IRS doesn’t tell 1 MILLION taxpayers that illegals stole their Social Security numbers

by Stephen Dinan - The Washington Times  |  published on August 31, 2016

The IRS has discovered more than 1 million Americans whose Social Security numbers were stolen by illegal immigrants, but officials never bothered to tell the taxpayers themselves, the agency’s inspector general said in a withering new report released Tuesday.

Investigators first alerted the IRS to the problem five years ago, but it’s still not fixed, the inspector general said, and a pilot program meant to test a solution was canceled — and fell woefully short anyway.

As a result, most taxpayers don’t learn that their identities have been stolen and their Social Security files may be screwed up.

“Taxpayers identified as victims of employment-related identity theft are not notified,” the inspector general said.

The report alarmed lawmakers on Capitol Hill, who were shocked that the IRS had gone for so long without fixing the issue.

No Obama didn’t dream this up. I have been doing taxes and accounting since 1992 and it was going on then. In most cases I found it to be under age legal citizens or legal citizens that didn’t work at a get paid by check, take out taxes job. They uses these social security numbers to file taxes with children either their own children or someone else’s. They then avoid any income tax, and claim earned income credit. When doing this they get huge refund checks, in most cases. This is also is one way of abusing Medicaid and welfare. The IRS don’t seem to care let alone stop it. I sent in reports over the years where I suspected fraud and very little was done if anything in most cases. In 2013 the fraud for earned income credit and the child tax credit, both are refundable credits, which means it’s money paid to the tax filer they didn’t pay in. The amount known about was 12.5 billion dollars. The irs supposedly has better software now to slow Down fraud, but I haven’t seen much proof. The rules are strict enough but not enforced. If they followed the laws already there when they catch people, it would slow Down much of this. When they are allowed to commit fraud because of many reasons, one being it’s done by illegals, another it’s don’t by poor people already on welfare they don’t seem to want to punish the offenders. The fraud In the states Medicaid programs are as bad or worse. No one really knows the true amounts. The kicker is the same illegal doing this can vote also when their state don’t require a picture I.D. Now my way of thinking is why would any politicians allow such things? They may vote using the stolen or borrowed social security number and have an I.D. with their real name on it. So they could be walking around with two different names on their person. These idiots cry out racism and it’s not fair to minorities to make them have I.D. how is it unfair when to file taxes, get welfare, and cash a check they have to have one. It all don’t pass the smell test to me, maybe I’m just to simple to think it should be the same for all of us, to keel things fair and honest as possible.

It’s planned down to the finest detail. It all started in the US, 1913, with the fed, and it had slowly grown it’s cancer. Continued for years unnoticed. Kennedy tried to fix some things. Since then, it’s accelerated at an ever increasingly rapid pace. soros is old. he wants to see us on our knees before he dies.

          • Mary Eleanor Urso

I remember that and I always wondered why the Repubilcan who was beat in the primary didn’t do anything about it. I just think we have lost the country because in our government Democrats are inherently dishonest and crooked and Republicans are perfectly willing to go along with it. Our politicians are ALL in it for themselves. And as far as the public goes… Libs, who have taken over the Democrat Party, have no objection to the crookedness and dishonesty of their leaders and Republicans, for some stupid reason, won’t fight; they are perfectly willing to sit back and let their country be destroyed. Talk about a lack of patriotism!

I didn’t know someone had stolen my Social Security number until I filled out the financial aid forms for my son’s college applications. I was notified twice to redo the forms using my “correct” county of origin/birth. The whole situation was too involved to describe here, but after many calls to Social Security and Immigration Services, plus a trip to the Social Security offices, I learned that someone in Indiana was working a full time job with my SS number at the same time I was living and working in Florida. What a feat! What an accomplishment! And I was the one who had to prove my identity, not her, because she simply disappeared when the scam was up, probably using someone else’s number. Luckily she only “borrowed” my number for work purposes, and thank god she didn’t use it for loans. But I do know others aren’t so lucky. I will say at one point I was getting so discouraged in the “proof of identity” part that I was seriously trying to decide which country I would like to be deported to. I decided that if worse came to worse, I would tell them I was from Tahiti.

Inexcusable m but since SSA has to pay a contractor now for access to systems and denied access what can we do since the COUP OF 2002 when Congress voted to overthrow the USA into the control of an international cabal of government contractors who have robbed us of out monies and rights. and cannot be audits nor prosecuted when an inside job at ACS . which my case indicates as shared on line. All that has to be done is send out a letter to the address and have each sign what employers were theirs. The real person answers and the thief would not and then correct the record. SSA IS AN AGENCY THAT JUST CANNOT BE CONTRACTED OUT IN ANY PART OF IT AS ITS JUST TOO COMPLEX AND CONTRACTORS do not have the legal authority to make the kinds of changes with all the due process rights and co signatures needed to alter records. BUT its not secure with contractors and has been. hacked from the inside and all kinds of things deleted and altered and this is everyone’s business and rights and future benefits being messed with

  • DrBillLemoine

Make up your minds, conservatives. Do you want more government control or less? This article finds that IRS should have notified taxpayers of stolen social security numbers and fixed the problem–which is unspecified as hacking, or something else. Fixing anything but an electronic problem of hacking requires congressional action, unless IRS made a mistake in their processes. And IRS sends annual reports to taxpayers of their Social Security status in quarters and dollars paid. So what’s the problem; what’s the fix you expect; who should do it under existing IRS regulations, if they exist? I’m confused.

    • 1947goldenjet

Dr. Bill, please. If you owe the IRS money they contact you by registered mail for which you have to sign a receipt. I see no reason why they can’t do the same when they see evidence of more than one person using the same SS number. That would not take an act of Congress. That wouldn’t even take an executive order. The IRS has the ability to make that an operational practice.

      • DrBillLemoine

After personal and company tax preparation for years, I’ve never gotten ‘registered mail’ from IRS. If you are summoned to court, that might be different, although none of my clients or myself have ever been sued for taxes due. I don’t know where you got that.
Are you aware of the mechanics of reprogramming highly sophisticated and high speed tax reading computers, or the cost? It’s not a simple program I know as a former teacher of program analysis and programming. I still write my own programs in retirement.
I guess there is no mandate for such notifications or computer changes. Agencies follow their mandates in law and regulations to avoid charges of unequal treatment. Speak to your congressman and senator about tax reform. Ability to change isn’t a mandate to do something couched in so much tax law.

        • 1947goldenjet

Personal experience. Everything any government does costs money. I would suggest that they put off their team building seminars and invest in a system that can notify people when their SS number has been compromised.

          • DrBillLemoine

Again, call, write or visit your representatives with your suggestion. My suggestion would be for congress to legislate cybersecurity protection for national security in-country and abroad. Guess you’ve never worked in a large organization where ‘team building’ is vital for personnel improvement and external contact. It’s called effective and efficient government.

          • 1947goldenjet

Is 1,200 people large? And in regards to the IRS, the only indication that it may have worked is their concerted effort to stymie right of center organizations in their attempts to gain not for profit status. For the average taxpayer—not so much.

          • DrBillLemoine

No, 89500 employees is large, the actual total of IRS employees. What do you mean, ‘it may have worked’? Unclear antecedent.
Are you aware that someone misinterpreted a fundamental word in the law and that right wing organizations were made tax exempt wrongly. No political activity is allow for tax exempts. All those group already classified tax exempt who are currently involved in politics must lose their status or give up politicking. It’s a monumental job by itself and not very popular among tax exempt groups losing their status on the political right.
BTW tax laws are simple enough for the moderately educated reader and those who pay attention to details, not a strength on the far right. lol

          • 1947goldenjet

Ok. Thanks for setting the parameters for me. Hereafter, large to me will only be in excess of 89,000
people. By the way, do you know if all 89,000 people
were able to attend these team building seminars, or were the seminars only for the elite?
Why did they nearly exclusively focus on right of center groups while left of center groups faced nary a problem?
Reports are that the group in Cincinnati had to await decision making from Washington whenever a right of center group sought non profit status. That seems more political than a mere tax issue to me. Don’t trouble yourself with a refutation, I already accept that you have one.
As far as tax laws being simple enough for a moderately educated reader and those who pay attention to detail, surely you jest. The 2014 tax code was 73,914 pages. I salute you for having them all memorized. I do want to point out however, that 40 years earlier the tax code was 19,500 pages.
I’ll ignore your attempt to bully my grammar and by the way, I am far from being on the far right.
On points in contention, we will have to agree to disagree. Until the next time–pax.

          • DrBillLemoine

Inservice training is a side issue, a rabbit hole, raised by you to deter the thread from the issue at hand.
In particular right wing groups were found engaging in political activity, but it may be all recent exempted groups. It’s just that the rulings on the right were for clearly operating political active groups. None should violate the law or be approved for politicking in the future.
You must remember that the office charged with interpreting and enforcing the tax exempts is in Republican territory–Cincinnati OH. It should be investigated whether politics were involved in misinterpreting and misapplying the law regardless of their bosses and pay grades.
About tax law, not every part of the law is needed by individuals. You are blowing smoke to suggest it. It’s not the number of pages that count but the topics.
Regardless of your politics, you can be clear in prose. That’s it.

Social Security numbers can be verified, easily and on line.

Until employers are held legally responsible, the problems will continue. Oh, and illegals can very easily obtain Tax Identification Numbers (TIN)s.

Oh, and foolish one, the majority of illegals enter the country qyite legally. Most on employment visas. They simply stay when the visa expires.

Who in America gains from illegals?

While getting welfare, free Obamacare, WIN refunds, and taking jobs that our citizens could really use. They do work hard and are fairly honest usually and they often work under the table so that the taxes are actually going to the employer. Sometimes the employers write them up as real workers getting paid regular wages, SS taxes, income taxes, etc., which has often allowed the employer to claim the full amount and put the money towards someone in their family or some other acct.

Now think about this. Banks or hackers have gotten huge dollar amounts just by putting fractions of pennies that were rounded off into special accounts. Gas stations have been caught by FTC putting tenths of cents into special accounts (you know the 10th I’m talking about) and getting huge accounts.

          • AKLady2015

Capitalism has pointed Americans at the refugee regarleass of their legality. The focus should be on employers.

Illegal migrants do not qualify for the majority of benefits you have listed. If you had checked the eqligibility reqyirements published by your state, you would know that.

They do recieve limited Medicaid, uf they qualify financially. That is a national security issue. Disease epidemics spread quiccly and kill manu people.

          • Elaine Blackman

I had to look up the Obamacare penalties on whether or not we could declare someone as a dependent. The IRS rules said that illegal residents didn’t have to pay for Obamacare. It SAID that!! You look it up.
And it doesn’t really matter what laws are on the books when it comes to illegals, does it? You look up the national laws and they shouldn’t even BE HERE illegally. Hence, the word “illegal”.
Also, look it up in the laws. Are dead people supposed to be able to vote? Guess what!! They OFTEN do!! And are illegals allowed to vote? They often do, too.
Then there’s the matter of electoral votes for districts. That’s based on the census and they aren’t allowed to ask if someone is legal or illegal. So CA, FL and TX get larger numbers of votes because of all the illegal residents in a state. Fair? I don’t think so.

          • AKLady2015

Insurance companies will not insure illegals.
Dead people dp not vote. Thw majority of states/counties match voter regstrations lists to death certificates.

It is obvious with this information that no one will look online and see for themselves that this tax is not owed because of “no liability for tax”.

        • granvillea

Great advice to send people to jail. This supposed “fact” is totally false and the federal prisons are full of idiots that followed this particular BS, particularly citizens in the Western US (Montana, Utah, Idaho and Washington State)

          • Alvis Jenkins

granvillea: It would be true if you knew what you’re talking about. However your statement is not based upon any law that supports your position. I have never been to jail for not paying income taxes from way back in 1998. So, what you need to do is get some education before you spew out lies on a tax you know nothing about.

          • granvillea

The fact that you as an individual have not been prosecuted merely shows that you fell through the cracks of an IRS, which like most government agencies is incompetent. To claim that somehow this makes your position accurate is not only stupid, but dangerous to any one foolish enough to believe you.

As a retired Tax Attorney, trained at NYU Graduate LLM Tax School, I can assure you I know more about the tax law than you apparently do. Your position is a long discredited one and there are literally hundreds if not thousands of poor misguided fools who are either in prison today, or who have been to federal prison in the past for listening to idiots like you. The fact that you may have been fortunate enough to have not been discovered by the IRS so far is far from a valid endorsement of a legal position that has been repeatedly proven in court to have no merit.

You cannot point to a single case where your position has withstood judicial scrutiny in Federal Court. So again, I would warn any readers to avoid this advice like the poison that it is, unless you really like the idea of Asset Forfeiture and Federal Prison. I am no more a fan of our current tax law system than anyone else but to advise people they may simply not pay taxes without consequence demonstrates lack of knowledge on your part at best and a willingness to purposefully endanger fellow American’s at worst.

          • Alvis Jenkins

granvillea: When you graduated from your claimed law school, did you get your degree certificate at Staples? If you know so much more than I do about tax law, why haven’t you supported your claim by citing federal law of 26 U.S.C. and the “controlling regulations”? Do you even know where to locate within the Government where these controlling regulations are provided? I bet you money you cannot give me by citation, where there is a controlling regulation for 26 U.S.C. section 6331 for unpaid income taxes. So, put your money where your mouth is or you will just show simply how ignorant you are of your professed claim as a retired tax attorney.
If anything you are poison to those who would like to know that the tax they pay is not owed. I have a quote from my Congressman, Dennis A. Ross (who has a degree in law) that has made the following statement to me in a personal letter complete with the Washington D.C. letterhead, stating that the current tax code does not specifically state individual American’s liability for “payment of federal taxes”. Maybe you would call him a liar? Why not inquire of him or his staff and ask if the Congressman did indeed write such a letter to his constituent and state that American’s have no liability for payment of federal taxes.
You are now on the defensive to prove that there is a “controlling regulation” for section 6331 that applies for unpaid income taxes. I’m betting you can’t do it, Mr. Retired tax Attorney!!!!!

          • granvillea

Were it not for the 16th Amendment to the US Constitution adopted in 1913, which overruled the Pollock Case, you might have had an argument for your interpretation of the US Code. But since February 1913, when the US Constitution was amended to give Congress the ability to levy a tax that was non-proportional to the states, in other words an Income Tax, the Personal and Corporate Income Tax has been the law of the land in the United States.

Arguing that the only authority for the collection of taxes is Section 6331, or for that matter that only employees of the Federal Government are subject to taxation or any of a series of other idiotic positions not only have never held up in a Federal Court, have also in almost every case where a the IRS has pushed the issue have also been held to be “Frivolous” claims and are subject therefor to very, very substantial penalties on top of the taxes and interest owed.

I owe neither you, nor any reader the time and effort necessary to demonstrate just how foolish and misinformed you are. If anyone is interested in a relatively complete disposition of virtually all the specious claims of tax protesters such as yourself and the supporting case law and statutory authority I would point you to https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tax_protester_statutory_arguments which outlines not only your completely ridiculous argument, but also most of the other idiotic tax protester arguments as well.

I have fairly warned anyone that might be foolish enough to listen to your idiocy and unless you would like to pay me my $500 an hour rate, I will waste no more time on your moronic argument.

As to your Congressman, as I have not seen your letter, I do not know what you are likely misinterpreting from what he may have actually told you (Self-delusion is a regular problem with the entire class of Income Tax Protesters). Or for that matter, knowing that many true idiots are regularly elected to Congress, it may just be that you are blessed to have such a Congressman. In either case it does not change the underlying inaccuracy of your position.

I hope for your sake the IRS continues to miss catching up with you, as I certainly wish no ill on any fool. But depending on the continuing chance that you will not be caught is not something I would want to plan my life around.

          • Alvis Jenkins

You are so nonsensical that its pathetic! You are a real nut case to say you’re a tax attorney?
You have demonstrated that you lack knowledge of the income tax by the question I put before you, because you could not answer it.
I never implied that section 6331 was the only authority for collection of income tax. I wonder what makes you so stupid when I ask you for the “controlling regulation” of which you think actually exists for unpaid income taxes when The IRS levies assets of an alleged taxpayer? Well dummy, I’ll tell you the answer, there is NO controlling regulation for section 6331 when the IRS under color of law enforces the levy for unpaid income taxes. For your information because you don’t know anything about the “Parallel Table of Authorities” provided by the United States Government Printing Office, the ONLY controlling regulation for the levy (section 6331) is 27 C.F.R. 70.161 for unpaid ATFE taxes. This has proven your ignorance, that the IRS cannot “lawfully” use the levy to enforce nonpayment of federal income taxes.
Apparently in your alleged law school, you have not researched all of the U.S. Supreme Court cases on the subject of income and until you do, you’ll believe what only you want to believe and remain totally ignorant of the law. You said I could not cite one case law where any tax protester won against the IRS. Ever heard of Tom Cryer (now deceased) a lawyer of Louisana who beat the IRS. How about Robert Lawrence of Peoria, Illinois? How about Joe Bannister a former IRS CID agent? The reason these people are not known as case law winners against the IRS is because the Government stopped them from being published whereas the cases where the Government allegedly wins, they are published.
As for what you purport to know about federal taxes I wouldn’t even think of paying you one cent, much less 500 FRN’s, which is fake money.
Until you can cite current law and regulations and prove to me that the Supreme Court ruled that direct taxes did not have to be apportioned, I rest my case trying to tell someone that has so little knowledge otherwise. If anything, others should be commenting for you to cite the law and regulations rather than beating around the bush with nonsensical statements. Ever thought about going to my law school? The IRS respects my knowledge because I had one of the nation’s top tax experts as teacher.
Lets see some tax facts, tax guru!!!

          • granvillea

As I said Tax Protesters are notoriously self delusional, so I will not waste any more time with Mr. Jenkins. The so-called “cases” Mr. Jenkins cites are neither relevant to his point as none of them were won based on his specious argument, and all were where the IRS made such grievous procedural errors that they were dismissed pre-trial which is why they are not “published”. There is no grand conspiracy, trying to “fool” people into paying “voluntary” taxes. These are just arguments that the courts consistently dismiss as frivolous which as I mentioned before exposes the taxpayer claiming these arguments to huge penalties.

Any reader who is not so caught up in the idiocy of Tax Protester lore, should take a look at the Wiki I previously pointed you to that outlines every one of the so-called arguments that the Tax Protesters utilize and show you their actual total lack of success when litigated. Anyone that after reading those wants to play Russian Roulette with a fully loaded Automatic handgun, have at it. I for one will avoid suicidal acts with my assets. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tax_protester_statutory_arguments

          • Alvis Jenkins

I’m glad you don’t want to waste anymore of my time and that is very good!!! You lie about the income tax law, so you must be kin to Hillary Clinton. When you cannot answer simple questions of where a law is cited, you make yourself a true idiotic person. When you are paying your fair share, how about volunteering to pay a share for me and tell the IRS you are doing it for me, and I’m sure the IRS will thank you with a big laugh.

you are so right…if they report it the illegal loses his/her job and the IRS loses the money….they drag their heels as long as possible..it’s a large source of income for them. My brother used to be in Human Resources for Manufacturing and they saw this over and over.

        • Elaine Blackman

That would explain why they don’t get the new SS numbers while the one who can prove their citizenship has to.

      • Elaine Blackman

This has been going on for decades, which most of the border state residents have known of. What’s more, everyone that I heard of who had their numbers stolen were told by SS that they would have to get new numbers because they couldn’t tell who had the number first, but they could separate the earnings exactly. SS and our government have been helping illegals come in to steal our identities for a long time. So they would never have called Obama out for having a CT number of a deceased CT resident.

        • AKLady2015

          BS piled higher and deeper.
Tracking a stolen SSN is really quite simple.

Yes, if your SS nunber is stolen, you are issued a new number. Why would anyone want to keep the stolen one?

          • Elaine Blackman

You’re right on both counts, but the point is that they don’t even try to catch the person stealing the number.

      Tiger,
Don’t forget about the Money STOLEN from social Security (medicare) fund to pay for OSCUMBAG CARE ALSO!

      • Retired

That actually went to Medicaid. O care put many more people into the Medicaid system than health Insurance.

        • pappy450

So it actually went to MORE welfare scumbags.
          (oscumbags homies!) GREAT!
BUT is STILL got robbed from “the Lockbox” that got Unlocked YEARS ago by LBJ and has stayed a “piggy bank” for anyone in Government that needs a dime to put the screws to “we the Taxpayers” AGAIN.

          • Elaine Blackman

It’s worse than that. Obamacare raised the rates of insurance even for that “affordable health care act” and put a lot of people out of any kind of health care due to the rates and the deductibles. It’s too bad the government can’t be charged with false advertising under FTC laws.

The Medicare Trust was cleaned out a long time ago.

You have been reading fiction again, or maybe dreaming.

Medicaid is administered by the states, not the fed. The states have authority to limit services as long as the services provided are adequate in “amount, duration, and scope” to satisfy the person’s medical needs.

Here is the Board of Trustees report: https://www.cms.gov/Research-Statistics-Data-and-Systems/Statistics-Trends-and-Reports/ReportsTrustFunds/downloads/tr2016.pdf

          • Retired

If the Government told you pop was white, you would believe them ? Obama took Millions from Medicare to Medicaid. The O’care added many to Medicaid instead of Insurance. Just like the Gov. will never tell how many actually pay for O’care just how many signed up. You are always the opposite of what is happening in the real world.

          • AKLady2015

I am a disability advocate. I see people go from functioning and employed to 100% disabled at least once a month. It happens because they have been injured or become seriously ill. When the paycheck goes, so does the health insurance and the medical care. They end up in a shelter, friends home or their car. Some end up in tents. When they are totally broke, they can get some assistence while fighting Social Security. Here in Alaska, the state gives them $280 a month, 1 doctor visit, and 3 prescriptions. When that point is reached, they have lost everything they worked for all their lives.
Enjoy your life out there in the not so real world. Hopefully you live somewhere help is available when you go broke after the broken hip.

          • Retired

I have seen how people use the system: If they have a true disability SS does not balk and it only takes 6 month. But if people piss it away on the bar stool instead of saving why should the taxpayer pay for their laziness?

          • AKLady2015

Oh, Retired, you have no idea…
Certainly, there are some mental and physical imparments that automatically qualify.
On the other hand, there are many that do not. That is a huge problem when an individual has multiple impairments which combine for total disability — none of which qualify in isolation from the others.
Up until a couple of years ago, there wasen’t even a SS disability hearing officer in Alaska. One case I had a few years ago was beyond belief. The hearing officer assigned to the case was blind. He had an assistant to “see” for him.
My client’s claim was denied. Two years later, when the appeal made it to federal court, the case manager and I were talking to the federal attorney in the hall before the hearing. He decided the case before it ever went before the judge — because he could see and hear the problems with his own eyes.
No, your assaumptions are what put disabled people in the streets. That is especially true in regard to disabilities not apparent to the naked eye.

            Published August 21, 2013 FoxNews.com

Study: Welfare pays more than minimum wage in most states
Welfare pays more than a minimum-wage job in 35 states, creating little incentive for Americans to take entry-level work and likely increasing their long-term dependency on government help, according to a new study by the libertarian think tank Cato Institute.
The finds come 17 years after the Clinton administration, with bipartisan support from Congress, passed landmark welfare reform legislation that was supposed to move Americans away from entitlements and into the workforce.
However, “welfare benefits continue to outpace the income that most recipients can expect to earn from an entry-level job,” the study authors said. “And the balance between welfare and work may actually have grown worse in recent years.”
Among the other findings is that welfare in 13 states pays more than $15 an hour, compared with the federal hourly minimum wage of $7.25.
The disparity was even higher in nine states in which welfare pays more than the average first-year teacher’s salary and in the six most-generous states, which pay more than the entry-level salary for a computer programmer.

Actually they also took more than $500 Million a year out of Medicare to fund Obamacare as they also destroyed Medicare Advantage for most retirees.

Reminder: Obamacare passed without a single Republican vote
by In the news Wednesday, November 20. 2013

            by NW Spotlight
Back in 2009 and 2010, Democrats controlled the White House and the U.S. House and U.S. Senate. President Obama, Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid and then House Speaker Nancy Pelosi rammed Obamacare through without a single Republican vote.
The Washington Post said of the Obamacare fight at the time “It has inflamed the partisanship that Obama pledged to tame when he campaigned for the White House and has limited Congress’s ability to pass any other major legislation.”
In December 2009, the U.S. Senate voted 60 to 39 for Obamacare. The Washington Post reported “The Senate bill passed without a single GOP vote.”
In March 2010, the U.S. House voted 219 to 212 for Obamacare. 34 House Democrats and all of the House Republicans voted against Obamacare. The NO votes were the only bipartisan votes.
President Obama signed the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (Obamacare) on March 23, 2010.

          • AKLady2015

            Congress makes the laws.
            Congress spends the money.
            You elect Congress.
Maybe you should make better choices.

          • Elaine Blackman

You seem to be the only one who didn’t know that not one Republican voted for Obamacare and you still seem to be ignorant of that fact even though I printed it out for you. Otherwise, how can you still say that I needed to vote better? You’re really too incongruous.

I never helped to elect any of those Democrats, so I guess you need to make better choices.

One more thing, do “refugees” fall under state or federal laws? The states aren’t the ones allowing them in or bringing them in, so my guess they’re under federal mandate.

      • Tiger

Indeed heard a depressing congressional hearing on SS. I mean depressing. Nobody on SS takes they gave for 30 plus years to pay for this pitiful amount they get paid when they do take it.

        • AKLady2015

Social Security was never intended to be the sole source of anyone’s retirement funding.

“We can never insure one hundred percent of the population against one hundred percent of the hazards and vicissitudes of life, but we have tried to frame a law which will give some measure of protection to the average citizen and to his family against the loss of a job and against poverty-ridden old age.”–
President Roosevelt upon signing Social Security Act

          • Retired

Who was the President that took away $100.00 and raised the age for you ?

        • Retired

They stole $100.00 dollars a month and raised the age to 67 for full benefits. But congress does not live by those rules.

          • AKLady2015

Members of Congress are eligible for a pension at the age of 62 if they have completed at least five years of service. Members are eligible for a pension at age 50 if they have completed 20 years of service, or at any age after completing 25 years of service. The amount of the pension depends on years of service and the average of the highest three years of salary. By law, the starting amount of a Member’s retirement annuity may not exceed 80% of his or her final salary.

          • Retired

That is why they should be paid just like SS as well as age before receiving a pension.

That is right. They know there are billions in savings accounts, 401ks etc across this country and if people believe an H nomination won’t be looking to take that, I mean O has already told people how much they are allowed to save for retirement, then they are going to be surprised.

I was almost a victim of ID theft after being notified by my bank someone was charging things on my card. I took care of that and I got calls from four other banks someone was trying to open accounts in my name. I called all the credit bureaus and put out a fraud alert. Finally all was quiet until three months ago when I got a call from another bank about someone trying to open an account. I now have a 7 year fraud alert at all three credit bureaus. I know it had to be the IRS hack because no one else could have both my birthdate and social security number. Keep close attention to your accounts as the IRS is incompetent.

          • MCS

We have had the same thing….again…..two attempts with a Discover card, and one with my spouse’s ATM card. In both cases, we were notified by the banks and new cards issued immediately. The bank told us that a “ring” was captured in the Los Angeles area that had NUMEROUS cards / accounts already printed and ready to use. They also were able to get the computer hardware with everything on it…….GOOD! But, where one group gets caught, more do not. LifeLock is our new friend.

They’re dumb like a fox. While we keep running around chasing our tails, they’re doing more mayhem. Just read “big news”, Republicans refused to allocate more money to Vets. Why? Reid wanted bozo to have free reign with Iran, and would not allow any amendments. We see what has happened in Iran. Read a little down the article, the vote was in 2014.
What’s the cover up? The Podesta Brothers Group. One runs clinton’s campaign, the other is registered as a Foreign Agent for saudi arabia. My opinion. Everything is a coverup for something else, hoping you won’t notice.

IRS stands for : Internal Ripoff Service, but its official name is : The Federal Mafia with the letters IRS in a circle next to it, a registered trademark. Anyone doing business with the IRS concerning federal income tax, is incompetent of tax law and are slaves to the federal government.

And it is not told that O took from SS to pay for his refugees. Yes people we must get our country back and take all these hacks in every agency down. Jail sounds good.

The proper punishment for treason is a firing squad. If those in need of this punishment were so gifted with it, it would use up a lot of the excess ammunition we’ve been hearing all the alphabet agencies had purchased.

But it WOULD be a GOOD use!!!

I have wonderful dreams of nooses all in a row
With all the traitors wiggling their toes
At the end of a rope as they dangle
For our nations well being they gambled.

          Amen
