The Senate on Monday passed a resolution calling on President Trump to “abide by” provision of a 1995 law moving the U.S. Embassy in Israel from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem.

The provision was passed as part of a measure commemorating the 50th anniversary of the reunification of Jerusalem, which followed the Six Day War in 1967.

The Senate passed it in a 90-0 vote.

Trump promised during his campaign that he would move the U.S. Embassy to Jerusalem, but in a reversal, signed an order on June 1 keeping the embassy in Tel Aviv, at least for now. The White House said it delayed the move to improve the chances of reaching a peace deal between Israel and the Palestinian Authority.

I would leave that decision to Israel. If they OK the move do it if not keep it where it is.The Palestinians will never agree to peace,no matter what is done. They do not want peace. So why even consider what they want.

There was a two state solution to begin with in 1947 one for Israel and one for “Palestine” but the leader of the Muslim Nation at the time the King of Jordon went ballistic when Israel was made a nation and rejected it totally saying they would NEVER accept Israel’s existence and would push them into the sea. Until ever Jew was dead and the land was theirs there would be no peace in this land! His words still ring out across the land and in the hearts and minds of many in Islam and sadly drummed into the minds and souls of their babies.

Benjamin Freedman has an interesting opinion on this:

Promises made should be promises kept…
Trump promised during his campaign that he would move the U.S. Embassy to Jerusalem…
If Israel is OK with the move…

Muslims today look to the example of Muhammad and the Treaty of Hudaibiyah as one of the primary go-to strategies to defeat their enemies. Enter into a treaty, a covenant, a ceasefire. But it is only for the purpose of gaining strength to eventually defeat your enemy.

Muslims today clearly understand ‘Hudaibiya’ to be a code-word which, in brief, means “kiss the hand of your enemy until you have the opportunity to cut it off.”

Yes, move the embassy. There is no solution that the Palestinians will honor. Most of their homeland lies in Jordan. But you won’t see them harass them because the Jordanians will kick their butts.

In 1947 the United Nations passed a resolution that created the state of Israel. This same resolution, also called the “Partition Resolution,” created a state for the Arab Palestinians. Assured by the Koran that unbelievers are without intelligence (Quran, Sura 8:65), and would surely be subdued, Arab nations in the region rejected the Partition Resolution and instead went to war against Israel in 1948, deciding everything should be theirs. Well, too bad! It didn’t work out that way.

Had Arab nations accepted the Partition Resolution there would today be a
separate state for the Palestinians. Israel is not to blame for this failure. The
ongoing propaganda effort aimed at Israel is based in ignorance, egotism, and
willful deception. You can’t “occupy” the nation of Palestine, because such a nation never existed.

Tel Aviv is the capital of Israel, the seat of their government and a central part of the country. Until they move their capital we should leave our embassy where it is. Moving it will cost a lot of money and make it less secure. If and when Israel moves their capital we should make the move but not till then.

For thousands of years, Jerusalem is the capital of Israel. Tel Aviv is, and has been, just temporary. Building a war monument, Al Aqsa, to commemorate a military victory does not change the facts of history. Consider if Napoleon had built the Arc de Triomphe in Vienna, would it still be standing after 1940?

Israel has only been a country since after WW II. Tel Aviv has been it’s capital all that time. There hadn’t been a true Israel for over 1900 years before that and even then it wasn’t rules by the Jews but by Rome. As I said when Israel movers their capital we should move our Embassy but not before.
