Pope: Trump ‘Not Christian’

by MEGHAN KENEALLY  |  published on February 18, 2016

Pope Francis took umbrage at comments Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump has made about immigrants, saying in an interview that the real estate mogul was “not Christian.”

The pope’s strong dismissal of Trump was in response to measures Trump has proposed on the campaign trail, including building a wall along the U.S.-Mexican border and deporting millions of undocumented immigrants living and working in the U.S.

When asked by a reporter, “Can a good Catholic vote for this man?” Francis responded by saying, “Thank God he said I was a politician, because Aristotle defined the human person as ‘animal politicus.’ So at least I am a human person. As to whether I am a pawn — well, maybe, I don’t know. I’ll leave that up to your judgment and that of the people.”

He continued: “And then, a person who thinks only about building walls, wherever they may be, and not building bridges, is not Christian. This is not in the gospel. As far as what you said about whether I would advise to vote or not to vote, I am not going to get involved in that. I say only that this man is not Christian if he said things like that. We must see if he said things in that way and in this I give the benefit of the doubt.”

The pope made these remarks before he concluded his visit to Mexico, which included a public Mass at the U.S.-Mexico border. Tens of thousands of people from both countries gathered for Mass.

The Pope is an idiot, he sits on his throne in his castle called “The Vatican” encircled by what? A wall? Well you don’t say, the freaking Pope has a wall around his humble gold plated, jewel encrusted city-state. Since the Pope was so kind as to share his view of walls with us, he won’t be upset if we tore HIS down, right? Hypocritical bastard!

  • Chuck Henley

Then neither is the Pope– my Bible very clearly tells me to “Judge not lest I be judged the same.” Maybe the Pope hasn’t read all the Bible. I don’t believe the Pope has ever worn a military uniform and taken up arms to protect the freedoms he enjoys along with the rest of the free world — maybe he should stick to his real job of saving souls, and leave the judgement of individuals to God, as the Bible clearly tells Christians to do.

Obama and the Pope have something in common, they are both socialist. They also both want to see America turned into a third world country by invading America with 10s of millions of illegal aliens that will help to bankrupt us and destroy our society. The pope needs to stay outbid the affairs of the US. If he wants to be involved in politics mess with your own country of South Ametica and fix them first before you destroy the US.

  • Patrick Davis

You’d think as blatantly Obama has treaded on us that he would be taken out. Don’t allow him to pick another supreme court judge, never before, in my 60 yr.s did I foresee a communist or socialist on the ballot. God & country “not Allah” excuse me but our constitution is to be and was interrupted from a Christian perception. We don’t need to become another quagmire, when you come to my house you leave your issues at the door. I can’t let a camel stick his noise in the tent, because in nottime I’ll be outside while the camel is in after pushing me out.

Come on, Hippocrates saying that while behind your own walls at the Vatican.. Lol you’re kidding me, you don’t get in a strong man’s house, you first have to distract him.. Remember that, you’re a fend, you mean he is not a Catholic, you guys have a history of killing Christians. Asshole. Jesus, in Mathew said it’s best not to judge so who do you think you are? Why was it called the dark ages, Hippocrates chaining the Bible to a wall and so arrogant to believe you’re the only one’s that interpret correctly. Wrong, your strategy is reflected in your actions to weaken the U.S. border. It’s sad that the Pope miss guides multitudes of wonderful people , as well as, playing a roll in the creation of the religion of Islam and the exulting of Mohammad, again miss guided wonderful people, but the jihad our who work things in concert with the Pope at the Muslim expense. Sick, Pope is OK with Obama maybe because he is Muslim? Why is Obama so arrogant about gun Law’s.

…Papal hypocrite. How soon we forget!

Pope Francis, however, attacks capitalism regularly, and simultaneously calls for capitalist America to accept anyone who wants to cross our borders.

Oddly, he does not hold the same policy with regard to Vatican City, which has one of the strictest immigration policies in the world.

…Papal hypocrite. How soon we forget!

The naval Battle of Ostia took place in 849 between some Saracen (Muslim) pirates and an Italian league of Papal, Neapolitan, Amalfitan and Gaetan ships. The battle ended in favor of the Italian league, as they beat off the pirates. It is one of the few events to occur in southern Italy during the ninth century that is still remembered today, largely for the walls named after Leo. The Leonine Wall.

In the aftermath of the battle, much booty washed ashore and was pillaged by the locals, per ius naufragii (right of shipwreck.) The prisoners taken in battle were sent to work in chain gangs building the Leonine Wall which was to encompass the Vatican Hill. Rome would never again be threatened by an Arab army.[1]

did the Pope just dropped a FIB he gives out his opinion then tells the whole world watching and listen that he will not get involved ! , that too funny he just did

  • SL

The Bible says….”Judge not…lest you be judged”. Did you forget this? Love your neighbor as yourself! Did you forget this also?Apparently the Pope hasn’t read this part of the Bible.

The pope is the worst in our history, and is no Christian himself. He’s nothing but a democrat hack and needs to stay out of politic and pray forgiveness for himself. Him and obama are both pieces of human waste and not worth a crap walking riding or flying.

  • kielie698

Of course its all political. The pope is being told where to go for everything. He has no say in it. His strings are being pulled that’s for sure. He is not the one in charge of his daily going’s and coming’s. Isn’t it strange that his visit is made when we are in our political process to elect a leader of our country? Isn’t it strange that he would hold a mass on the borders of the two countries?? He is via his leaders, being told exactly where to be and exactly when. Talk about not being a good Christian. He can be played with Backdoor tactics, say his little “Trump is not a good Christian” speech, Hold a mass on the border of two countries and say it all in the name of peace, but who decided this for his visits? Who made the arrangements, how long before? It is very wrong for this man to come here and preach when he is being a puppet himself. All for political gain. Blessing a child does not put milk on the table. Where is all the money that his visits entail that could have been given to the poor. All I am saying is that if you talk the talk, you should walk the walk. Mexico and its people need help as far as the drug lords running their country, and that is why they want entry into our country. But along with the good, the bad come too. We need to have a legal process when one enters and that is fine. But to keep smuggling into our country is wrong. I have said it all before, that the USA should have another state or country added to our own. Why not Mexico? That helps everyone out. People could stay in their own state and not fear as we would take and clean up the corruption. And then we would all be united as the Pope wishes.

  • El

I think the Pope was way out of bounds on this. He had no right to interfere with the right of the USA to protect its borders. This is improper for a foreign dignitary to do. Our border is violated continually by people’s disrespectful of our government and we need to solve this problem. I can’t help if this was politically motivated to sway power from Trump.

Pope when you were here in america Obama ignored you when you were on the potem and he is not a Christian you can not lie and deceive others and no be judged the only difference between Obama and Isis is he hides behind a false front and the Isis are up front showing their true color

  • Deanna Sharp

where in the Lords word does it say a mere man can judge another. pope you can not look in his heart or soul and know he has not come to the cross of Christ calvary it also says if he has not sin he is a liar and the truth does not abide in him. when is the last time you ask Jesus to forgive your sins sir. you are a mere man and not under the authority to judge or condenm a person. as to the cross of calvary God says Judge not least ye be judge and thinks thou are not judged what so ever you judge of one then do the same and not be judge more from it guess again. You need t pray for others and leave judgement in Gods hands he did not give you that authority

  • Taking care of business!

It works out well, because neither is the pope. The Roman Church began their heresy in the 500s, building a papal apostasy, establishing and/or imposing such as purgatory, the ever-virgin and worship of the virgin Mary, selling of indulgences, torturing, imprisoning, murdering non-believers and true Bible believing christians., forbidding christians to own a Bible, at risk of being burned alive, black masses, sexual misconduct, founding Islam, constructing the eccumential, one-world, coexhist, religious movement of Antichrist, etc. There ARE good Roman Catholics, the ones not given over to the human-fraility dictates of the papacy.

    • Deanna Sharp

      hurrah truth will out

Pope sit back run your church and keep your nose out of the worlds business. If that is the case you are calling about 67% of American’s non Christian. as they side with trump on illegal’s. You old school boys just don’t get it yet, PEOPLE WANT OUT WITH THE OLD WAY OF THINKING< IN WITH THE NEW. We have saw how you have run the world and now we want our chance to correct your crap and misdeeds. You also need to check your own, I don't know of any pedophiles running for office.

  • Driver_S

The Pope has no business sticking his nose in our politics and what our candidates policies are. A country without borders is not a country. Protecting a country from invasion is a top priority and duty of the President and has nothing to do with religion or religious beliefs. By the way, what’s that big wall around the Vatican for anyway?

  • Terry Rushing

Perhaps while the pope is pontificating he would like to expound on the admonition of Jesus in Matthew 7:1 which warns us to “judge not lest we be judged by the same standards.” I would be interested to see how he wants to square his human judgment of another human in light of that.

  • DaveM

The representation of Christ as the Catholics see it is now judging! I thought only GOD can Judge (I know that is true)

  • buggs

Pope will get backlash from this for weeks.

  • nancy anderson

Well, the pope isn’t a Christian either because he follows the lib line of thinking which is close to communist, which is antithetical to God!! Hiding illegals in sanctuary cities out of a false sense of compassion is a sin & wrong for a priest to condone!!! Illegals are NOT all hardworking individuals!! Some (most) are on welfare & have many kids & unlike what the libs say, are taking jobs that Americans WILL do!!! They cost us billions of $$ a year & it is far cheaper to send them back ,than to keep them!!!The pope acts like there is something wrong with America! We are the most compassionate country in the world!!! And, like Rush says, the Vatican has a BIG ole’ wall surrounding it!!!

  • Nana

What about the 100 ft wall around the Vatican? Maybe he should tear it down now? Trump isn’t the only one talking about building a wall. All the others did too! So why does the media single out Trump’s wall? The pope is in on this New world Order Idea and should keep his day job.

    • cutterguy

how about opening the Vatican to refuges? how about opening the Vatican so the poor people can cash in on all the gold, art work etc? THEY call it redistribution of wealth. oh yeah we are supposed to give them 1/2 of what we have, but they keep all of theirs. I forgot.

  • Dan

I think the pope is a closet socialist/communist, too!

    • cutterguy

      not so much closet

  • Robert Early

This Pope is a pretender on the Vatigan throne. He’s obviously not Christian.

  • James R. Currier

  • JBQ21

Trump is an anti candidate because of the far left agenda of the present occupier. I have no problem with making this statement about Mr. Trump if he balances the criticism with a moral one about a modern day King Herod. In 2008, Archbishop Raymond Burke was removed from St. Louis in political maneuvering by the Vatican to support the Democrats. Just after this, the German pastor of a traditional church in St. Louis was sent back to Germany for allowing one of his priests to call then Senator Obama as a “modern day King Herod” for his killing of the innocents. Both of these actions occurred just before the Fall election of the then senator as president. I have proof of such.

  • Charles Reed

How about the pope bring back 50 to 100 illegals when he return home, see how Christian he is!

  • helensatmary

He called both of them NON-Christians and he is right. Trump may balk but has not been in a church since he was nine years old. A Christian that does not make.

    • Paul

Four walls DO NOT make a good Christian….Sorry BIG FAIL there!!!

      • helensatmary

No one ever said it did????

  • caligirl1960

Then Mexico is not Christian either because they have a border fence between them and Guatemala! Coming to our country illegally is not Christian they are taking jobs away and it keeps our wages low and we have high unemployment! They also steal benefits that are meant for citizens and legal immigrants! THAT isn’t Christian either the pope should take the illegals home with him since he is so charitable!

  • Neal

The POPE has enough problems of his own which he can’t seem to fix. Now he want to fix ours. Don’t know where he fits in but HE must be part of the ESTABLISHMENT too!!! Trump was right! POPE MIND YOUR OWN BUSINESS and KEEP YOUR NOSE OUT OF OURS! Our situation is a whole lot more complicated then you think. WHY haven’t YOU OPENED THE VATICAN WALLS TO THE SYRIANS?

  • Swampfox1965

The Pope seems to have forgotten that governments should be obeyed since they all serve at the pleasure of God. If a government decides that building a wall to protect it’s citizens from law breakers is the thing to do, it is up to us Biblically to obey. But the Pope, being a liberal and a globalist, can’t stomach the notion of obeying the democratically enacted laws of our country when those laws don’t conform to his liberal notion of how things “ought” to be.

  • skHurricane

The Pope needs to go home and get his head checked, and stay home!!!
