Churches fight back against Iowa bid to silence biblical views on sexuality, gender identity

Two churches are fighting back against the Iowa Civil Rights Commission after the agency issued an interpretation of state law that could bar churches from expressing biblical views on sexuality and gender identity — even from the Sunday pulpit.

Fort Des Moines Church of Christ filed a federal lawsuit against the commission on Monday, arguing that the agency’s interpretation of the Iowa Civil Rights Act violates the First Amendment.

Christiana Holcomb, legal counsel for the Alliance Defending Freedom, which represents the church, said it is difficult to “imagine a more obvious unconstitutional invasion of the state into the internal affairs of the church” than what the Civil Rights Commission is proposing.

“Churches should be free to teach their religious beliefs and operate their houses of worship according to their faith without being threatened by the government,” Ms. Holcomb said in a statement. “That is a foundational First Amendment principle.”

Here is a video on how these Muslims are coming to our rural America and what we as people pay for them. Iowa no different and instead of going after Christians they need to do a heads up to the Muslims there.

Why go after Christian churches when mosques are preaching Jihad and rape and murder of infidels?

We must get all these liberals out and fast.

BECAUSE OUR OWN GOVERMENT IS AGAINST US AND TRYING TO BRING AMERICAS MORALS DOWN ,TAKING GOD OUT OF EVERYTHING AND LETTING THE ENEMY / MUSLIMS IN OUR CAMPS / AMERICA TO FINISH US OFF

People are worried about how new Supreme Court justices will rule on cases regarding their second amendment rights. We should all be concerned with how the courts will rule on cases set to limit our First Amendment rights to religion, speech and peaceable assembly.

Many of these fairness ordinances seek to limit our First Amendment rights if they disagree with the ordinance.

    No.
Not “Churches SHOULD be free to teach their religious beliefs…”
Churches ARE free to teach their religious beliefs. We don’t need to keep asking permission. It’s a done deal. The constitution guarantees us that right. Besides, we will still speak the truth whether allowed by law or not.

ALL CHURCHES BETTER STAND ON THE WORD OF GOD NO MATTER WHAT !!!

When they go into the mooslim mosque and stop the hate being preached against Americans and anyone who does not submit to their evil then we’ll have our fight to stop the evil of heathen politicians..

Words have consequences. You’re free to say whatever you want and I’m free to reject it. Don’t be an idiot.

Rodney Steward I know many people in my community that are homosexuals that go to church so your statement is dead wrong. Do I agree with their lifestyle no but I wouldn’t stop them from attending church. As to what Iowa is doing is not right it does go against the constitution. What are they going to do next, go into peoples homes and tell them what they can and cannot preach to their family. Sounds like 1984 or the series of books titled Left Alone.

    • Rodney Steward

Well I don’t know that many queers and don’t want to know any, and I do agree that it is Unconstitutional at what is being done! And as Rocky commented above, the mosques are not being touched, and these places are being used as armories for islam! And I don’t know any queers around here that go to church, unless it’s the closet ones!

      • onefour

I totally agree that mosques need as much if not more scrutiny than churches. Churches are wide open anyone can enter but not so mosques.

        • Rodney Steward

You know yourself that this GAY thing about the Churches is just a push to ban Christianity! When everything goes to he$$, gays will be on our side, because the people that go to these mosques and the black army that has been built by Obama will be our enemy, in fact, they already are! Over half of these black terrorist groups have already converted to islam!

          • onefour

            Of course I do.

      • Pete Julian

Two separate rules are in effect- one gives muzzlims a pass on everything and Christians are held to a different standard.

  • Rocky

If churches are made to conform to the government rules for protecting everyone then why aren’t the mosques being stopped from preaching shariah law, kill homosexuals and beat your wife

    • Joey Smith
