Washington Republicans on Sunday restated their argument that President Obama has violated the Constitution by using executive orders to alter the Affordable Care Act but acknowledged they likely have no recourse or ability to stop another incident.

Sen. Mike Lee, R-Utah, told “Fox News Sunday” that congressional Republicans think the president abused the government’s separation of powers by using the executive orders to sidestep Congress and delay the law’s employer mandate.

However, he said critics would be challenged to win in court because Congress lacks the so-called “legal standing” to present the case and they would have a “tough time” finding somebody hurt enough by the delays to be a good plaintiff.

“The president knows this is wrong,” said Lee, among the most outspoken ObamaCare critics. “What gives him the ability to rewrite the law?”

What about the people who are being hurt because there is no delay and he is picking and choosing just who gets a delay? What about all of the other far reaching executive orders he has done, bypassing Congress time and time again? You are right, mudguy1, it is a cop out! The Republicans are whimps!

  • truepatriotintx

BS! Why should it have to go to court? Executive Orders are a blatant abuse of power and congress is the watchdog. Do your job!

    • I Seigel

Exactly! Do your job! Don’t just throw accusations around carelessly, claiming that Obama is unconstitutional. If you have some proof, lay it out and call for impeachment. Otherwise, STFU.

  • BetseeRoss

His arbitrary changes to Obamacare are violating the “Law of the Land”, that the Democrats like to cite so freely for THEIR pet issues. The President is supposed to ENFORCE the law, not make it up to suit himself. That means there should be a means to arrest him. He is violating the law and the rights of MOST of the citizens of this country.

Isn’t it funny that that “Law of the Land” argument doesn’t extend to our immigration laws, privacy, or foreign policy behavior?

Yes is can stop, when Nobuma ignore any Law or go above or any kind of criminals activities by Constitution yes we can take him out power.

this is because we have the DEMS and the DEMS lite there is NO Repub party
anyone who backs those who claim to be Repub is a fool and anyone who believes the people have a representative government is an even bigger fool.

Welcome to the NEW AMERICA where there are no citizens just elitists and those who support them and you can do whatever you want as long as it is approved in writing and you don’t tell others what you are doing.
Yes Fascism at it’s best has arrived God help our children for what we have done to them and their future.

What a cop out. We have a House that has guts. If things were turn around and Republican President was doing the same things that Obama is doing heads would roll. And the President would be STOPPED. Rino’s do not know how to lead never has and never will. The GOP is just as responsible as Obama and the Democrats for whats happening to our America.
