from WH candidate to a worker as Secretary-and he seems to love it. We may as well have Hillary as the only candidate. After all Hillary is more experienced than Trump or any of these primitive Repubs and TPs who are disowning their candidate because he is a White male. I was ashamed of what Dr. Carson stood for. Thank God he lost.

        • Cherie Lynn Davis

I said we should try to get the government out of our lives wherever possible. I didn’t say to do away with it completely. It has grown into a monstrous entity and is beginning to devour everything that moves and some that don’t. In other words, it is too big and needs to be pared down. They waste taxpayer money on boondoggle projects and their own selfish pork barrel interests. When is “Big,” big enough? At government’s present pace, they will be taxing us until the working class has nothing to live on themselves! I guess my real question is, “What are they going to do when they run out of everyone else’s money?” And I suppose we should just agree to disagree because our views are polar opposites, especially where Dr. Carson is concerned. He is an honorable and off the charts intelligent man, trying to help certain segments of society get off the plantation and gain self-respect for themselves and their families. And I am not referring to any one particular segment of society, but anyone who is able bodied and depends on the government to take care of them forever! Have you ever read any of his books? If not, you should!

          • pmbalele

Did you really say you didn’t say to do away with government completely! Then you’re not a Repub or TP. Those morons do not want the government in their lives. That is how we got 911, Boston and the cops killing Blacks. Now people are carrying guns everywhere faking are for their own protection. The same guns they own are killing them. Guns are good if you live near woods or in Africa where you can be attacked by lions or big snakes. You do not need a gun if you live in town. For what? We need the government. At least the following fear the government: racists, bigots, hypocrites; bad cops; corrupt people etc. I do not have a gun in my house; and I am comfortable with that.

          • PC Bob

The BEST government is the LEAST government! Face it, the government, today, IS the problem! They have solved bloody few of our problems, choosing, instead, to simply make them worse! The most feared words in the English language are: I’m from the government. I’m here to help.” As for guns; don’t even get me started on that!

          • I Seigel

If you want to try to get the government out of our lives wherever possible, then you probably want Congress to stop butting into women’s reproductive rights. Am I right? And government shouldn’t be subsidizing flood insurance – if people want to live by a river or coastline, they should insure their own homes, rather than mooch off the taxpayers. And government shouldn’t be subsidizing Monsanto, Cargill and Archer-Daniels-Midland – corn growers and other mega farmers don’t need crop subsidies, nor do the oil companies need subsidies or the coal companies. And they shouldn’t be obsessed with passing idiotic bathroom bills and anti-gay laws.
Are you with me on all these, Cherie?

          • Cherie Lynn Davis

I said the government is getting too big. At some point an impartial,
ad hoc committee should be set up to review what parts of government are needed to keep the machine running and which are causing engine trouble. I do not think it should be involved in every aspect of our lives. Yes, there are necessary segments of government that need to stay in place but there is so much waste going on! Streamline the spending, get rid of the waste and we will see a much more efficient machine with less taxes for the working class and businesses to pay. The final outcome will, be more jobs, with more people paying taxes. Another thing that really sticks in my craw is the government calling Social Security an entitlement. The government, under Lyndon Johnson, borrowed money from Social Security and was supposed to pay it back. Well, we have seen how that went. Instead of paying it back, it was reclassified as an entitlement. Entitlement, my foot!! It was stolen as far as I’m concerned. I paid into that fund for over 30 years so I can’t see how they can call it an entitlement! That is my money and if they had put it in a fund with my name on it, my husband, who is 75 by the way, wouldn’t have to work part time 3 days a week to make ends meet. And what happened to all the money that was never collected because the recipients died before they became eligible to collect? I believe the government should have to make good their debt, just like everybody else who borrows money!

          • I Seigel

The government borrowing from Social Security may have started with LBJ (I’ll have to check on that), but it certainly continued under EVERY president after him, all because Congress couldn’t pass tax increases or balance the budget any other way. The Cold War “forced” us to spend massively on the military, and instead of paying for that buildup with taxes, Congress borrowed from the SS Trust Fund.

Cherie, did you know that whatever crisis the Trust Fund faces today could be EASILY solved by simply removing the cap on incomes that are taxed? Did you know that everyone is taxed on their incomes, up to the first $130,000 or so. But after that, all the millionaires and hedge fund managers and Silicon Valley coding geniuses don’t pay anything more. So ALL of the burden of Social Security falls on people earning $130,000 or less – basically ALL of the middle class. If corporate executives and bankers and doctors and lawyers paid their fair share on ALL their annual income, and not just a small part of it, the SS Trust Fund would be completely in the black, and there would be no worries. So you go ask Grover Norquist and Trump and Mitt about that. And Sanders.

And I agree with you – it isn’t an “entitlement” – it’s a benefit earned fair and square by every middle-class tax payer who has paid into the system. But conservatives want you to THINK it’s an entitlement, because they’ve always wanted to get rid of it – that ugly word “socialism”. And if they call it an “entitlement”, they can demonize it, and make you think that only leeches and moochers are getting it, rather then hard working people who have EARNED it. Social Security has been the absolute bane of the Republican Party since it started during the Great Depression.

          • Cherie Lynn Davis

Well, if the money paid into Social Security had been handled properly, we wouldn’t be having this conversation. And if you are a man, you would probably stand a better chance of getting an answer from Grover Norquist, Trump, Mitt or Sanders, than I would.

          • I Seigel

Yes, if Congress had been responsible and worked for balancing the budget – requiring restraint AND some additional taxes – then we wouldn’t be having this conversation.

One of the tactics that Republicans have tried, for years, is to pass a balanced budget amendment. But that would only further THEIR goal of shrinking government until they could get their hands around its throat, and then choke it to death (or whatever that now-infamous quote was from the 60s). Passing an amendment just makes it so that no one has to actually negotiate and compromise. It just becomes an exercise in slash and burn.

          • PC Bob

Isn’t it odd, how a really good and decent black man comes along, wanting to help America get back on track and the blacks immediately jump all over him? The man tells the truth and they want to stone him? I suppose that if Al Sharpton should try to run, ALL the blacks would vote for him? It leaves me thinking that they wouldn’t recognize a GOOD black man if they saw one! How truly sad!

          • Cherie Lynn Davis

Many are confused as to what they think “help” is. They have been brainwashed into thinking the Democrats are their friends when in actuality, they are being used, strictly for their votes. I believe one reason the present administration is actively promoting illegal immigration is because many black people have wised up and refuse to be their “water boys and girls” any longer. Thank goodness for that. Now our mission is to undo the damage Democrats have inflicted in the black communities and help them to become whole family units again. With the right instructors in place, this will come to pass!

        • PC Bob

Oh, I see, we TP’ers and Republicans are racist’s because we don’t like Trump, but also because we DO like Carson? That makes absolutely NO SENSE at all! Maybe YOU should do some more reading and find out exactly what it is we don’t like about Trump! AS for Carson; He is the ONLY candidate I have ever donated money to! If he were on the ballot I would certainly vote for him! I don’t give a DAMN what color a persons skin is! Never have! All I want to know is, what kind of a person they are. Trump, and some of the other early candidates did not measure UP to my standards. Carson, though, did! This election will be between two of the most unpopular candidates we have ever seen! No matter which one wins, WE will lose! By the way, I had SERIOUS reservations about Obama, too, and I did NOT vote for him, either time! Being a man of principle I refuse to compromise!

          • pmbalele

When I saw Carson disowning Obamacare, I right away said to myself not to vote for him. Carson is a pure GOP White people operative. You can see him near Trump – as if begging to be hired. I also noticed Carson dis not brush her teeth. That is why he talked with lisp.

    • Tammy Dorsey Berthaut

You need to read ALL of Obamacare. They only talk about the good parts and leave out all the horrible parts. This year the costs are going to jump up yet again and not by a few bucks buy a lot. I heard it could be 25% or more. Many of the (as you say) “blacks that would be in trouble” are hard working people that will be paying a lot more for Obamacare. How many of your friends and family can afford $500, $600 or more per month just for insurance? Then lots of co-pays and deductibles? This hurts most working families no matter what color you are, We are all in the same boat. We need a better system but I am sorry to tell you Obamacare is not it. Maybe parts of it are great but the rest needs to go. People need good affordable care.

      • pmbalele

Tammy, you’re listening to FoxNews too much. Bill O and the school drop-out Hannity are good at brain-washing gullible people. Not me. Go back and read what Bill O was whining in 2008 when his premium jumped by 25%. After Obamacare, his premium increased by measly 5 5%. Still Bill O whined. Get a job and you gonna love it. If your employer fires you, he is responsible for your health insurance. Ask me, I am paying for two individuals I fired. Despite all that, I am enjoying Obamacare and here you’re whining and nitpicking Obamacare. You’re a hypocrite.

    • Susannadanna

True, I’m not black, but my best friend is. Neither of us voted for Obama. As believing Christians, we saw through him, although we both were happy that our beloved country had arrived at the place where a black man COULD be elected president.

Tell me how Ben Carson has ever ONCE “oppressed others for money.” He has neither oppressed, nor pandered (which is what Obama does). Carson, with his medical career behind him, understands how the American medical system works, and how ALL American citizens can benefit from it without government CONTROL, inefficiency, fraud and abuse. If you want a perfect example of a government controlled medical system, just look at the VA scandals!

Dr. Carson advocates a sound, private health care savings plan that’s far better for all people than Obamacare. And Trump knows how to cut government waste, bloat, and fraud to return government to its rightful place, efficiency and effectiveness. Working together, they will definitely create a healthier, more productive America, with VASTLY more jobs than we now have.

Ben Carson is not, nor has he ever been, a racist, a government hanger-on, or anything but a devout Christian, an American who loves his country, and a renowned surgeon, who loves people enough to risk his career and reputation to save them with intuitive, but untried, procedures. He is a modern-day pioneer, and a brilliantly thoughtful, reasonable, and genuinely accomplished man. How you can see him as “trouble” for black people is beyond my ability to grasp.

He’s one of the most admirable men in the public spotlight.

      • pmbalele

Suzy, that is name of one of my granddaughters. You said you wanted to create a healthier, more productive America. But at the same time you want a segment of our country – poor Blacks and poor White die for lack of preventive medication. I will give you an incident: Two young white males came to apply for jobs at my business. All of a sudden one complained about appendix. So I asked his friend to take him to the hospital. The guy with appendix said he cannot go to the hospital because he did not have insurance. So he started crying and whining of pain. Eventually I called the ambulance and they took him to ER. Five days later he was out. That was in 2008. His hill came $6,000 for three days. Hear this. He blamed me for calling the ambulance because he was $6,000 in debt. Anyway I hired him. This guy would have died – the appendix had burst in his stomach. We need Obamacare now and in the future. That is why we should elect Hillary. Forget about Dr. Carson.

        • PC Bob

He was looking for a job, right? This means he likely did NOT have medical insurance. Tell me, how would ObamaCare have made this any different? There are, today, MILLIONS who still do not have medical insurance, for the simple reason that they cannot AFFORD it! JUST LIKE BEFORE ObamaCare! People have to eat, too, you know, and then there are such frivolous items as, rent, utilities and gas for a car (IF you are so fortunate as to have one) so you can GO to work! ObamaCare just created even more problems for people trying to exist at the poverty level! NOW, they are forced to pay a fine for not having it!

          • pmbalele

What – There are, today, MILLIONS who still do not have medical insurance.” These are either Repubs or TPs who do not like Obamacare. The rest who do not have insurance are simply lazy to register.

        • Georgia Hostetler

What kind of thinking is that ?

          • pmbalele

I was relating to Dr. Carson comment that the government should give each individual ID at birth to create own insurance. That is the thinking.

    • PC Bob

Oppressing others for money? Tell me how taking money AWAY from people in order to GIVE it to others is not oppressive? I happen to think Dr Carson would make a GREAT president, just not in THIS political climate! There is just too much hatred and vitriol going around! Getting 25 million Christians to vote for Trump is rather ingenious, since Mr. Trump does not seem to even have a religion! So, what will they be voting for? AS for poor people, black or otherwise, not having insurance, the number batted around BEFORE ObamaCare was 25 million uninsured: Today there are STILL 25 million who are uninsured! What progress we have made, huh? The cost, however, has skyrocketed! What progress we have made!

      • pmbalele

Please read what I just posted. Those uninsured are either lazy or Repubs or TPs. They would prefer to suffer and even die than being treated because they have Obamacare.

  • Shaymamma8

President Obama has not ruined anything for men of color, and Mr Carson is an idiot. President Obama has proven that men of color are just as smart as those lacking color. President Obama has brought the country back from the brink of disaster due to the failed polices of President GW Bush. The only thing many of you have against the President is the color of his skin. “We, the people, knew President Obama is a good man, and that is why he was re-elected. Mr Carson did not have a chance to become the nominee because of the stupid things he said, not because of the PRESIDENT. and if anyone is stupid enough to believe that most black people voted for President Obama just because he is black, then Ben Carson would have been a shoo in. But thankfully, that did not happen.

    • Cherie Lynn Davis

TROLL ALERT!! TROLL ALERT!! Can’t believe anyone would be calling Dr. Carson, the first man to ever SUCCESSFULLY separate conjoined-at-the-head Siamese twins, “stupid.” Now, that is breathtakingly STUPID!!

      • Shaymamma8

I stand by everything I stated, Carson has said many stupid things and will probably continue to say stupid things. Just because one is smart enough to separate Siamese twins doesn’t mean one has common sense. Enough said…..

        • SDofAZ

          Suck it down darling!

        • Cherie Lynn Davis

          Well then, name them!!

      • Pamela Sellarole

Excellent point, Ms. Davis. I thought of mentioning that myself. After all, that’s not exactly building a sand castle at the beach. What you describe is extremely complicated BRAIN SURGERY. It takes incredible intelligence and calm under pressure to be able to do such an intricate operation successfully. If you haven’t seen the movie “Gifted Hands,” you should. Also, if you will notice, during the debates, Dr. Carson was one of the few candidates –perhaps the only one–to behave like a mature adult on that stage. The others were coming unglued and attacking each other, while he just stood there calmly and waited for the storm to subside. That should have garnered him a LOT more respect than it did. But unfortunately, Americans these days are all about being entertained, rather than informed. We’d rather watch a bad imitation of the Jerry Springer Show (with Dr. Carson doing his best to interject a few words of wisdom, like Mr. Springer does at the close of his broadcast), instead of a calm, rational discussion of the issues facing our country, our world, and ourselves. GROW UP, AMERICA! Treat your voting privilege like the gift that it is, and respect it enough to make INFORMED choices. Don’t let the government dumb you down and brainwash you so you can’t fight for what America was meant to be.

        • Cherie Lynn Davis

Yes, I did watch the movie, “Gifted Hands,” twice! I think all his detractors should watch it and also read his books. His story is an uplifting answer to some of life’s biggest obstacles. Once he knew what he wanted to do with his life, he became a man possessed with achieving his goals. We are all much better off with what he has contributed to our society and to America in general. He would be a great president because he has unselfish reasons for wanting the job. I believe that is the reason he came out in support of Donald Trump. They both could see the problem and electing another career politician was not the solution. Hopefully, Dr. Carson’s new objective will be as successful as his personal life has been. If he can get 25 million Christians to the polls in November, I say more power to him. Nothing he accomplishes at this point would surprise me!

    • charles17121

Shaymanma8 = Obot still believing the BS the fraud and usurper barack hussein obama put out . Fake Up Fool ! This pile of garbage barack hussein obama is trying to destroy our Constitutional Republic one constitutional law at a time . It is lemmings like you that put this fraud and usurper in office 2009.

      Keep drinking the koolaide shay.

    • Triple J Jackson

Shybabymomma you are a idiotic fool. And if you think your lies are convincing anyone you are crazy on top of blind. First off Obama has done NOTHING I repeat NOTHING good for the American people. He has however separated the country very efficiently and has done well flooding the country with illegals And Muslims that would love nothing more than to kill every Black American they can. And that’s what that good for nothing lame duck has done.

  • SDofAZ

Carson is a good man. He does inspire.

  • DrBillLemoine

So long as Ben Carson sticks to Gospel, I’m with him turning out Christian voters. So long as they all give to God what is His, and man/mammon, his, I’m there. Anything beyond, anything that smacks of legislating bible per se into secular life, I’ll oppose as always. Ben might start in the Bible Belt South where so much apostasy abounds, so many reprobates spew chapter and verse without the requisite understanding and wisdom required by Gospel, so much harm is done to fellow citizens (limiting Planned Parenthood, voting, and civil rights, for examples) in the name of Christianity. You go, Ben–within Gospel.

    • PC Bob

      Uh-ooh! I sense a Pro-Lifer!

      • DrBillLemoine

Yes, pro life is good. But that doesn’t prevent–and no law should prevent–any woman from aborting a fetus that threatens her health, or is a product of rape or incest.

  • Bert

Dr. Carson is on to something. I think all the pundits and politicians who are disavowing Mr. Trump because of ill-conceived notions and patently false misconceptions are not listening to him. He has been spot on in most of what he has said!
Here we are in what could be the most dangerous time of our country’s existence, and the sour grapes slippery mouthed politicians and crybabies are not heeding Mr. Trump’s warnings! Wake up!
Mr. Trump did not have to step into the political battle, but he is deeply concerned about this country and her future. Mr. Trump realizes, like the Founders of this great country, that we are in trouble, which is obviously what many patriots are seeing.
We the People who believe the Constitution and the Bill of Rights to be the best framework under which to live are responding to the truth being proclaimed by Mr. Trump: this country is in TROUBLE, and he needs the chance to fix it.
The naysayers proclaim Mr. Trump is “not conservative enough!” My response is he is a heap-sight better than what the Democrats have thrown at us, and are throwing at us in the candidates who want their nomination!
Mr. Trump, in a nutshell wants to “Make America Great Again” In short, he is a breath of fresh air, and he doesn’t speak to the way the political winds are blowing.
As in his business practices, Mr. Trump is honest (a rare commodity in politics nowadays), straight-forward, kind, and will deliver a quality product.
As in 1776, so today, we need a fighter, not a politician in the White House!
God Bless Dr. Carson, Mr. Trump and all those concerned Patriotic Americans, who see what will happen under another four to eight years of more of the same! We will NOT recognize the country if that happens!

    • SDofAZ

Naoh Chomsky, an intellectual discusses our political culture in Requiem for the American Dream on Netflix. He has clearly explained the NWO agenda and the current political climate of this country pretty well in a series of shorts on the transfer of wealth and power in this country. It explains the open borders, etc. and very well. And he identifies the big business culprits and their cohorts, our purchased politicians. I would suggest a look at it to anyone that does not already understand what has happened to bring about this current power struggle between the congress and our political parties and the people of this supposed democracy.

      • I Seigel

OH BOY!! An idiot is stupid enough to start quoting Noam Chomsky, and he doesn’t even know how to spell the name. Good grief! Spare us your ignorance. PLEASE!!

        • ShemSilber

After over 70 years as an ardent student of the English language, I could be the grammar and spelling police par excellence, but I’ve learned long ago to look past the dinky little errors in order to evaluate what a person says, rather than pick on them.

Please spare us your name-calling and your own ignorance, if you please.

          • I Seigel

No, you do quite well as the Bible-quoting police par excellence. Trouble is, you seem to continue to get the Old and New Testaments mixed up.

          • ShemSilber

Thank you for addressing an issue instead of calling names! Therefore I answer you with both respect and joy.

There is a reason that I do not separate between the Old and the New Testaments, namely, that it is all one Book and all one dispensation. But church fathers such as Jerome both divided the Scriptures and claimed that the New did away with the Old. The Old is the foundation, and without it there is no New Testament. Because of such figures as Jerome, we were taught in the churches that the Master replaced the children of Israel with the church, contrary both to prophecies like Jeremiah 31:31-40 and to His stated purpose, to seek and to save the lost sheep of the House of Israel.

The Master Yahushua inspired the writing even of the Old Testament, per 1Corinthians 10:4; Hebrews 11:24-26; John 1:1-18; 8:58, among other references. He shows Himself thus that He is the Mediator from the beginning, from the time that our Father sent Him to form Adam from the clay. He it is who gave the proto-evangelium to the serpent in the presence of Adam and Eve, per Genesis 3:14-15, wherein He let them know that He would come and personally see to their salvation and to the defeat of the serpent, for a wound to the head is deadly to the serpent. It is He of whom Moses sings, per Exodus 15:3, “Yahuwah is a Man of war! Yahuwah is His Name!” and of whom John writes in Revelation 19:11 that he judges and makes war in righteousness. That is why the Master is called the Prince of Peace, because He and His armies will wage the war that will indeed be the end of all wars, and we will finally have peace on earth forevermore in His Presence, omein.

          • I Seigel

It seems that Kim Jong-Un, ISIS, Iran and Putin would love to wage the war that will end all wars, too. Might happen a lot sooner than waiting for the Prince of Peace.

          • ShemSilber

The wars run by human leaders, however, will only generate more wars. Only the Prince of Peace, our Master Yahushua the Messiah, will wage the war to end all wars. HalleluYAH, for His victory is as sure as the rising and setting of the sun, omein.

          • I Seigel

A bunch of ICBMs detonated around the globe will just as effectively end all future wars, too. Prince of Peace notwithstanding. Amen.

          • ShemSilber

That’s how the evil one, Azazel, the devil, a.k.a. Allah of Islam, would LIKE to end this age: by turning the earth into a cinder. but that will not be allowed. That is precisely WHY, per Matthew 24:22, that the Master Yahushua will cut those days short, so that there will be some saved alive. The others, as the Word says in Revelation 20, will be resurrected after the 1,000 years are up. All mankind will have opportunity for salvation through the Master, omein and omein.

          • I Seigel

It would have been nice, don’t you think, if HE hadn’t allowed WWII to happen. What was the reason he allowed that? Or do you think HE wasn’t paying any attention to us at the time, and that’s why it happened? Maybe he was creating the heavens and the earth for a different planet in a faraway solar system at the time and didn’t notice Hitler’s rise to power, or the Holocaust, or the Blitzkrieg.

          • ShemSilber

Oh, yes, indeed, The Master Yahushua, the Firstborn of Yahuwah Almighty, sees, and He knows, and it is not yet TIME for Him to come to rule. Only He knows when the time of our Galut (Exile) is over, and the wrath that we have had to suffer for our Torah violations. It’s our fault, and not His.

Nevertheless, He will give remedy and recourse to all those who suffered and died in WWII and the Shoah (Holocaust). He even knows and is taking care of the worst holocaust EVER that is continuing unabated to our unborn children, ten times as many as the Jewish people who died under Haman’s descendant Hitler at 60 million and counting. He takes them into His custody and care, and they will be witnesses for the prosecution of those who have refused to turn from the evils and humbled themselves before Him.

He is also cognizant of the uprising of the LGBT subculture and will let that run its course and deal with it accordingly.

And there is the ongoing Islamic terrorism, and so on and so forth, and He will deal with all that and make His enemies His footstool, and give everlasting life to those who accept His gift of life, and rewards to all according to our works.

You will see it with your own eyes, and may it be from within, as a citizen of His Kingdom, and not from the outside looking in, in the Name of the Master Yahushua, omein!

          • I Seigel

So let me ask you: If HE will eventually deal with “the uprising of the LGBT subculture”, should we not just leave it to Him to judge them, while we show them kindness and forgiveness and forbearance and not assume our own power to judge?

          • ShemSilber

Are you forgetting that in the same context where the Word says to love your neighbor as yourself (Leviticus 19:18) it also says that we shall not bear sin because of our neighbor (verse 17), and calls homosexuality sin (18:22; 20:13)? Refusing to tolerate or condone sin is part of loving your neighbor! That’s the Word of Yahuwah Almighty to US, through our Master Yahushua, omein.

          • Georgia Hostetler

Thank you Shem Silber I am certain God is proud of you and your Intellect ~ I appreciate you too.

          • ShemSilber

Thank you, Sister Georgia. All the praise belongs to the Master Yahushua (Lord Jesus) who gave me a little of His Spirit of Wisdom. Without Him we were not even formed in our mothers’ wombs, and without Him we can do nothing, let alone enter His Kingdom, omein.

Here’s that chain-pulling troll, Siegel, again. This troll is most definitely a liberal democRAT who gets on sites to try to start folks arguing with him. His elevator can’t get past the first floor – no lights on. He rants and raves at everyone and everything like a man with a paper……… brain (?) Oops I forgot he isn’t the sharpest knife in the drawer! In other words, every time he open hs mouth he sticks his foot in it. Boy, he is so uninformed it makes him ignorant. If others can pull up facts on the internet, why can’t he?? I don’t think he likes me either, LOL, : ) He replies to a lot of my posts. Of course they show up in my email so I just delete them – I don’t bother reading such drivel. I guess you’re his target today, LOL , and I’ll be deleting another one of his little twits.

        My reply to Siegel.
(WHAT DIFFERENCE DOES IT MAKE NOW?) That Siegel, remains to be seen, doesn’t it now?? That comment alone told me who and what you are.

So very true. Well said and well written.

  • Cherie Lynn Davis

With all due respect Sir, Muslims are chopping peoples’ heads off at an alarming rate, burning them alive in cages and lining them up and shooting them to death. I can’t for the life of me figure how that is showing compassion to THEIR fellow human beings. The Bible says, “an eye for an eye and a tooth for a tooth.” For crying out loud, Mr. Trump has not even officially been named the Republican nominee yet and people like you are already on the stump yelling that he is evil. If he is the nominee don’t you think it would be wise to at least give him a chance at trying to get our Country back on its feet? He can’t do any worse than the career politicians who got our Country in the mess it now faces and hopefully he will be able to undo some, or all, of the damage they have created! Remember, people did the same thing to Ronald Reagan and he proved to be one of the greatest presidents this Country has ever seen! And remember too, Ronald Reagan was once a Democrat before he figured out their evil agenda!

    • kathy diamond

Cherie Lynn Davis, We know Trump is not evil. He is honest. There are some people who don’t know the difference. Trump wants to protect America and the American People. If these narrow minded people would just take the time to look & listen, they would do the right thing. Things in OUR COUNTRY must change or, we won’t be here much longer. If this is what they want, then they should go to another country

      • Cherie Lynn Davis

I agree. The Founders were here before us and wrote the Constitution as a guide to have and keep our freedom in tact. If these people find it too difficult to live with, then they should go somewhere else where their ideas are more in line with the despots who rule there. Or, there are many islands with no population at all. They could start a new liberal nation on one of them!! Whatever they do, just go away and leave us alone!!

        • Georgia Hostetler

Cherie Lynn Davis~ you have the same notion as I do ~ (I used to be a Davis, Cherie) I believe if they do not want to be American and go along with what our Fore fathers planned for us, then they have no business here, we Americans are happy with being American and also a Christian Nation. That is the way it started and that is the way it needs get back to ~~ ONE NATION UNDER GOD. Our Only God ~ the Lord Jesus Christ.

          • Cherie Lynn Davis

Georgia: The Liberals have been working for a very long time to take God out of everything in this Country. They want no mention of Him anywhere. Since most, if not all, of the Founders were believers, I do not understand why they are so offended by everything that has His name on it. Even the Nativity scene at Christmas is under attack. I think that until God is returned to His place of honor in this Country, things will not bode well for America.

          • Georgia Hostetler

Cherie Lynn Davis, that is exactly what Satan wants us to believe. But God is the Winner and WE ARE ON THE WINNERS SIDE. we must chase the devil away ~ “by the shed blood of the Lord Jesus Christ ~ get behind me Satan” and my dear Grandma Davis, taught me to kick him when I said that and I have done that more than once. I am writing a book called “I was born in a Crows nest” hope you might read it one day. I am not getting it done so fast but I have to soon ~ not before I get too old but before I forget I guess. LOL

          • Cherie Lynn Davis

Doesn’t sound to me like you will be forgetting anything any time soon! 🙂

      • I Seigel

What needs to change is a sense of cooperation with one’s opponents. Our system of government was designed by the Founding Fathers so that each side needs to interact and negotiate with the other side. They designed a system so that no faction gets EVERYTHING they want while the other side gets NOTHING. Only when both sides feel they’ve gained SOMETHING do they feel that they have “skin in the game”, and they work together for the strength of the country. We’ve forgotten that, in the single-minded goal of making Obama a one-term president.

      • Georgia Hostetler

Kathy Diamond~ when a Democrat is borne in a Democrat family ~ they must not turn Traitor~~ my Dad almost disowned me when he found out I voted for Ronald Reagan. He would have but he was sick and I was the only one of seven of us kids that went to help them mow their grass and clean and take my Mom back and forth to the hospital to visit him. I am really not a Republican ~ I am a born again Christian looking for BEN CARSON to be our President ~ but as we all know, the Devil was working against God’s anointed and appointed man all the while. We lost our Chance there. So with his request I pray for God who has given us His Heart and His Mind, I have asked for His eyes that I might see the good in Donald Trump, I must tell you, I have seen he and his family in a whole different light now. I am also looking for God to give us a real MIRACLE ~~~

    • djm4706

I think you should read Mr. Carson’s endorsement of Trump. He supports him.

      • Cherie Lynn Davis

I know, this comment was meant for Joe, below. I forgot to hit the reply button to his comment and by the time I realized my mistake, I had already hit the send button.

    • I Seigel

Yes, SOME Muslims are doing that. You’re right. And some Christians here are killing people in churches and at abortion clinics and at malls and stores and schools and offices. The murdering Muslims and the murdering Christians don’t represent everyone of their faiths. Or do you feel that the KKK and the Aryan Brotherhood speak for you?

And I disagree that Trump couldn’t do any worse than career politicians. Already some of his ideas are starting to unhinge our allies and Wall Street. He is already starting to do harm to America’s standing in the world – a President Trump would be catastrophic. So we will agree to disagree on that topic. As someone else said here, we’re both free to voice our crazy opinions.

      • Cherie Lynn Davis

But usually, it seems that Muslims unite in large numbers with a mindless aim to kill, any and all, who are not abiding by the Quran. More so than In the United States, where the crazies who invade churches, schools and malls, etc., usually act alone. It says in the Quran that if infidels cannot be converted to Islam, they should be killed. I do not remember anything in Christianity that requires murdering one’s fellow man if they refuse to convert to Christianity. I have never made a study of the KKK or the Aryan Brotherhood but I am a firm believer of “Live and Let Live.” However, think for a minute how we would be treated if we went to the Middle East where Islam is dominant and demanded that they provide accommodations for our Christian beliefs..We would probably be separated from our heads in short order!! We will have to agree to disagree on Mr. Trump as everyone who likes or dislikes him have no way of knowing what the final outcome of a Trump presidency will be. I would sooner trust him than the politicians responsible for the mess we are now dealing with. Ronald Reagan was a hated outsider before he was elected and his legacy reads very well. And remember too, he was a Democrat before he became a Republican. Although he was not my first choice, I am willing to give Mr. Trump a chance. As I said before, he can’t do any worse than the fools on Capital Hill and as you pointed out, we are both allowed to voice our opinions even though we may think the other is crazy. (:>)

        • I Seigel

I looked for your reference to the Quran about killing infidels, and you’re right – to a point.

There is a passage – Chapter 5, Verse 12 – which forbids killing: “Whosoever kills a human being for Murder or Creating Mischief in the Land, it is as if he had killed the whole of Human Kind and whoso saved the life of one as if he has saved the life of all Mankind”

But you are also right – there are many passages that SEEM to condone, and even encourage, Muslims to kill non-believers. There are plenty of Islamic preachers – mullahs – that preach whatever interpretation they want, depending on their politics. Just as there are plenty of Christian preachers who preach intolerance and death to gays or to abortion doctors.

Whatever your beliefs are, Cherie, I think you and I could agree that people have used – and abused – God in all His names for thousands of years. People claiming some divine insight have inspired wars and witchcraft trials and Inquisitions. I think that’s why the Founding Fathers were insistent on not allowing the United States to become a theocracy, with an “official” religion. That is the essence of the separation of church and state, one of our founding principles. Where in the Constitution does it mention Christianity or Jesus?

          • Cherie Lynn Davis

With all due respect, separation of church and state is not mentioned in the Constitution. It was penned in a letter written by Thomas Jefferson to either John Adams or Benjamin Franklin. I am not a 100% on the recipient, so don’t hold my feet to the fire over that. But it was not included in the Constitution.

          • I Seigel

I didn’t say that the separation of church and state was mentioned in the Constitution. I said it was one of our founding principles. It is included in the very first phrase of the very first of the Amendments in the Bill of Rights. And the Constitution doesn’t give Congress the power to establish a national religion. The Amendment simply reinforces that. The Constitution doesn’t give Congress the authority to interfere in the practicing of religion either. The Amendment simply reinforces that, as well.

But I see your point – the MODERN concept that we have of the separation of church and state did not come along until the 1940’s, after a Supreme Court decision (Everson vs Board of Education).

          • Cherie Lynn Davis

Okay. I concede on that one. Assuming always gets me into trouble. I assumed you were speaking of the Constitution.

        • Georgia Hostetler

Cherie and Kathy I am 86 (and full of tricks) let me tell you a secret please~~ I had a dear, rich, wonderful friend a few years back, she taught me something I want to share with you ~ please hear it and mark it in your mind… She told me this ~ ” Never argue with a ‘Little’ person” and I thought I need to pass it on~~ this is a time we really need to (and this is my slogan I just made up recently) HANG TIGHT AND UNITE. God Bless our America.

          • Cherie Lynn Davis

LOVE it!! We need to send that on to Donald Trump!

      • Georgia Hostetler

I Seigel ~~! you need to read your book again ~better yet ~ YOU REALLY NEED TO READ GOD’S BOOK ~ THE WORD, THE BIBLE. You truly are all mixed up sir. or what ever Wow, in all my 86 years I have never been as mixed up as you seem to be.

        • I Seigel

Well, Georgia, you tell me how I’m mixed up. What specifically did I say in my post that you don’t agree with? People can have DIFFERENT points of view. But they’re not entitled to a different set of FACTS. Did I say anything FACTUALLY wrong?

          • Georgia Hostetler

I Seigel~ My Pop taught me from a little tot up to when he passed on at age 91 ~ He said “The least said is the best said” I will leave it at that with you Sir. If I am going to argue, I would rather do it face to face so the one I am arguing with knows when enough is enough.

          • I Seigel

Yes, let’s leave it at that, since apparently you don’t have anything to say.
And I think your Pop was giving you advice on how to live a long and argument-free life with your spouse.

          • Georgia Hostetler

II Seigel ~~ What can I say ? looks like you KNOW IT ALL.

          • I Seigel

Georgia – I’m capable of having a reasonable discussion with anybody. If I see a post that I disagree with, I try to post facts that contradict the other person’s opinions. I TRY – I admit, with some failures – not to resort to name-calling and insults. But when the responses to my comments are simply on the order of “you’re wrong”, or “I can tell you’re a liberal, so you’re an idiot and I won’t bother discussing this with you”, that, to me, is a complete cop out. It shows, to me, that the other person really isn’t capable of supporting their opinions with facts, or they’re just too lazy, or they only want to talk with people who agree with them and can’t take an opinion that challenges them to maybe think differently.

So when you, for example, don’t respond to my ideas but you dismissively say, “go read the Bible and learn – you’re all mixed up”, that to me is not really a response. You didn’t say HOW you thought I was mixed up, and you didn’t respond to, what I thought, were reasonable ideas written to you in a respectful and reasonable manner.

But that’s OK. I realize this isn’t an English class or a Philosophy lecture. Some people are willing to put the time and effort into having a good debate, and some people don’t come here for that. I’m looking for the few people here who are willing to put in the effort and keep it respectful.

  • joe

So, for which evil would Mr. Carson have us cast our ballot? Ms. Clinton is a proven liar, suspected murderer, and there is strong evidence of her being a traitor.
Mr. Trump is also a liberal, masquerading as a Republican (which party has also become more leftist than the Democratic party of the 1960s), and apparently having no compassion for his fellow human beings since he has stated that Muslims AND their families should be eradicated.
There will be no other choices presented in November and our too-long history of voting for the lesser evil has come full circle; there is no difference in the candidates other than physical appearance.
IOW, we have sown the wind and now we shall reap the whirlwind.

    • Rex Sutton

      Sir Ben is for Trump.

    • Jack Burns

Lying is not a Christian value, at least not yet. When you deliberately misstate Mr Trumps position by saying that he calls for ” erratication of Muslims and their families” , you lose all credibility. You sound like just another political hack.

      • joe

“In an interview with Fox and Friends, the Republican front runner said he would ‘knock the h*** out’ of ISIS with an aggressive military strategy if elected president. That strategy, he said, would include using deadly force on people who are related to ISIS members.

‘We’re fighting a very politically correct war,’ he said in response to a question about avoiding civilian causalities. ‘And the other thing is with the terrorists, you have to take out their families. They, they care about their lives. Don’t kid yourself. But they say they don’t care about their lives. You have to take out their families.’”

        • SDofAZ

He is talking about the middle east not the US. And why would you object to stopping ISIS? We are already there and doing nothing effective or did you miss the news about a seal being killed in one of their attacks. Overran the curds I believe! At least with Trump our military might be allowed to really respond. BO does not even want to stop them apparently.

And the families of most terrorist know exactly what they are up to and often in on the plan. What a putz. That was the deal in San Bernadino but Momma and Dad babysat for the killers. Do you not read and understand the ties or are you just a bleeding heart fool or pretend protestor taking the other side of the debate. In all scenarios you lose. At the very least those who support the terrorist should be deported or jailed.

          • PC Bob

BHO will not even allow them to ENGAGE the enemy! Then, WHY are they even there? WE have a do-nothing president, running a do-nothing admin! What we REALLY need is a strong willed and strong minded President AND Congress! If Trump can accomplish that, then MAYBE I can support him. If he turns out to be a shill for the Democrats, he will simply destroy this country, finishing what BHO started!

        • Jack Burns

So where does the “all Muslims AND their families should be eradicated” come from? It doesn’t…you made that up. You intentionally lied to make your point which puts you in a class with Hillary. Trump is referring to the possibility of collateral damage if ISIS puts their families in a place where ISIS operates and we have to bomb to destroy their murderous machine. If they do, everyone is killed. Like it or not Collateral damage is part of war. He is not eradicating all Muslims and their families. You should apologize to Mr Trump and his supporters and stop lying. God will punish you.

      • kathy diamond

        Jack Burns YES

    • 1947goldenjet

When Trump gets Americans killed because he can (like Hillary), I’ll agree with you. At least when he makes biblical references, he is referring to a Christian Bible. With Hillary, I suspect that she is using Huma’s Koran.

    • kathy diamond

joe, You really need to open you eyes. The future of America depends on it. Clinton has been a large part of the problem for many, many years. Her campaign has been following everything Obama has already done. If you haven’t noticed, these very things has almost destroyed OUR COUNTRY. Stop & smell the roses

      • joe

The point that I am making, Kathy, is that we have no choice. Clinton will absolutely finish the destruction of our republic but Mr. Trump will also have the U.S.A. in shambles although through different means and motives.
Sorry, I fervently wish that we had a third party candidate strong enough to split the electoral college evenly and throw the election to the House.

        • Jack Burns

Please explain what you mean by “Trump will also have the USA in shambles.”You are making things up and lying again just like Hillary. And it is very annoying.

        • kathy diamond

JOE, I respect your view about Hillary, but, as a staunch Trump supporter I truly believe Trump can & will systematically clean up the mess. We can agree that we are in BIG TROUBLE with MANY,MANY things. It’s going to take time but it will be done. To consider a 3rd party would be dangerous only because this person would be the choice of THE EVIL ONES. We can’t afford to take that chance. .

        • Susannadanna

Everything Trump openly intends to do will REVERSE the damage of the past few decades. We are ALREADY in shambles, and I don’t know of another conceivable candidate who has the honesty, courage, determination and KNOW-HOW to reduce bloated government and build up our economic base again. Trump also believes that local governments, and NOT the feds, should be in control of our own local schools. How anyone can possibly think he has “ulterior” motives when he doesn’t need a job, when his policies are refreshingly conservative, when he’s a true patriot, and those who support him know he can do the BEST job for America, BY FAR.

        • PC Bob

Ted Cruz did not ‘drop out.’ He has merely suspended his campaign, and there’s nothing to prevent him from returning. Mr. Trump has already begun reneging on everything he has ‘promised’. IF people start seeing that, and backing away from him, THEN Ted can return and push the convention into a contest for delegates. I think THEN we will see a different outcome. It all boils down to timing now. The time will come. We do not need a third party, yet, because Ted CAN win it all in July!

    • Pamela Sellarole

First of all, it’s DR> Carson. At least show a little respect for a;; the man has accomplished by giving him his proper title. Secondly, why is Mrs. Clinton even running? She should be in jail awaiting prosecution for all her crimes against our country (starting with Benghazi). Hope she looks good in orange.

Third, perhaps you have Mr. Trump all wrong. He may be a recovering liberal, as opposed to a phony conservative. People do grow and change, you know. Let’s at least give the man the benefit of the doubt.

However, I do agree with the fact that for the past 28 years, come election time, we have had to vote for the lesser of two evils. This happens for two reasons. 1. We don’t give the minor parties (e.g. Green, Libertarian, Constitution, etc) enough exposure to be able to play in the game with the big boys and girls. If we did, our geopolitical landscape would look very different, and give us more choices (some actually honourable men and women). and 2. We had several good candidates who, through chicanery caused by the media and/or other candidates and/or their people lost their footing and had to retreat–for now, at least. Men like Ben Carson and Mike Huckabee would have been splendid choices, ladies like Sarah Palin and Michelle Bachman, neither of whom even threw her hat in the ring would also have been stellar.

Too bad Michael Reagan wasn’t a choice. He might have brought back his father’s policies–or at least his patriotism–and perhaps, like the four I mentioned above, been one who could have helped turn America back to God, where we belong.

  • David Stewart

If only Obama hadn’t forever tainted the pool for men of color! Carson may have been the Messiah!

    • Georgia Hostetler

Not the Messiah~ but David ~ I do believe Dr. Carson was anointed and appointed to be our President by Our Lord God, but Satan defeated him once but I do not believe Satan can keep this man of God down as he plans to. Dr. Carson isn’t finished yet. I pray for a real MIRACLE ~~ God still has a bunch of them.
