Holy Bible on list of ‘challenged’ books at libraries

by HILLEL ITALIE  |  published on April 11, 2016

On the latest list of books most objected to at public schools and libraries, one title has been targeted nationwide, at times for the sex and violence it contains, but mostly for the legal issues it raises.

The Bible.

“You have people who feel that if a school library buys a copy of the Bible, it’s a violation of church and state,” says James LaRue, who directs the Office for Intellectual Freedom for the American Library Association, which released its annual 10 top snapshot of “challenged” books on Monday, part of the association’s “State of Libraries Report” for 2016.

“And sometimes there’s a retaliatory action, where a religious group has objected to a book and a parent might respond by objecting to the Bible.”

LaRue emphasized that the library association does not oppose having Bibles in public schools. Guidelines for the Office for Intellectual Freedom note that the Bible “does not violate the separation of church and state as long as the library does not endorse or promote the views included in the Bible.” The ALA also favors including a wide range of religious materials, from the Quran to the Bhagavad Gita to the Book of Mormon. LaRue added that the association does hear of complaints about the Quran, but fewer than for the Bible.

Transgender bathrooms, the Bible in question…This is all the work of the satan devout POS in the WH….destroying us morally…. 8 more damn months!

  • AS A TEENAGER, I HAD A 5TH AND 6TH GRADE TEACHER who insisted that nothing was a sure fact. Why you might have been stolen from a hospital nursery and raised by the people who stole you, so you really don’t even know who you are. As a result, I went through nerly two years of doubting God and the Bible, but one miraculous event after another in answer to scriptural prayers honestly asking to be shown the truth, I saw how impossible the complexities of nature could have just evolved with no master design and how from both plsant and animal sexual reproduction through physical laws about things like watr compound composed of one ingredient needed for combustion — oxygen — one very explosive element — hydrogen, but when electrolically combined, become water that is used to put out fires. Like most substances, the colder it gets the denser and heavier it gets.except when it reaches 32 degrees Fahrenheit or Zero degrees Centigrade, it becomes ice and is lighter than its water form, so it floats on top of water. It if it didn’t switch it would sink crushing fish, frogs and all sorts of other life forms and at the same time, because the heat of the sun could hardly reach it through the water it would continue to remain frozen on the bottom and more and more Ice formed above and sank, On the other side, when it reaches boiling at 212 degrees Fahrenheit, it turns to steam and becomes a largely invisible form until it forms visible steam or clouds.

Tired of these morons that are crapping on our nation. Our nation is a Christian nation that has tolerances for all other religions . Our nation was founded by Christians , yes there were other religions in our nation when founded but Christianity was the primary religion. For the last bunch of decades certain groups have been chiseling away at our nation’s Christian value system with little resistance . Question is when do the majority stand up to the few that are trying to trash the majority ? When do Christians say in a resounding voice no to the removal of Christian items such as the Bible ? Just when is it that enough is enough ???

There won’t be any Bibles in the Kingdom of God, we won’t need them; for we will all know God. We also won’t need all these lefty teachers and librarians.

Our Declaration of Independence is based upon the idea of liberty as described in the Bible. Our Constitution answers the Biblical indictments raised in the Declaration of Independence. Our republican form of government comes from the Bible, Exodus 18:21; Deuteronomy 1:15-16 & 16:18 and our three branches of government is based on the model in Isaiah 33:22.
The only reason critics say having a Bible in the schools violates separation of church and state is because we accept money from the federal government that has strings attached to it. No where in the Constitution is the federal government to be involved with schools, that belongs to the states.

Read Matthew24, Mark 23, Luke and many other scriptures, in the Bible which was written about 2,000 or more years ago where it describes the days in which we are living. JESUS Christ HIMSELF warned us that this anti-CHRIST evil, in the world, was coming. We are living in the last days.

It makes me cringe, to think of our little children growing up in this growing of evil!!!

Myrtle, there is no Mark 23. Yes, we are living in the last days, but the world has been in the last days since Christ resurrected. Our job until Christ returns is to occupy this arena, see Matthew 25:14-30 and Luke 19:12-27.

Remember we are living behind enemy lines, and we must hamper and frustrate the enemy until the Lord’s return.

The bible is the Word of God given us by the prophets and chosen people of God for a way to properly conduct ourselves. To challenge or ridicule the bible is to spit in the face of God. The bible says “God is not mocked” and those who mock Him will have all eternity to rue the day.

The Bible should be capitalized; I would suggest everyone watch the movie ‘God Is Not Dead 2.’ It is a GREAT movie.

      • got that right

  • One day, everyone the world over will be taught the words of the bible and will obey those words in the bible. That time will be during the 1000 years of peace and Satan will be put away. We don’t have a date, but only some signs showing us when that time is coming. Right now, we know we’re in the end times, but much more is coming first…some happenings are already here. The best way to be prepared is to stay close to God and continue to obey him, as He promises to protect those that love and obey him.

We are blessed with a truly loving God, and not the devil the muslims worship, but how about loving him and not constantly challenging him. Is that really a smart thing to be doing?
It seems pretty simple, but there appear to be some who don’t get it.
