The Supreme Court enters its final week of work before a long summer hiatus with action expected on the Trump administration’s travel ban and a decision due in a separation of church and state case that arises from a Missouri church playground.

The biggest news of all, though, would be if Justice Anthony Kennedy were to use the court’s last public session on Monday to announce his retirement.

To be sure, Kennedy has given no public sign that he will retire this year and give President Donald Trump his second high court pick in the first months of his administration. Kennedy’s departure would allow conservatives to take firm control of the court.

But Kennedy turns 81 next month and has been on the court for nearly 30 years. Several of his former law clerks have said they think he is contemplating stepping down in the next year or so. Kennedy and his clerks were gathering over the weekend for a reunion that was pushed up a year and helped spark talk he might be leaving the court.

We need everyone we can to line up against Kagan and Ginsburg. A second conservative justice would be wonderful and take some of the heat off Gorsuch. In fact if Ginsburg would finally retire we would have it made in the shade!!

  • Tiger says:

The very thing that Thomas Jefferson feared has happened with the courts. They have become the power that can override the Executive Branch. During this time between the actions Trump took to secure our safety the courts who stopped it, 1,500 refugees a month and up have poured into our country. Count it. Now we know Congress and the President determine the number of immigrants to come and Trump and Congress set the number at 50,000 from 110,000, but after 8 solid years of open borders and 100,000 a year coming here from Muslim countries, the thing to do is to STOP all immigration for a few years so we can sort this out.

Time to decide who comes here and what they can give to our society and country and stop those with their hands out. There is a camp set up by Saudi Arabia that can take care of 3 million people and it is empty. They want to come to countries that give them benefits. It has to stop.’

Kennedy is 81. Ginsburg is well over 80. If either had a real job, they would have been forced to retire 10 to 15 years ago. Yet we allow these fossils to remain on the court.
The Democrats will do everything in their power to keep these walking skeletons on the court. If Ginsburg were to pass away today, the Democrats would stick a broomstick up her back so that she could sit in her chair to ensure that they would not have another Trump appointee on the court. They will be all over Kennedy not to announce his retirement to keep Trump from having a shot at turning the court Conservative after 50 years of Liberal activist justices legislating from the bench.

    Sweet!

  • Askjrsk says:

Well it’s time. Ruth Ginsburg must be replaced. This is beyond good reason to have old senile women continuing to serve. She can’t even stay awake, for goodness sake. Her statements confirm her senility.

  • Rick D. says:

Great opportunity to put another conservative judge on SC. Of course, the whiny, wienie, wimpy bed-wetting left will never cooperate even if Mother Theresa was nominated!!

    1. Bob says:

Maybe it’s time for the Republicans in Congress to remember they have the majority and quit letting the Democrats run the show. The “GOP Leadership” should start running the House and Senate the way Reid and Pelosi did: “My way only, no highway option”. Maybe Mr. Trump should revive an old Obama quote when dealing with Democrats in Congress: “They can come for the ride, but they gotta sit in back.”.

      1. keedon says:

Bob load of nonsense. The Republicans have supported Trump all along. The Republican Congress put Gorsuch in the SC. The Republican Congress will put the next conservative on the Court. The Demwits aren’t running the show. Trump depends on the Republican Congress to make the bills and send them to him to sign. Just because there are a few Republican morons doesn’t mean the whole Congress deserves to be attacked.

        1. Bob says:

I believe you misunderstood the post. I was not attacking the Republicans as a whole. Kate’s Law, legislation against sanctuary cities, the travel ban, they are helping the administration. My anger is focused on those who are fighting the President for their own personal gain, ie the GOP “Leadership”. Cruz, Chaffee, and Graham just can’t get over how a political neophyte candidate beat them in the primaries. McCain can’t get over that the Preisdent ran his campaign to beat a shoe-in candidate, something McCain failed to do. McConnell, well what can you say? A walking poster child for term limits. The President appears to enjoy the support of most of those in Congress there to do the job they were elected to do, and to those we should give our thanks and support. As for the “Leadership”, not so much.

          1. keedon says:

Yes a few rotten apples spoil the barrel, but your original statement sounds like all the other statements by fellow Republicans which can be seen to be attacking all the Republicans in Congress. Don’t give the Demwits ammo to use against us.

    2. keedon says:

Rick D. the Demwits aren’t in control of Congress and the Presidency any more.

  • champion2211 says:

It will help considerably to have some decent people in the Supreme Court as well as I see it Ginsburg might just be planning an exit also. But that will come when it comes. This is a dire situation for the good guys but they still need to follow the Constitution unlike what the Democrats would do. They follow what the party wants or what will help the party control everyone.

    1. Worried Vet says:

This is one of the huge reasons people voted for Trump. Hillary would have stacked the court where we would become a socialist country and have things like the bathroom where guys can watch the girls go or shower. They would have made it the law of the land and kept liberal policies alive for decades. God will protect us and POTUS will have two picks in the future, that will shape the court in a more honest way for decades to come.

      1. Askjrsk says:

Become more like communist Muslim Canada, if Hillary could have got the 50 million fake votes, that voted Obama for his reelection.

  • disqus_BAvz0LV7zw says:

Ginsburg needs to drop. With her age at 84, she is wasting space, time, and money of taxpayers, doing nothing but sleeping. She has lost her integrity, without realizing that she is a burden, and not an asset to the SC. But wise enough in staying to support the radical agenda of the left.

  • Webb says:

    We wait…
For more Conservative Judges that will follow the Constitution…
    Putting America back on track!

The Lord works in mysterious ways. Hope they put the Lord back in our schools and remove the teachings of all this muslem crap.

      1. Webb says:

        Champion2211…
My thoughts exactly…I have always wondered why the House and the Senate open every day with a prayer before starting their legislative work…
Yet, they don’t support prayer in our schools or other public places??

        1. keedon says:

Webb because the first time in 50 years we have a Republican controlled Congress to make the bills and a Republican Prez to sign them. Obama vetoed every Republican bill. There wasn’t enough Republicans to over ride Obama’s vetoes

  • cathylovesyou says:

I wish it was Miss Brooklyn retiring however un like her is not an obstructionist. A solid Conservative will be appreciated to undo the harm that Roberts did.

    1. keedon says:

Roberts has done much good also in 2nd Amendment cases. He is a solid Conservative.

      1. cathylovesyou says:

I hope so , Bush put him in there he owes us something

  • pappy450 says:

THAT would be fantastic! It would be the first time in a VERY long time to finally have a SCOTUS that would ACTUALLY go by the Constitution (as written) instead of “legislating” from the bench like the LIBTARDS of the court always seem to do.

  • regulus30 says:

If everyone just gets one more conservative to vote in 2018/2020 America may have dodged a communist bullet. Our new added focus must be on the globalist UN and EU.

    1. Retired says:

The EU is under the thumb of the UN , the Brits saw the light and are getting out from under them .Obozo and the Clintons were UN puppets .Time to kick them out of the country and turn the UN building into a VA center with housing and medical treatment .

      1. regulus30 says:

        most excellent

  • Richard Russell says:

He will be 81 years old soon. This job is not a life sentence. He may just want to enjoy his last few years. Nothing wrong with that. The president and senate can then appoint another more center right judge, than Kennedy was as a judge.

    1. champion2211 says:

Too bad Scalia didn’t have that choice instead of being murdered.

  • regulus30 says:

It will shape this nation for decades; liberals have to be cringing.

  • Paul Dean says:

GREAT! I wish every libturd on the SC would retire or, whatever. How great would it be to have a 9 judge SC made up of ALL Conservatives and/or Constitutionals?

    1. Peter Smith says:

All we really need is Kennedy to announce retirement on schedule and Ginsberg to just go. Retirement, mental incompetence, or death, it really wouldn’t matter. 7-2 sounds so much better than 5-4. You never know, the other two may just walk away when they realize they no longer matter ……… You’re right, damn it, 9-0 is the right balance.

      1. jeanette says:

Peter S, I can’t stand that Ginsburg female. she looks like the wicked witch!

        1. truthseeker says:

She can hardly hold herself up .

        2. Olaf Thunderfoot says:

Why would you insult the Wicked Witch that way?

          1. Tiger says:

Because if the broom fits ride it.

        3. Tiger says:

She is so shriveled up that her robes don’t fit.

      2. truthseeker says:

Ruth Ginsberg has stated in the Past that she would Resign her position if Trump became President, so Go Ruth ! Go now!

        1. Tiger says:

Like all the movie idgits that were going to leave, don’t hold your breath.

    2. Retired says:

Two are at the age were they could pass away any time and one is to ornery to do that .

    3. keedon says:

Paul Dean at the moment there are 4 Conservatives, 4 Liberals and Kennedy who floats back and forth. One more Conservative will tip the court to 5 Conservative and 4 Liberals in our favor. It isn’t a matter of if but when.
