Ted Cruz doubles down on threat to defund Obamacare, proposes alternatives

Sen. Ted Cruz on Sunday doubled down on his call to arms in “defunding Obamacare,” even if Senate Democrats are highly unlikely to approve any short-term spending deal this September that impugns President Obama’s signature domestic achievement.

Mr. Cruz, Texas Republican, said that if the GOP-controlled House could pass a continuing resolution that strips the Affordable Care Act of funding this September, a “grass-roots tsunami” of opposition to the health care law could force the Senate to relent.

The GOP, he told CNN, has to do something it hasn’t done in a long time: “Stand up and win the argument.”

Mr. Cruz, who hasn’t kept a low profile as a freshman senator, has been linked to a presidential run in 2016.

Despite visits to Iowa and New Hampshire — vital prizes during a presidential primary season — Mr. Cruz insisted that the media likes to stir up talk of 2016.
“I think it’s the silly season in politics,” he told CNN’s “State of the Union.”

I agree with Sen Cruz. The GOP has
to stand up and fight for what the
majority of people in this country
want, and that is to defund or appeal
    Obamacare.

Cruz has the right idea. But, will Speaker Boehner listen to 1/3rd of his Republicans and act in a forceful manner, and defund the Unaffordable Act? What difference does it make……it means we fight back!?

Senator Ted Cruz is one of a relatively small number of U.S. Senators who is not shy about his defense of our Liberty and Freedom when it is being trampled by laws passed by ill-informed legislators. Some liberal news types call him a “Nut job.” If that is so then it has to be said that “nut jobs” are exactly what we need to get the United States Congress filled with many more like Ted Cruz. This nation is quickly sliding down the slippery slope of disaster principally caused by renegade legislators who have no business being in the positions they hold. Those folks have been elected by constituents who have no idea what they are doing in their voting booths except to hasten the day this nation fails to exist as a viable economic entity. Liberals all are pie in the sky, out-of-touch simpletons who believe that government exists to make their lives easier at the expense of defending our Liberty and Freedom.

I’ve lost two primary care doctors due to ObamaCare and now my cardiologist said she doesn’t know how long she can stay in her own office, my insurance has gone up 44% , and all three of them said the same thing; ( We don’t need nor want the government telling us how to treat our patients.) Don in Augusta Ga.

Thx. senator Cruz, “stand up” are the 2 words we are waiting for and it is not happening, ever. The names of all those sitting on their hands should be published.

I truly hope Ted Cruz runs for President and have Dr. Ben Carson as VP. Ted is a strong person who believes in our constitution. He says what he means and means what he says.
