Trump breaks 50% in national support for the first time

by Kathy Frankovic  |  published on March 15, 2016

In the last two weeks, Republican frontrunner Donald Trump has won more delegates in primaries and caucuses, even while his opponents have launched new attacks and questions have been raised about his supporters. The week’s Economist/YouGov Poll finds Trump still at the top of GOP voters’ preference with a wider lead, while Florida Senator Marco Rubio seems most damaged by the two weeks of attacks and counter-attacks.

This is the first time Trump has garnered the support of a majority of Republican primary voters nationwide. YouGov’s February 24-27 survey marked his previous high, at 44% support.

Two weeks ago, the national Economist/YouGov Poll showed Rubio and Texas Senator Ted Cruz battling for second place behind Trump, in a field which still included retired neurosurgeon Ben Carson (who has since endorsed Trump). This week, Rubio is battling Ohio Governor John Kasich for last place, with half the support Republican voters give to Cruz. He is behind both Cruz and Kasich when Republican voters are asked for their second choice. And only 19% of Republican voters would be enthusiastic about a Rubio nomination (in contrast, half would be enthusiastic if Trump were the nominee).

Rubio is the least liked of all the remaining GOP candidates. His favorable rating among Republican primary voters has dropped nine points from what it was two weeks ago; his unfavorable rating has jumped eleven points in the same period. Every other remaining contender, including Kasich, receives better ratings.

Here’ a couple of “Cut & Paste” articles I found interesting and also conformation to elect Trump for President in the upcoming election…….

A friend sent this to me today.

    It says it all–

GOP BOSSES SPIT IN THE VOTERS’ FACES

    You’re not fighting Trump.

You’re fighting the people who are voting for
    him.

The anti-Trump effort being waged by the Republican
Party is essentially a fight against democracy.

It’s not that this monster has raised himself up
to threaten the ivory castles of the blue bloods, it’s that millions of people
have stood up and said, “Enough is enough.”

It is they against whom the GOP establishment is
    fighting.

And that fight never turns out well.

Donald Trump isn’t Barry Goldwater in 1964, he
is Andrew Jackson in 1828. He is going to storm the White House, and he is
going to bring his unwashed hordes with him. The Trump campaign is built on the
uniquely American premise that the people are sovereign, and that does not jibe
with cozy arrangements of the country-club Republicans. For too long, the
Republican Party has exploited its constituencies, instead of served them, and
the beaten dog is about to bite.

Some have gone off after Ted Cruz, but most have
gone off after Donald Trump. Together, something approaching 80 percent of
Republican voters thus far this primary season have told the party
establishment to pound salt. You have the clueless elite, and then you have the
voters who actually care about America.

And they have picked up a baseball bat to drive
the money changers from the temple.

It might be Trump who is being slammed upside
the GOP head, but it is not Trump doing the slamming. It is the American
people. Veterans and taxpayers, moms and dads, young and old. They are tired of
being screwed, they are tired of being ignored, they are tired of being played.

    And Trump is their tool.

And the Republican Party can resist them at its
    peril.

Because the people will be heard. In this party,
or the other party, or in a new party. In this election, or a future election,
but certainly someday they will be heard. What Donald Trump has done is crack
open the door of opportunity, he has given the voters a choice other than Party
Hack A versus Party Hack B. When you give the people a chance to order
something that’s not on the menu, they do it.

Bernie tried on the Democrat side, and has
    failed.

Trump is trying on the Republican side, and is
    succeeding.

    And the party is losing.

Every time you stand up and tell the voters that
they are wrong, every time you disavow the results of your own party’s
primaries, every time you pledge to disqualify the candidate backed by the
people, you unleash a firestorm of pent-up electoral rage. Traditional
Republican voters have been punked by their party in election after election,
with promises unkept and problems unsolved for generations on end. They are now
joined by new voters who are unaccustomed to docility and disrespect.

    And it’s payback time.

While the Republican bosses go on the evening
news to say, “Let them eat cake,” Republican voters go to the ballot box and
say, “Let them eat lead.” This is one of those elections where they dip their
finger in ink and hold it aloft as a sign they’ve voted. Except in this case
    it’s the middle finger.

And, yes, the goal is the White House, the
objective is the federal government. But right now the Republican establishment
stands in the way, and it can either be part of the solution or it can be part
    of the roadkill.

Thus far it seems intent on self-destruction.

    And that’s fine by me.

Last night the people spoke, and the Republican
bigwigs went into the backrooms to debate brokered conventions and third-party
candidacies. Little did they realize that they were writing the last details of
    their own political obituaries.

    Because this isn’t about Trump.

It’s about the people who vote for him, in
record numbers. People who have flocked to the Republican ballot box in numbers
unknown since the days of Reagan. The pigs at the trough of Republican power
are condemning their party in the name of self-interest. They’ve got theirs,
and they’ll be damned if anyone else is going to get any.

But they fight the unbeatable foe.

    The American people.

The Republican Party is not trying to steal this
election from Donald Trump, it is trying to steal it from the American people.
It is trying to deny the franchise to those who fail to kiss its arse. It is
    declaring Trump voters second-class citizens.

    And that never ends well.

A fish rots from the head, and all the
Republican Party needs is a good decapitation.

Which every party attack on Donald Trump and his
    voters makes ever more certain.

    Why people are supporting Trump!
    From a Florida ER doctor:

I live and work in a
state overrun with Illegal’s. They make more money having kids than we earn
    working full-time.

    Today I had a 25-year
old with 8 kids – that’s right 8, all Illegal Anchor Babies and she had
the nicest nails, cell phone, hand bag, clothing, etc.. She makes about
$1,500 monthly for each; you do the math.

    I used to say,
“We are the dumbest nation on earth,” Now I must say and sadly
admit: WE are the dumbest people on earth (that includes ME) for we elected the
Idiot Ideologues who have passed the Bills that allow this. Sorry, but we
    need a Revolution!

    If the Illegal
Immigrant is over 65, they can apply for SSI and Medicaid and get more than a woman on
Social Security, who worked from 1944 until 2004. She is only
getting $791 per month because she was born in 1924 and there’s a ‘catch 22’
    (notch) for her.

It is interesting that the Federal Government provides a single
refugee with a monthly allowance of $1,890. Each can also obtain an
additional $580 in Social Assistance, for a total of $2,470 a month. This
compares to a single pensioner, who after contributing to the growth and
development of America for 40 to 50 years, can only receive a monthly maximum
of $1,012 in Old Age Pension and Guaranteed Income Supplement. Maybe our Pensioners should
    apply as Refugees!

    Consider sending this
to all your American friends, so we can all be ticked off and maybe get the
Refugees cut back to $1,012 and the Pensioners up to $2,470. Then we can
enjoy some of the money we were forced to submit to the Government over the
    last 40 or 50 or 60 years.

    Send this to every
    American Taxpayer you know.

Remember too, that all the Syrian refugees

    will get the same benefits.

President Reagan was absolutely one of the best Presidents ever. But we can not use his techniques for today’s World. I love my 1959 Jaguar sitting in the garage. It is a most beautiful car. But I would not drive it on the interstate on a trip. It was made in a different time. Rather have a new car for that. Cruz loves Reagan, I do too, but TRUMP has what it takes to make AMERICA great again. Very few people in our Country can do that now.

The only reason we are having so many deaths overseas Is Obama ignored the redlines and he did not do his job. He took our military out too soon he’s told tham when and what date we are leaving ! Obama the one that caused all this problems he’s the one that has the refugees trying to get into there states because of Obama what he did that cause all these problems overseas is shameful we need to pray for Paris and the other countries that the last few days been traumatized, Obama why are you not doing anything about Isis about these countries ? Anybody explain it to me the News tells us everything that’s is going on and I just do not understand this is not the United States (why)

I have a question. If Cruz was born in Canada…to me, that would make him a Canadian citizen. But there are those who are saying that because his mother was born in the USA , that makes him a American citizen . Now here comes the question. What was his father? Was he a Cuban citizen or was he a Cuban citizen who renounced his Cuban citizen and became a Canadian? If he didn’t , and remained a Cuban, it seems like Cruz would be a citizen of all three countries. I am assuming that his father became a Canadian citizen, but I don’t know…I am sure some of you do. I believe that he should be counted as a Canadian citizen, but if he is an American citizen because his mother is, he should also be what he father is and I am assuming that he was a Canadian. Now how does one “renounce” a citizen…does he just declare it verbally or does it have to go through legal channels. I don’t know but would like to. Personally, it seems that this might have been taken out of a book that Obama wrote.

    Gonna get interesting soon!

  • Suzey

Cruz’s Mother is an American citizen and was when Ted was born.

  • Suzey

We all know that Obama has no use for the Constitution. I mean real scholars.

  • Suzey

If Rubio was born in this country, he is an American citizen. Our laws say so. Hopefully he will be back after we have had enough of c
    Clinton and the Dems.

  • Suzey

Bill, I agree with you that Obama has been the worst President in my lifetime – perhaps ever and that Hillary Clinton would continue that downward spiral. But Trump the answer – never. He speaks out of both sides of his mouth. When it is to his advantage, he buys influence. He once said Hillary was a great Secretary; and now he says she was terrible. He wants to compromise with Harry Reid and Chuck Schumer. He is flexible on immigration. I’m sorry if I don’t believe he is neither a Conservative or a Republican. He is just like Hillary and will say what he thinks will get him votes. I’m not sure what is in his heart, but I believe his heart is whatever is good for Donald. I don’t trust the man and I cannot in good conscience vote for him. You are right, Bill I have contempt for both Trump and Hillary.

  • Robert Early

If the GOP Establishment fails to respect the will of the people, they will be making a fatal error. We will tolerate these scum no longer. The bloody revolution will begin.

    • David in MA

But, will the masses vote them out and others in to replace them?

  • Suzey

If constitutional scholars say he is eligible to be President, so be it. Rubio is now out of the race, so get off his back. He just gave a wonderful speech. I sure hope he will come back and run again. He is so head and shoulders over the front runner in our party who will give complete control to our worst nightmare!

    • Lily Haley

Obama claims to be a constitutional scholar, and look at what he does to it.

  • rockcut

Rubio is gone. Well his supporters go to Trump. I say NO, they in the end will go to Hillary in the general election.

    • David Kledzik

      Not a chance

  • Telstar in AZ

That seems to make Rubio an Anchor Baby and Trump will be deporting Anchor Babies as well if elected. No wonder why Rubio seems so freaked out; he has a lot more at stake than just the presidency. lol

  • Editor George

Marco Rubio is soft on illegal immigration. He sets a bad example by speaking in Spanish, pandering to a Hispanic crowd when he should be telling them to speak, read, write and listen in English. Because he has done these things, he is not fit to be president and why fellow Conservative Americans have abandoned him. The Legal Immigration explosion and the Illegal Immigration Invasion sanctioned & encouraged by Obama to radically change the demographics of this country was not opposed by Rubio. He wants to let the illegals stay. We want the wall, halted by Obama to be completed and for them to get out.

Some people say that economics is the big issue this election cycle. Legal and Illegal Immigration is one reasons for the drain on our resources. Mr. Trump and Mr. Cruz understand that. Mr. Rubio and the Republican Establishment do not. No Republican will be nominated or elected if they are soft on this issue. The riled up, non represented, forgotten and the real Americans have spoken and in English too.

    • Sheila Smith

Yes Trump has truly been my pick, I’m tired of how our country has been run by Obama and the other candidates have had their chance already in the government and have done nothing about it! I believe that Trump will help us get our country back and that we can be great and proud again and I believe that he can beat that murdering liar Clinton but, the stupid Gop is trying their best to stop him and they should be ashamed of themselves of how they have been treating him! Apparently they don’t want to see our country be great again or they are afraid that their little secrets will be revealed ‘

      • Editor George

I can live with & like a Trump or Cruz candancy because their positions are almost the same. I’m going with Trump because he’s saying what has to be said out loud, like what’s being said on the street.
I also believe that Trump would be more electable in the general because as we have already seen many middle class male Democrats crossing over to the Republican Party. Does anyone really believe that these voters would vote for an establishment Republican brokered candidate? They just left the Democrat party because the Democrats have been takin over by the far left and don’t represent them. An establishment Republican would not represent them nor would they represent us as Conservative and/or middle class Republicans. Make no mistake, a brokered establishment Republican candidate like John Kasich would be business as usual and not much different than Hillary Clinton.
        Speaking of John Kasich

  • Suzey

Rubio was born in this country which makes him a citizen. Get your facts straight. Both Cruz and Rubio are better Americans than the phony Trump.

    • Vassiliki

yes he was born here but his parents were not citizens which makes him ineligible.

  • Suzey

Cruz is an American citizen and has renounced Canadian citizenship. His Mother was born in America and according to most Constitutionalist scholars, he is eligible to be President. Rubio was born in America and is also eligible to be President. Either would be head and shoulders a leader over Trump. He isn’t much of a speaker – just spots slogans with no real solutions. He invites protesters by his rhetoric. He is crude, rude and lacks class. Too bad so many are using anger which he plays into to choose someone so unqualified to be President.

    • boone1

Wrong Rubio cannot run for President his parents were not born here but born in Cuban.and did not become cizitens until ten years after Rubio was born.

      • mustang6984

Rubio is an American citizen…he was born in the U.S. and is as American as anyone who’s family has been here for 100+ years.

        • David in MA

But not a Natural Born Citizen, he is not Constitutionally eligible.

          • mustang6984

Yes…he IS a natural born citizen…born in Florida.

How difficult is it for you people to understand that FACT? sheesh!

        • boone1

Yes Rubio was born here in Florida but his parents were born in Cuba so Rubio cannot run for President read the U.S.Constitution both parents have to be born in the U.S.A.what don’t you get about parents being born in this country.Like I said Rubio cannot run for President.end of story and if you can’t understand that than you must be a complete moron.

          • mustang6984

            Nice try…but again…epic FAIL!

the only morons I see in this thread…are you and your butt-buddies with no legal education whatsoever!

          • boone1

Rubio is not a NATURAL BORN citizen like I said before both parents were not natural born in AMERICA have you ever read the U.S.CONSTITUTION? if not you should be reading it and stop acting so damn stupid on here.

          • mustang6984

The FEDERAL law…states that being BORN in the U.S., as Rubio was, makes him a NATURAL BORN citizen!
The fact that YOU seem to think that YOUR interpretation of the Constitution makes you ABOVE the SCOTUS…only serves to make YOU a blithering idiot!

You…LOSE! yet again! Most likely a mirror result of the rest of your pathetic life!

    • Kitty

Rubio wants to give path to citizenship for illegal aliens (they broke the law). That is why most conservatives are not interested in him (same with Kasich).

      • David in MA

Maybe his parents never did become American citizens??

    • David in MA

Cruz is a Canadian abd Rubio is an anchor baby.

Cruz said he renounced it, he was never an American citizen to begin with! Tell me, how can a person hold citizenship in another country for 43 years (all his life, so far) and say he is not a citizen of that country, but another country?

      Here is the information:

      http://www.examiner.com/article/proof-that-ted-cruz-did-not-become-a-us-citizen-at-birth

Did Cruz’s parents submit this document? It is very doubtful:

      http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/pdf/kits/citizen/CIT0302E.pdf

    • Lily Haley

Cruz’s father was a Cuban citizen.

      • David in MA

Cruz’s father was also a Canadian citizen before allegedly becoming an American citizen.

    • Bill

Suzey, you display real contempt in your heart! Chill out and listen to his message. Trump is the only candidate who has our great country at heart. We have all had enough of the lies and the destruction of America. The George Soros, Clintons, Bush’s and Obama’s have done enough destruction to our country, constitution to last a life time. The racial tension in our country dates back to the 1950’s and 60’s. All the great strides over the years have been nearly negated by our present President. Our whole system is under attack and how you can not see it amazes me. I’m not willing to give up OUR FREEDOM and GREAT COUNTRY to be ruled by socialist/marxis!

    • David in MA

Sadly you don’t know what your taking about?
BTW, Suzey, why would a lawyer wait until he is 43 years old to announce is renouncing his Canadian citizenship? 43 years a Canadian and suddenly he says he no longer is and you see nothing to question?

  • David in MA

Rubio is the son of two Cuban Nationals who did not become American citizens until Marco was around four years old, Marco is a first generation American citizen and Ted Cruz is a Canadian citizen and has been all his life, BOTH are not Constitutionally eligible to be president or v. president

    • carpkiller

You are absolutely correct and if people think Mr. Trump does not know that then they are crazy. Those two are not qualified by law.

      • gonefishin27

See statement above. You too can go back to momma’s basement now and please you both need to pull your heads out of Trump’s A$$. It is unbecoming.

It’s you that should be pulling your head out of your ass boy.

      • Anthony

Any one without the knowledge only because it is not required to learn in school. Need to read the Laws of Nations, to know the power of Congress. Having read the Law of Nations now back to the Constitution, you come to the ARTICLE 2 SECTION 1 CLAUSE 5, No person except a natural born Citizen shall be eligible to the office of President. It is written in Book 1 Chapter 19 article 212, must be Born on the American Land with both parents as Citizens of the Nation. Our Constitution is the Supreme Law of this Nation.

        • Vangie Martinez

Funny how Cruz who is so high and mighty about our Constitution does not bring that up. I’m sharing this on FB hope it’s ok with you.

          • mustang6984

I wouldn’t do that…unless you want to open yourself up to a lot of ridicule.

Well you are not a legal scholar and 6 federal courts have deemed Cruz eligible. No he is not a Canadian citizen but you are a certified idiot.

      • skipsart

No, you are uninformed. We must go by the wishes of the Founding Fathers and not some idiot court with their own nefarious agenda. The main reason the Founders wanted the future president to be a Natural Born Citizen was to remove the possibility of the being mixed allegiances with other countries. Read this as it will explain. do a little research and it will make perfect sense, unless you want Ted Cruz so bad that you would have us violate the Founding Fathers’ intentions.
        http://freedomoutpost.com/explained-natural-born-citizen-naturalized-citizen/

      • pmbalele

Did you say “legal scholars?” Did you mean the 7th Circuit judges appointed by Repub presidents? Those started campaigning for Cruz as soon as he launched his bid for the WH job. Those judges call themselves conservative, but actually are racists and bigots. In one of their decisions they mentioned Cruz. I wrote to them to remove the name from the decision. I am told they hate me. They know their job should not be mixed with politics at any level. They should thank God Justice Hagan did not see that decision. She would write them up. Cruz is Canadian-Cuban and therefore unqualified for the WH job. You would not let Castro send our soldiers to fight wars. The WH job needs an individual born in any one of the states. Canada, where Cruz was born, is no USA state.

      • mustang6984

I do believe we are dealing with mental midgets here…who allow their distaste of hatred for candidates to form their silly little opinions which are so far from being based in fact, that they only show themselves to be certifiably stupid!

    • skipsart

      You are correct.

      • gonefishin27

        See statement below

    • Ken says

Cruz was going to let it be taken to the SCOTUS for a final clarification. For some reason that has died. I sent hin an email a year ago suggesting he get this done. You would think he would have learned from Obamas experience with Hillary questioning his status that iif he were to face her in the election she would do the same to him. Now it doesn’t matter – even with Rubio out – Kasich will overtake him.

      • David in MA

Look at some things in this:
Cruz is a lawyer, called an expert on the Constitution (we already have one of them), the man is 43 years old and all during his life he never addressed his legal citizenship status, apparently never gave any thought as to his being born in Canada, his having only Canadian citizenship and no thought as to seeking American citizenship. Then, when he was born, in Canada, a Canadian citizen, dual citizenship was not allowed by Canada which further solidifies his Canadian citizenship.
My thought is: Cruz’s mother also took Canadian citizenship as his father had there have been claims she is listed as a voter and did vote in Canada) and at his birth there were never any filings with the American and Canadian government offices of his becoming an American citizen at age (18 or 21) and at some point his father obtained American citizenship, but there has been no reference as to if his mother did, which brings (me) this to a point that possibly Ted Cruz AND his mother were/are illegal immigrants, Ted is a Canadian citizen and as either not eligible under the Constitution to be president or v. president. I will not vote for Ted Cruz because I believe he is a Canadian citizen and this is why he never sought American citizenship. I believe Ted Cruz is another fake just like Obama and part of the march toward the OWG/NWO under the U.N. communist assembly.

        • Ken says

David – I have been questioning all the red flags in his status for a year and most people look at me like they have never heard of immigration laws. I guess that King Bo made it a NONissue Ted and Heidi Cruz are like Bill and Hillary Clinton – they are Establishment Power Players and above the law. Rubio is a nonissue now since he ended his campaign last night. The only thing I could add to you list of the Cruz red flags is: at about the age of 9 he entered the USA with a group from school on some type of documentation that has raised questions.

          • David in MA

So, he did not come to America with his parents? Who had he lived with after arriving, I wonder.
Is age 9, back then, to young to be a foreign exchange student?

          • Ken says

Dave finish your research – Ted Cruz came here with other students from his school in Canada at about the age of 9 on some type of educational tour of the USA. He traveled on some type of passport or visa (info is difficult to find) and then returned to Canada – if you want to do something – track down his travel documents – OK?

          • FredSlice

Ted Cruz is as Nazi as Trump.

          • David in MA

Fred, I suggest you stay doing your homework and stay out of serious adult conversations.

          • FredSlice

            You’re a clown, and a Nazi.

        • Ken says

Ironic that the Pretender in Chief – Arrogant Loner King Bo has the same resume.

          • FredSlice

Go suck your swastika, you dirty Nazi.

      • FredSlice

Cruz won’t be President because he is a Nazi and people hate him.

        • supergun

I think that is a little to much,,,come on man. I am a TRUMP follower, but how can you say such a thing against CRUZ. There is no common sense here, unless you are a liberal plant.

    • mustang6984

      WRONG!
Mr. Cruz was born of an American woman…he is therefore under the Constitution an American citizen who held dual citizenship.
Marco Rubio was born in the U.S. and is therefore an American citizen.

Nice try…NO CIGAR! Back to school with you.

      • mcgyver35

Both parent were CUBAN, Rubio is not eligible. Cruz, born NOT on Canadian soil. NATURALIZED not NATURAL BORN. He too is ineligible.

        • mustang6984

Repeating ignorant comments…does not make them truths.
Rubio was born IN THIS COUNTRY. Irrelevant as to the status of his parents citizenship. He is an American by birth
Cruz was born to an American citizen, his mother, and by law he is a U.S. citizen. No different than a person born in a foreign country to parents on duty in the military. The child born in a foreign country, of American parents, is by LAW and American citizen, and also can be considered a citizen of the country he.she was born in.
Your lack of the law…only shows you to be short on knowledge. Your insistence at trying to pass the short-coming off as knowledge…shows you to be STUPID!

          • mcgyver35

You are an idiot. The Constitution say natural born citizen born of AMERICAN parents

          • mcgyver35

READ THE CONSTITUTION. It states what I said. But I understand people don’t like facts that contradict their viewpoints.

          • mustang6984

Sorry…but you need to keep up with the LAW…and the LAW states quite clearly that YOU are walking around with your head stuck up your exit chute!

Seems that it is YOU who doesn’t like the FACTS!

          • mcgyver35

So the new laws stomp on the Constitution and that makes it OK and right????? Screw you and your view. You must be a NATURALIZED citizen too

          • mustang6984

Not a “new” law. As I stated., the ruling was handed down by SCOTUS decades ago.
No…I am not a naturalized citizen. My mother’s side of the family landed here in the mis-1800’s…my fathers in 1908.

Your brain (such as it is) is definitely not here yet though!

          • mcgyver35

The Supreme Court Of The United States hadn’t even been formed when the Constitution was written. Their interpretation doesn’t change what it says.

          • mustang6984

LOL!!! Your ignorance of how things work is amply evident. It is the INTERPRETATION of the Constitution that IS the law of the land. Like it or not…THAT is how things are and how they work in this country.
            Deal with it.

          • mustang6984

            Rubio was NATURAL BORN.
Cruz was born of an American citizen. His mother.

By LAW…a LEGAL decision from SCOTUS…decades ago…BOTH are LEGAL citizens of the U.S.A.!

The idiots here…is the guy looking back at you in the mirror each day when you (hopefully) brush your teeth!

          • mcgyver35

Your next glass of koolaid is on it way

          • mustang6984

If that is the best you got…then you got NOTHING!

          • mcgyver35

Like I said. You refuse the truth.

          • mustang6984

The LAW is the truth…you seem to have a problem with that FACT!

          • mcgyver35

Hey stupid. I did not say they were not legal citizens. I said that they are not NATURAL BORN citizens. They are NATURALIZED citizens. That is what makes them ineligible.

          • mustang6984

And I am telling you AGAIN…they are NOT naturalized…they are BORN as U.S. citizens…according to the LAW of the land…confirmed by the SCOTUS decades ago!

And this…is what makes YOU the one who is STUPID!

          • mcgyver35

And I’m telling you again. You are wrong

          • mcgyver35

Canada did NOT allow dual citizenship when Ted Cryz was born. His mom had became a Canadian citizen because of the length of her stay there. Cruz was born as a Canadian citizen. He renounced his Canadian citizenship in 2014 when he decided to run for office.

          • David in MA

When he had held it for all of his 43 years of life.
To me it looks more like another Obama every day.

          • mcgyver35

He renounced his citizenship just in time to run for President. How convenient. Judges can’t throw out the Constitution just because it doesn’t suit them.

          • mustang6984

LOL!!! Do realize just how completely STUPID you are? My grandmother (born in the early 1920’s) had dual citizenship in Canada and the U.S.
Go away ignorant one! His mother didn’t “become” Canadian just by length of time living there. It doesn’t work that way. Just like your brain doesn’t work!
            LOL!!!

          • mcgyver35

Canada didn’t even recognize citizenship in the 20s. It was a Providence. They didn’t recognize citizenship until the 40s and they did NOT recognize dual citizenship until 1972, after Cruz was born. And during the time Ted’s mom was in Canada, if a foreigner stayed for a year the Canadian government considered them a citizen.

          • mustang6984

Keep making stuff up…fits your dream world I guess.

          • mustang6984

The LAW says I am correct. Sorry for your terminal illness of STUPIDITY!

          • David in MA

            Here is the information:

            http://www.examiner.com/articl

Did Cruz’s parents submit this document? It is very doubtful:

            http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/p

          • mustang6984

And you know they did not? Nope…you don’t. So…your mouth is flapping in the breeze…but nothing coming out of any substance.

          • mustang6984

And do you KNOW (no you do not) they didn’t?

Give it up boys…you are both fishing with no bait or even hooks on the end of your line!

          • mcgyver35

And what you WISH it says doesn’t make it true.

          • mustang6984

That IS the law. I don’t need to wish. Suggest YOU take your own advice…and go back to school!

          • mcgyver35

I KNOW what the Constitution says. Not what a judge some where that didn’t like what it said tried to change it to his OPINION. Like I said. READ THE CONSTITUTION…….. NOT WHAT SOMEONE SAYS.

          • mustang6984

READ THE LAW! It is the ONLY thing that matters…not YOUR interpretation of same.

            Good night!

          • mcgyver35

As I have stated over and over. Not my opinion… READ THE CONSTITUTION!!!!

          • mustang6984

And as you have been instructed…it is the LAW of the land that the interpretation of that document is that ANY person born of an American citizen anywhere in the world…is also considered an American citizen BY BIRTH. See Barry Goldwater, or John McCain for previous examples of that FACT!

If you were this thick-headed in school…I can understand why you are so ignorant today!

          • David in MA

Rubio is a citizen, but not a Natural Born Citizen as the Constitution requires and as the framers of the Constitution understood NBC.
Cruz is a Canadian, at the time of his birth in Canada, Canada did not allow dual citizenship and there is concern his mother like his dad took Canadian citizenship which makes Cruz a Canadian.

          • mustang6984

LOL!!! Rubio was born in Florida…pretty much makes him what you ‘claim” Cruz to not be. You lose.

Your IGNORANCE about Canada and citizenship is showing. My grandmother on my father’s side was born in the early 1920’s…IN Canada. She held dual citizenship ALL her life form her early childhood to her death.

Concern doesn’t mean squat. But you keep on making a fool of yourself along with your butt buddy in front of the ENTIRE civilized world!
Comedy is a good thing…and you two are making everyone educated person laugh!

          • boone1

You have too be a liberal or just plan stupid.

          • mustang6984

LOL!!! Because I am SMARTER than you…obviously have a MUCH better education than you…and do not run around making a fool of myself LIKE you…then you ASSume I am a liberal?

Sorry…but the two classes of stupid people in this world ARE the liberals…and pseudo conservatives who hate just for the fun of hating.

Not sure which class you are in…but it is DEFINITELY the class of the stupid.

      • mcgyver35

You need to go to school. You need to read the article. It 100% correct which in turn makes you 100% incorrect.

        • mustang6984

No…it is NOT correct. See response to you below.

    • supergun

Great comment. Most people do not know that the clintons started the birther dis-information about obama. They were using it for their advantage to try and win the nomination. It is well documented. Research it.

      • David in MA

        True.
I recall that hag Hillary made a comment they had “dirt” on Obama but they never divulged what it was and I have always thought that they knew he was not born in America but in what is now Kenya. They were also reported to have had threats against themselves and Chelsie so they kept quiet.

        • supergun

The drive~by~media makes it look like TRUMP started the birther issue. It was the clintons 100%.
