Carly Fiorina raising money off GOP debate snub

by Seth McLaughlin  |  published on February 8, 2016

Former Hewlett Packard CEO Carly Fiorina is looking to cash in on her being left out of the eighth GOP presidential debate here in New Hampshire.

Mrs. Fiorina finished ahead of Govs. John Kasich of Ohio and Chris Christie of New Jersey in Iowa, but, unlike them, she failed to meet the criteria that ABC set for participants – marking a major blow to her campaign.

“Party bosses in Washington and media executives in New York are doing everything they can to hijack this election,” she said in a fundraising email.

“Without your voice, New York media executives will continue to make sure every candidate who can beat Hillary Clinton in the fall is silenced and sidelined,” she said.

Businessman Donald Trump, Sen. Ted Cruz, Sen. Marco Rubio, former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush, and retired neurosurgeon Ben Carson are slated to join Mr. Kasich and Mr. Bush in the 8 p.m. debate at Saint Anselm College in New Hampshire.

I’m not a Carly Fiorina supporter-actually my vote is for #Trump but I think what they did to her was wrong! She was higher in the poles than Bush,Kasich,Christy (or at least above 2 of those 3)so they should have either put 2 of those guys on the early stage with her or made room for her on the main stage! To leave only her out of it completely was pretty crappy!

    • Mister Vice

There should be NO criteria for candidates to meet to participate in a debate. Especially established by MSM! This process is FOR THE PEOPLE and WE SHOULD DECIDE who we want to participate! It is always good to hear different opinions no matter how strange they may be. We can make up our own minds after careful consideration.

  • rayhause

I see absolutely nothing against her raising money. If Carson can intentionally planted a very misleading news release and then with just a few hours start fund raising off by using dirty tricks. Come on, then CNN starts trying to cover their asses for covering the scam by “Breaking News”.

    • Mister Vice

If people choose to contribute to her, why not? It’s THEIR money, isn’t it? Why should anyone care? Unless they are afraid?

  • KATIE

George Snufoloppolos is a shill for Hillary AND Bill. He has never left the Clinton White House. And he probably had the major say in excluding CARLY FIORINA because she is the best [woman] candidate for president and would mop the floor with Hillary in a one on one debate. GO CARLY. VOTE FOR CARLY on Tuesday New Hampshire.

  • Diane Phillips

02/08/16 = Good morning, It seems that Carly Fiorini still believes she has a chance to win. Too many people know all about her work ethic, she will just fade away.

    • KATIE

And Diane, you must have worked in a quilting group to not understand the work ethic that sometimes requires a leader and downsizing involves people losing their jobs. You know, it’s like the Federal government that is so bloated with extra unnecessary bodies watching porn and playing cards all day….we should fire them retroactive. As a taxpayer, Diane, you pay taxes that pay their salaries…….? The government might be more efficient then.

      • Mister Vice

Earth to Katie. Earth to Katie. Are you still with us Katie? We think we’ve lost you to excessive pundit following and reading supermarket rags. Can you hear us Katie? Houston out!

      • Maggiemae

Amen to that Katie. Carly Fiorini had every right to be on stage. I don’t like ABC to begin with and now like them even less. You mean they couldn’t get one more podium for her. Really? This is all about the ‘boy’s’ and their political games. She is a smart, well spoken woman. The government should be run like the business it is…not the pandering it does to keep everyone in positions that ‘we’ pay for that are as worthless as tits on a boar. Any privately owned company would have fired them all! Years ago!!!

        • Mister Vice

“The boys and THEIR political games”? You haven’t been watching Hillary and Nancy very closely, have you? I’d say the “boys” behave pretty naive, if you ask me. Megyn Kelly chewed up Donald and spit him out. And he is supposed to be the acme of one on one.

          • Maggiemae

Oh yah! I’ve watched all of them. I can’t stand Killalry or Piglosi…if that’s the Nancy you’re talking about. I actually don’t consider them ‘women’. Gender wise they may be…wouldn’t put any money on where those genes come from. I like Megyn Kelly….she’s a different breed from the other two. Debates are about getting to the root of what these candidates are all about. How they answer and how they react. She’s not a bitch from hell like the other two.

        • HandmaidenKaren

I so 100% agree with you an Katie about this situation. ABC needs to stop trying to pick and choose who we nominate….and Carly has a right to be on stage. It only tells me that they are trying to sway the vote for someone they want to win, thus disqualifying someone that “they choose” so their candidate wins.

          • Maggiemae

Yep….exactly why I never watch ABC, CBS or NBC for any of my news. Too much fiction…not facts! Too many lies to suit their own needs. Too much bias towards the liberal movement to destroy this country. I don’t know why they don’t just move to China, North Korea or some other country that loves control freaks…leave American a land of the free!

      • Diane Phillips

02/09/16 = Good morning Katie, you seem to believe you are an authority on my life, on Carly Fiorina and the working of our government. You do not know anything about me, very little about Mrs. Fiorina and unnecessary bodies! And…… I know exactly where my taxes are going! That is why I believe that Mr. Trump is the only one, with all of the qualifications and very capable of cleaning up the “mess” in our Country. = For you to assume something about me or anyone is foolish.

        • KATIE

so defensive. I, too, am supporting Trump, but also Kasick and Fiorina. Ms. Fiorina is both honest and intelligent and to castigate her is ignorant.

          • Diane Phillips

02/10/16= Good afternoon Katie, my comment was not defensive, but merely substantiating your lack of knowledge about me. I had been in business for 28 years and I do not need advice about the government or taxes, which you presume that I know nothing about. My comment was my opinion.

    • HandmaidenKaren

It’s we the People who are supposed to decide who is and who isn’t Presidential…not the media…their bias makes me disgusted!

  • Mike Tanco

Carly hasn’t got a prayer. Maybe she wants to be VP?

    • kbfallon

Well I can say this much—-I don’t see anyplace for her in our counties leadership team anywhere. She hasn’t had a job or a position in anything in ten years……she’s not a has been -but a never was and won’t be. She’s plain nasty.

      • KATIE

Mikey, what are you afraid of ? Maybe you just hate honest, intelligence women….

        • Mister Vice

Hate isn’t the word Katie. It is FEAR…

Honestly speaking I am more than ready for female leadership in this country and I pray to God our first woman president is Republican as long as it isn’t S. Palin. I swear I will emigrate to Canada (God forbid) if someone like Clinton or Pelosi get into office!

For cryin’ out loud will everyone please VOTE conservative this year!? Sheesh!

        • Maggiemae

Must be…she is an intelligent, honest and strong woman. Men have a hard time dealing with that.

          • Mister Vice

I don’t. I just run and hide myself under the bed for a day or two. It seems to work.

But I do have a problem with that adjective HONEST being thrown around so loosely. Which woman in politics is honest? I’ll give you until the end of the month to come up with an answer…

          • KATIE

            CARLY FIORINA

          • KATIE

            goodcomments

      • Dee Mabuhay

Carly Fiorina is what a leader should be. She takes command in a very sticky situation. If there is a chance that she become the POTUS, she will not be afraid to get rid of redundancy in the government payroll to eliminate waste, just like what she did in HP to save the company. So, in order to save the country as a whole, she will not hesitate to trim down spending. She is not a PC. I rather have her than Hillary who would make an accelerated downward spiral of this country.

        • kbfallon

Tell that to the 30,000 workers who had good jobs with security–and then Carly decided she wanted to show everyone how smart she was and get HP into printers and such and almost bankrupted the company in the process. This is all a FACT–her saving jobs is her SPIN on how many jobs she saved which is unproven by anybody. I used to hold stock in the company by the way. She was FIRED by the whole board also–another FACT. She couldn’t even get elected to the senate…and hasn’t held a job in ten years! Yes –better than Hillary for sure – but no way for the most important job on the planet !!

      • Mister Vice

How is she “nasty”? She seems clean and pretty respectful to me. She is tough and isn’t overplaying the woman/mother/grandmother thing like Hillary is doing.

        • kbfallon

          her demeanor.

    • Mister Vice

Gotta give her credit for the Hillary slams tho. It IS as entertaining as Trumps thumps!

Until they drop out I never discount anybody from winning. Too many strange, inexplicable things occur in politics.

    • Maggiemae

You are correct, she doesn’t have a prayer…and neither do a number of the men still on stage. However, she deserves as much of an opportunity to be there as the ‘good ole’ boys’ have.

      • Mister Vice

You are sounding like a man hater Maggie. Are you?

        • HandmaidenKaren

Stop the garbage acting. We don’t need this here. Sexism has not place here. Let the best woman or man win. But leave it up to We the People not the media…who seems to be very bias as to who they want to win..then they race bate the candidates and egg them to tear each other apart. Grow up and Let the People decide not the media…and the media aught to quit their baiting the candidates to fight instead of sticking to WHAT THEY ARE GOING TO DO TO BRING AMERICA ABOUT AND IN THE RIGHT DIRECTION. I hate it when they fight and tear each other apart. It is not neessary to win the election!

          • Maggiemae

The media today….is not part of the solution. They are the problem!!!! There is no fair judgement on their part at all…total bias. Exactly why I don’t watch any news on ABC, CBS or NBC. Do not trust them. I had to look up what channel ABC was on…I had never watched it before. Just the debates and will never watch them again.

        • KATIE

          That’s unnecessary Mr. Vice.

          • Mister Vice

What’s unnecessary? My question? In what way? I am not sure why you need to get involved if I didn’t offend the person that I am talking to. I am not a very PC person but I don’t think it is a requirement. I meant no harm to Maggie but I had the notion that maybe she doesn’t like men, so why not ask?

        • Maggiemae

No..Not at all!! I don’t automatically believe a woman has to be President. When the right one comes along, I would support her. That has not happened. At this stage in the game the last person I would ever support is Killary and it has nothing to do with her gender…but her honestly and trustworthyness. I just think that one more person, a female, surely could have been included in the debate to give her more opportunity to express her thoughts. Do I think she would definetly win the nomination…no. I just think the station did wrong in not putting ONE more podium up there. She is smart, well spoken and quick on her feet with her remarks. I think it would have been the right and gracious thing to do.

    • KATIE

      That would be ok.
