Surprise, 30,000 Lois Lerner IRS Emails Discovered Late Friday Afternoon

Lois-Lerner-LIARIf a Friday afternoon when the GOP is suing the administration over the Affordable Care Act, while still scrambling internally to formulate an official response to last night’s announced amnesty for five million illegal immigrants, isn’t the best time to suddenly discover 30,000 Lois Lerner emails once pronounced lost forever, it’s difficult to think of a better one if one’s intention is to minimize the news.

Up to 30,000 missing emails sent by former Internal Revenue Service official Lois Lerner have been recovered by the IRS inspector general, five months after they were deemed lost forever.

The U.S. Treasury Inspector General for Tax Administration (TIGTA) informed congressional staffers from several committees on Friday that the emails were found among hundreds of “disaster recovery tapes” that were used to back up the IRS email system.

I wrote at that time and told my Senators not to believe that crap, that they were lost, all information is backed up to mail servers, daily, weekly, etc. even taken off site for security and fire purposes. I told them and they kept saying “ooh, there all gone, now what are we going to do”? Not sure about our Congress, after all these years with computers, SURELY they have heard that this type of activity occurs, even if they are not computer people, and SURELY they have computer people on staff? What IS the matter with these simple minded people? I think some of the older ones really don’t know about this stuff…they need to get the hell out of Congress…starting with Reid and Pelosi

The emails were discovered by the IRS’s Inspector General. They weren’t discovered by a Republican investigating committee or Breitbart or Drudge. So, if the IRS REALLY wanted to keep them secret, why have they been looking for them for the past 5 months? Why not simply let them stay hidden in those backup tapes? Why not ERASE or DESTROY those backup tapes? No one would have been the wiser. And why release the news on Friday afternoon? The Inspector General didn’t have to do that either. He could have waited until Obama was almost out of office. This whole conspiracy theory stinks and makes absolutely no sense. Especially to blame it on Obama.

Seigel, I hate to say it but the “buck stops here” is on obamas desk. He’s responsible, the way he operates, nothing at this level is done without his knowledge or instigation. Think about that. All the conspiracy stuff, racial stuff, division of America stuff….all starts with this a…hole of a community organizer..because we elected this fool to the highest office in the land…and all he can do is raise funds or organize a Ferguson riot… Not saying much for the voters is it?

      1. I Seigel says:

So you’re saying that every general should resign or be fired if a soldier under his command commits a crime? A CEO should resign or be arrested if one of his/her employees commits a crime? Should Gov Christie resign because people under him did wrong things? Should a school superintendent resign if one of his/her teachers is convicted of sexual assault on a student? Should Rumsfeld, Cheney and Bush have resigned or been arrested over the Abu Ghraib scandal?

You’re saying that Obama organized the Ferguson riot?

I’ve thought about it – all the racial division, conspiracy stuff is caused by people like Fox News and conservative right-wing media, websites like this one and the people who frequent them, politicians who only see self-interest rather than national interest the money people who only want to subvert the system for their own enrichment rather than caring about society and the environment as a whole

Have another helping of Kool-Aid. Happy holiday.

Lost Hell they were being purged of any evidence that Obola was involved in the corruption and trying to remove his fingerprints from the evidence. But slowly the rats will turn as the ship starts to sink faster and faster.

You could hand Boehner and McConnell the smoking gun and by the time they decided what to do the statute of limitations would run out. A government of the government, by the government, and for the government is what we have, so don’t expect any great revelations here.

  • Art Hock says:

Now is the time to abolish the IRS and EPA as they are the worst of the evil corrupt organizations used by the White House.

  • Noah Rosenblum says:

    Lois’s email were never lost
Each email she sent and received is retained on the servers as well as the daily backups. They are retained for years. There are multiple copies of these emails.
Shameful coverup, within Obama’s “HOLY” administration.
For a president who claimed to be an open book, fairer than his predecessors, Obma has proven to be one of the worst violators of the constitution, and worst president in US history, worst even than Jimmy the peanut brain Carter,

    1. I Seigel says:

It would seem it’s some lame IT guy’s fault for not knowing how to retrieve emails. Not Obama’s

      1. Noah Rosenblum says:

It’s definitely Obama and his entire administration fault !!!

        1. I Seigel says:

Oh, definitely. No question about it. Absolutely positively. You’d think he’d be busy with lots of other important stuff – you know, Putin, Benghazi, Keystone, ISIS, illegal immigration – but I’m sure he has time to hide emails.

        2. bobnstuff says:

Tec is not the US governments strong suit. The can’t get computer programs to run right and never have. IT stuff is from the lowest bidder, They would be better off with the Geek Squad.

Is there ANY good left in this world?? Or has corruption and terrorism completely overshadowed it all forever? The Bible really wasn’t that far off….

    1. I Seigel says:

Right alongside Cheney and Ashcroft and Rumsfeld. Bring it on!

  • I Seigel says:

What a surprise! No news on the site here about the latest Benghazi investigation. The House Republican-led inquiry debunked all the conspiracy theories. Imagine that!!

    1. danhoch says:

I think (and hope) that the silence is due to the fact that most everyone in Congress have left D.C. and are just now returning…at least I hope so.

      1. I Seigel says:

I think you have it backwards. Congressmen have been in DC up until now. Now they’re heading home for the holiday. I’m not sure if they’re done for the year. Besides, my comment didn’t have anything to do with Congress. It had to do with the lack of any news story on this site pertaining to the investigation’s findings.

  • CTH says:

The IRS people obviously all along knew where those lost emails were but thought they could get by with telling lies.
