Trump draws even with Clinton in national White House poll

by
May 12, 2016

Republican Donald Trump pulled even with Democratic rival Hillary Clinton in a Reuters/Ipsos opinion poll released on Wednesday, in a dramatic early sign that the Nov. 8 presidential election might be more hotly contested than first thought.

While much can change in the six months until the election,

the results of the online survey are a red flag for the Clinton campaign that the billionaire’s unorthodox bid for the White House cannot be brushed aside.

Trump’s numbers surged after he effectively won the Republican nomination last week by knocking out his two remaining rivals, according to the poll.

    go trump

  • Camille Gilliam

Don’t forget that Dr. Carson is going to help, and he settles Trump down. Mr. Trump has started using a teleprompter and that has also made a difference. He does want to save this country, and atleast he is not a liar ,thief and murderer, like someone else we know. Maybe if we all pray for him to be the best for America that would also help.

  • pmbalele

What difference does that mean anyway? There is rumor that Trump wants to bail out of the whole thing. He does not want to be bothered by a job that pays $400,000 a year when he can make that money in a month. He says it’s not worthy it especially when Romney and other GOP elites accuse him of no releasing his tax returns. So forget about Trump now. Let’s go back to GOP drawing board and nominate Romney – the hypocrite.

Ted Cruz has said over and over again that NO ONE will reach 1237 before the convention. But let’s just suppose that Donald Trump does reach 1237. It would be meaningless, and Trump would not automatically be the nominee. See the article below per Red State. It depends on what transpires at the convention. Still hoping and praying for Ted. There are more than just a few delegates who dislike Trump.

Why Donald Trump Getting 1,237 Bound Delegates Doesn’t Mean He Wins

By: streiff (Diary) | April 23rd, 2016 at 04:30 PM RedState

That’s the magic number. The number of votes needed for a candidate for the GOP presidential nomination to actually become the nominee. We’re seeing the idea that 1,237 bound delegates means that Donald Trump, or anyone else, wins on the first ballot butthat really isn’t the case.

Curly Haugland, a longstanding RNC official and an unbound delegate from North Dakota who will be on the convention rules committee in July, told CNBC that attaining 1,237 during the primaries does not secure the nomination.

“Even if Trump reaches the magic number of 1,237 the media and RNC are touting, that does not mean Trump is automatically the nominee,” Haugland said. “The votes earned during the primary process are only estimates and are not legal convention votes. The only official votes to nominate a candidate are those that are cast from the convention floor.”

  • OBAMAHATER4SURE

DONALD TRUMP is the person for the job & the mess that OBUMMER has setup to leave us with. Trump will run it like a business & get rid of all the waste & fraud that had been injected into the system over the last 40 years. the only reason that the establishment politicians don’t like him & won’t support him is one thing & one thing only, they see the gravey train stopping which means no more 2 month vacations every summer with full pay & expences, & a 10% to 15% cut in their pay & no more cadillac health insurance plans for government employees period. They all will be on the same plan as the rest of the citizens of the country.
NO MORE OBAMA- CARE for anyone period. If Trump isn’t elected & killary the crook is elected it will not take her to finish off this country to make us a true 3rd world country.
Enough said for now more coming later.

  • Teserra

The week of the Demo Convention, a documentary called “Cash Clinton’s” will be shown on TV. Be sure to look for this and tell all to watch it. It is about their Foundation and basic money laundering. I hope this effects her campaign.

  • disqus_BAvz0LV7zw

As soon as Trump starts on Hillary’s crookedness, this will change dramatically on Trumps favor. So, stay tuned.

  • Edgardo L. Perez-De Leon

Hillary will need $5B USD to pay for a Huge Huge Huge disinformation campaign that can swept under the rug her corruption and her enabling of her rapist husband. Not even the sorcery of this witch with a big broom will help! Asking the Republicans to support her will alienate Republicans and Independents. If she is indicted Killary will be dead.

  • 7818TD

By now Guccifer, Putin, China more than likely, and Heaven only knows how many people have the emails, and I bet there not pretty. Through her laziness, and lack of intelligence, she has opened up all of her chicanery to the whole world. Someone this dumb wants to be President????? Of course, the Santa Claus parasites don’t care, but there’s more of us. Goodbye, Evil Witch.

    • plum82

You under estimate her intelligence………..the bitch is very intelligent BUT her greed is overwhelming……that’s her (and billy boy) downfall………

  • American Me

I am with Trump. He may be a little rough around the edges at times but I think he can do what he says he will.If you have been paying attention through this whole campaign and have been watching his Sons and Daughters, they all are very professional and well behaved. That says a whole lot about the man who raised them.I would be proud to call any of them friend, including Mr. Trump.I hope he can take the lead and win big in November.

  • Anybody who votes for Hillary has shit for brains. She is a pathological liar, criminal and responsible for the deaths of four US citizens in Benghazi, Libya. The FBI should come out and say that they are recommending an indictment against Hillary even though that bitch Lynch won’t prosecute her.

    • plum82

Billary and her cohorts are cut from the same cloth…..GIMME GIMME GIMME……..what’s in it for me ?????????

    • Phyllis

She keeps saying the FBI hasn’t talked to her yet but neglects to mention they have spoken to her attorney. If there is criminal intent of this type I am not sure it falls under Lynch.(what state is her true residence and which state did the emails take place where her server is concerned. And I am sure Ob could pardon her, legal or not. And, lol, whatever would the country do with Bernie? charming and freeloader that he is in his old age. I abhor his political leanings but admire his stamina and gumption in his senior moments without a clue how all the freebies will be paid for with no jobs etc…regardless of whether she is convicted or not, the emails reveal she is a traitor and a murderess via refusal to take the cries for help in Benghazi.

    • mustang6984

      That’s PATHOLOGICAL LIAR…need to be sure it stands out! :-}

And she is the mother of ISIS…and gave Putin back his balls too.

  • garyrmck

Amazon.com CEO Jeff Bezos, who is also a Democratic Party donor and controls a personal investment firm that owns the Washington Post, now has an army of 20 newspaper staffers to scour Donald Trump’s life for any dirt they can find on the presumptive GOP nominee. I would urge you to boycott Amazon.

Additionally, Mark Zuckerberg is the chairman, chief executive, and co-founder of the social networking website, Facebook. It has recently been divulged by dissident employees of Facebook that they are using sophisticated algorithms to manipulate what is trending, making anything of a conservative nature appear to be unimportant and insignificant. This is a blatant violation of the public trust and highly unethical! Zuckerberg has publicly attacked Donald Trump. Again, I would urge you to boycott Facebook.

    • speedle24

      Amen brother

    • 7818TD

These mudrakers are seeing their world of graft collapse, Trump will be maligned, harrassed, his character attacked, they’ll pull out all the Stops, and America doesn’t care.

      • plum82

        BINGO & AMEN ~~~~~~~~~~

    • plum82

What else is new in todays society?

    • mustang6984

How can I boycott something I NEVER have used? Don’t do Amazon…and have no desire to be a Facebook Freak.

  • Edward Czyz

The closer we get to the election…..I believe the more Trump pulls away. I was at a wedding in Pennsylvania two weeks ago…a state that is a swing state and went to Obama the past two elections. It will go Republican in the fall…..

    • Bos95

I live in PA and think that you are right. Now if we could only vote out the Democratic Governor Wolf. But I think he has another year to go.

      • ALBERT

Wolf is the worst Governor in PA we ever had still no budget since last June 2015 YR. What a joke he is. Should of voted for Mickey Mouse !!!!

    • ALBERT

Thank God PA Voters wized up & Voted For Trump. Trump will win PA by a landslide. Hellary nobody wants you.

  • Lilly Putney

What we all need to do is ask all of these protesters ARE YOU BETTER OFF NOW THAN YOU WAS 8 YEARS AGO. As far as I know he has never said any thing about the black people. What he talks about is people coming here illegal and the illegal immagrants that are coming from Syria and other Muslium countries. Me I want to know if some nut job hell bent on destroying the America way of lifeand maybe our own lives wouldn’t you want to know who they are?

    • American Me

That is part of the reason so many Americans are out of work and the longer the borders are wide open the worse the unemployment will become. No country can survive open borders and unlimited immigration.

  • USPatriotOne

I don’t know who takes these so called poles, but I have spoken with hundreds of people and all of them, and I do mean all, are voting for Trump. These poles never call me! The Poles are complete and total Commie/Liberal BS put out by the Commie/LiberalMedia for Hitlary for Prison..!!! Lie, nothing but LIES..!!! But then the Commie/Demorat motto is…More LIES From The LEFT, and We are PROUD of IT..!!!

    • Lilly Putney

A lot of people are afraid of letting it out that they support Trump. One Lady had some Trump signs but was afraid to put them up. Me I have stickers all over my car and proud of them.

      • plum82

YEP put a trump sticker on your car AND it WILL get vandalized………….scum bags abound…….

        • mustang6984

Look up the word “scumbag” in the dictionary…and it has a picture of the Donkey Party mascot.

    • mustang6984

      Polls…
Poles are people from Poland. Or those things firemen slide down.

      Other than that…spot on! :-}

  • gerald Hughes

Trump is very likely the only thing that can prevent civil war.

  • mrp15

So much for Hillary’s double digit leads. By election day, she’ll have double digit deficits.

    • mustang6984

She already does have those double digit deficits…between her lips…which is what makes her a PATHOLOGICAL LIAR!

  • David Stovall

He is rude, crude and uncouth. Sometimes a necessary medicine tastes bad , but our nation is sick and we have to take it . Hillary would make us much sicker.

    • Dawn Heidi Walters

      good points David

    • gerald Hughes

      Hear, hear

    • USPatriotOne

Who, Bill and his Wife Hitlary for Prison!

    • 7818TD

You could be pleasantly surprised, having a real American for a President, would sure be change from the Opportunistic Trash that passes for Lawmakers, now.

    • American Me

I have been thinking about his behavior lately and wonder how much of that is real and how much of it is just to capture the anger of the American people.Trump is a smart man and has led from day one.I think he loves this country and will be a great president if we can get him elected.I could be wrong but millions of other americans seem to think so too.

      • plum82

        You ARE NOT wrong…………

      • SDofAZ

Key words are smart and loves this country. The big plus not noted is his financial credentials and we are going to need them. Unlike BO he knows better than to do what the Feds have done. But the fix for this country and our economy will not be without substantial pain. To right the boat means letting the market and the world do what is going to amount to a depression. And thanks to BO who has lit the fuse, this bomb is going to go off as he leaves. He wants to leave this country in the worst shape possible and guaranteed he will make sure it happens and is inherited by whoever is the next president. He wants to be able to say it did not happen on his watch but in actuality he stripped the piggy bank to buy it off for this long.

It has been perking now for over eight years. The sickness is evident in the weak economy even with the stimulous of negative interest rates and the falling of many foolish nations into essentially bankruptcy even with the stimulous. The freeloaders are gonna hate it but there is no choice. Cutting off the koolaide for that bunch will bring about the scream heard around the world.

        • used_to_be_a_liberal

Yup, you are not wrong. I do agree you with you 99.9% But it has not just been the last 8 Years. We have been played, conned, and scammed beginning with Bush 1, continued under Clinton, Bush 2 carried the torch of deception, and Obama is trying to hammer the final nails into the coffin.
The country appears to be waking up, with that comes a major attitude change. When Trump is elected president, their will be such a sigh of relief, as a burden has been lifted from our shoulders. This will culminate in positive attitudes, hopefully circumventing some of the negatives that you have pointed out.
But you are right, there will be those that will be dragged kicking and screaming into a reality that should never have disappeared.

          • mustang6984

Actually you are quite wrong. It began back in the mid-60’s…starting with the “Great Society” of LBJ. The bill for that debacle is a large part of what is driving this country to the edge…and will be the weight that pulls us over the edge.

          • used_to_be_a_liberal

Well I am not going to disagree with you on that, except to say that we have a chance in November to remove that weight.

          • mustang6984

One can only hope…but I’ll not hold my breath.
The problem with LBJ’s “Great Society” is that over a 50 year life span, it has become so ingrained in today’s society, that it almost as entrenched as Social Security…and no one know how to kill it off.

        • mustang6984

True…want a look at what is coming? Look at one of the most if not THE most liberal countries in the world..Greece. It is so broke now that it depends on Germany to keep it afloat.
Doubling our National Debt to $19 Trillion…only put off the inevitable…a tsunami of huge proportions that will cull much of the population.
Those who think their waste don’t stink when they leave the toilet…will be some of the first to discover how painful their existence is…and will be among the first to starve when they realize that those “hillbillys” and “backward fools” in the rural areas are eating fine and surviving…whilst they starve and become prey for others.

      • mustang6984

I think there is more to your thoughts than even you might believe. Guess one way to find out just how ticked off people are…is to REALLY touch all those buttons that have gone unpushed for decades. Would appear that they should have been pushed a long, Long, LONG time ago.

    • Phyllis

If he truly were the way you say, it would show in his children too and it doesn’t. I am voting for him but I do believe he will cave in to the elites where the immigration of muslims is concerned and will simply appoint another panel to evaluate and nothing will change there and start another panel where healthcare is concerned etc. You can’t serve two masters at the same time, you will love one and hate the other. We shall see. Paul Ryan isn’t going to change, he had to have a promise that he wouldn’t be moved from his position if he took the Speaker seat. These long time politicians on both sides aren’t going to give up their gravy train and the NAFTA deal Clinton made won’t likely go away either as too much money is being made by people who could care less if you starve or not. It doesn’t bother me that Trump is changing his image but he is starting to change the wording where his projected policies are concerned.

      • SDofAZ

I guess we will see. But we still have a job to do. Ryan, Pelosi and McCain should all have termination papers this year. All are up for reelection. In AZ we want McCain gone and Kelli Ward is running against him, a good conservative. Sic em! Vote em out and tell everyone you know in those states to vote em out!

        • Phyllis

Pelosi getting voted out? My fondest dream come true.

          • mustang6984

Yea…well…given that she is representing ‘Frisco…more like a fantasy than a dream…and it ain’t gonna happen. The fruits and nuts will keep her as long as she is breathing.

          • ABO

Unfortunately, you are on the money with that mustang.

          • ALBERT

Wonder how many Pelosi face lifts she has had ??????? Rino Go Home nobody likes you.

          • Phyllis

You think I am a Rino? lol. no one likes me? I have just a little under 4000 up votes and I don’t up vote myself. You have a little over 400 ups and do vote for yourself. If you can’t stand the heat, get out of the kitchen. I have over 70 yrs of watching politics and have never been brainwashed into just one party. Go Trump, no matter which party you are running on.

          • ALBERT

Phyllis, I hate Pelosi & I called Pelosi a Rino Not you. I’m a Trump supporter, My whole family switch from Democrat To Republican so we could vote For Donald Trump. In Pa Trump won all the counties, I’m glad you got 4,000 up votes congrads. Bye Albert

          • Phyllis

Thanks for clarifying. Half of my relatives are in Pa and I know they are concerned over what is happening in our country. It offends me when the Trump supporters are labeled ignorant, etc. One of my relatives in support in PA is an attorney, one is an engineer, one was a bank manager, one a head librarian, etc… In the state where I presently live, I share housing with a registered nurse. All Trump supporters. I also hope Mr. Ryan steps down as he and the select elites no way represent the people. I am on a roll for a moment. About the transgender toilets. My friend has a son who has Cerebral Palsy and cannot speak, and when she takes him to a public restroom, this transgender crap is going to be a can of worms for her and her son who is highly intelligent and frail and a prime candidate for a predator in bathrooms. In order to accommodate the transgender they are discriminating in a big and serious way those who are unable to speak. His inability to talk has nothing to do with cerebral palsy but a piece missing inside his mouth when he was born and it doesn’t show. I find it amusing that most people talk loud to a person when they can’t speak assuming they are deaf also. This young man is attractive and hence a potential victim on his own.

Phyliss, I agree with you 100 % well said !!!

      • David Stovall

        1. he may be the medicine maybe not 2. we have no doubts about Hillary, she is destruction. So I see no choice, I have to vote for the best opposite of Hillary.

      • fbusch

Does no one remember Obama saying that we live in the greatest country in the world and he wanted our help to change it? good or bad, trump will shake the tree and run off some of the worst of them!!!

    • Phyllis

Hillary won’t make us sick, she will make us dead.

      • SDofAZ

        Most certainly dead broke.

      • mustang6984

She will bring war to our shores…and with her desire to remove us from our personally owned weapons…we WILL be dead!

Castor Oil was a dreaded remedy for oh so many ailments many years ago. But…it sure fixed the illnesses.

Could be the time has come for this nation to get an extra-large spoonful of Castor Oil.

      • Phyllis

Oh my gosh, that is weird. I went to the drugstore a few weeks ago to pick up a few items and looked for the castor oil, couldn’t find it and I was close to the pharmacy. I walked over to the woman who had one of those head- coverings on and asked if she could point me to the correct aisle. She said I would have to get it from the pharmacist, so I started down to the next window when another head- covered woman came up to the first one and she called me back and asked what I wanted it for and I looked her in the eye and said lots of things. She went down to the regular pharmacist and told him I was wanting castor oil and wouldn’t tell her why. He came out and walked over to a regular counter, handed it to me, rolled his eyes at me and went back to work. I don’t feel like I owe an explanation to these ‘gee I can’t show my hair and some their face’ for why I buy castor oil or apple juice or band-aids etc. Frankly, when it was invented it was to be used as a poultice to draw out infection and it does work that way and at some point someone decided if it works that good on the outside it must be terrific on the inside..ugh. I use it for dry feet, line reduction,(one must be cute in one’s old age), slide my rings off when my fingers swell. On the plus side she didn’t ask me why I was buying a potted tulip… I wish she had as I was PREPARED for DEBATE. lol. Egads, does anyone know what it feels like to be GRILLED as to what one does with castor oil?

        • mustang6984

ROTFLMAO! Not laughing at you…but your narrative! Well written! LOL!!!
A buddy of mine and I (he’s 73 I’m 63) were just discussing today how much better life was when we were kids and young adults as compared to today.
Then…things were oh so simple, today….all the stupid regulations we have and the nosy people we have who think they need to know everyone else’s business…makes life so difficult!

I LOVE your narrative! And I am right on board with you…100%!!!

    • Upaces

That’s exactly what I like about Trump. He doesn’t “smooze” anyone making it so vague like other politicians…”What did he say?…(meaning politians” say? OR, they out-and-out and betray us with a lie

We ALWAYS know what he thinks!
