Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell said Friday that he has enough votes to get the GOP’s $1.4 trillion-plus tax-cut plan across the finish line, as Republican holdouts gradually started to fall in line.
“We have the votes,” Mr. McConnell said as he walked into the chamber.
Sen. Jeff Flake of Arizona, who had expressed concerns about the bill’s effects on federal deficits, announced Friday he’d back the bill after securing an agreement to work on a solution for young illegal immigrants in the U.S. under the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program.
