Florida’s Republican governor urges Congress to let Dreamers remain in the U.S.

florida_governor_58875_c0-0-6999-4079_s561x327TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (AP) — Florida Gov. Rick Scott wants Congress to take action to let young immigrants brought into the country illegally by their parents to remain in the United States.

Scott late Friday jumped into the debate over the fate of the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals program, or DACA, which has given nearly 800,000 young immigrants the ability to work legally in the country and a reprieve from deportation. President Donald Trump is expected to announce next week his plans for the program.

The Republican governor said in a statement that “I do not favor punishing children for the actions of their parents.”

Scott, who is expected to challenge U.S. Sen. Bill Nelson next year, did say that then-President Barack Obama was wrong to create the program by executive order.

It is way past time these people to stop day dreaming and either apply for citizenship or gather up their family and return to their own home land.

  • roboteq

Under what legal pretense does Rick Scott feel that anyone who has entered the U.S. illegally should be allowed to remain in the U.S.? Twelve year old illegal immigrants are committing major crimes and not being prosecuted because of their age. It is despicable that these children are being used by foreigners to infiltrate the U.S. and do harm to our society, but it not the responsibility of the U.S. to allow this illegal action to continue or not be legally remedied. If a child who is illegally in the U.S. cannot be safely sent back to their country of origin, then some sort of detainment camp for the sole purpose of indoctrinating these youth into the U.S. as loyal American citizens needs to be set up. We cannot expect these young illegal aliens to become decent citizens by just letting them on their own to be further abused by criminal elements.

I live in Florida, this scum got his jollies running with Trump in rallies, led us to believe he believed in Trump’s agenda, yet this putrid, piece of carrion came back to Florida, did nothing to close Sanctuary cities, did nothing to stop the Refugee Program and now this. I have news for this turncoat you and Rubio can have lunch together cause neither one of you will be in politics again.

We don’t forget. Children grow-up and when they do they won’t be Republicans they will be progressive Communists. These children are ILLEGAL, they cost us billions and they deserve nothing but to be sent back to their countries and to come here legally so they might have a tiny bit of respect for our laws and for our Constitution.

Again I will quote saint Thomas Aquinas he teaches us that “the sentiment of compassion only becomes a virtue when it is guided by reason, since “it is essential to human virtue that the movements of the soul should be regulated by reason.”

“Without this regulation, compassion is only a passion. Like all passions, compassion in this case is a powerful but irrational inclination, and therefore a potentially dangerous one since it can favor not only good, but also evil. To feel pity at the sight of someone’s sufferings is normal. however, to act without prudent analysis may lead to unintended harm.”

Open borders, Refugee Program, Illegals and Anchor Babies and DACA have led to harm. Stop it and use reason or lose this country.

Sorry Scott, but these dreamers have grown up to be gangs and thugs! It is one of the most kept quiet secrets in the country, but the drugs and gangs and deaths are as bad as Chicago!!

    • bobnstuff

Some of the crimes weren’t murders, like GA. was leading the nation in car theft, but Florida is really bad, my best friend’s Son was on vacation with his wife and was robbed and murdered leaving a restaurant in the parking lot, left behind a 4 month child, by cuban thugs! And how many of these dreamers are living off our Gov., 99% !!

Another one soon to bite the dust?

  • mudguy1

If the Dreamers are allowed to stay then why have any laws at all if they are not enforced?

    • Rodney Steward

You’ve had the Bush’s that a lot of their family members are married to these so called (BUMS) dreamers, and then we had 8 years of Obama that didn’t believe in enforcing any laws!

A lot of Mexicans disappeared in my area during Bush 8 year term and most came during the Clinton term .

  • Walter Flatt

SCREW THIS GOVERNER. THE LAW IS THE LAW, ENFORCE IT, JUST LIKE PUBLIC LAW 414, PG. 2, SECTIONS 212, PASSED IN 1952 THAT BANS ALL MUSLIMS FROM THIS COUNTRY. ENFORCE OUR LAWS. IF NOT, WHY SHOULD YOU OR I OBEY ANY LAW.

  • Ralph – Msg Ret

Be careful Rick that road did not far well for Rubio!!

Maybe “children should not be punished for illegal acts of their parents” BUT the parents should not get a free ride on the backs of their children either.

    • Janis

Ralph, I am not stalking you (just replied to your post on John McCain), but again, I could not agree with you more. We now have been presented with the issue of not only possibly giving “dreamers” legal status, but the parents that intentionally broke our laws. This country does not operate on that premise. Yes, we do have compassion for these “kids”, but where does it all stop? This executive order has to end at some point. Perhaps President Trump should end the processing of any more applications and then extend the program to those already on it for a period of time (2 years). This will give them time to make a decision. Go back home to the country you came from, or run the risk of deportation, thus never, ever being able to come back. This will give time for all these employers who hired them to look for applicants for their jobs from actual U.S. citizens. In the meantime, the USA will have a database to examine and find those that have actually committed crimes, and deport them and their families immediately. I have to laugh at the left who constantly tells us that this is the only country these “kids” know and that they only know our culture. When I look at all the protests done by the “dreamers” over the years I see an awful lot of Mexican flags being waved and T-shirts with the Mexican flag on it. Also, their parents, for the most part, speak only Spanish in the home, so these “kids” could easily assimilate back into their native culture. They not only know their original culture, but they also rub our faces in it. As far as the kids who came here on tourist visas and their parents decided to overstay, they have to be sent back immediately. Their parents signed a contract with the US government when they applied for a tourism visa that they would return to their home country. They broke the contract, not the USA. We owe them nothing.

      SO TRUE!

Open borders, Refugee Program, Illegals and Anchor Babies and DACA have led to harm. If reason is not used we will lose this country. Our immigration laws have quotas also for a reason. You don’t bring in one race of people for years and years and years while ignoring the consequences to the survival of our race and our Culture, that includes Muslims brought here for 8 straight years.

      • Pete

This past eight months has caused quite a number of the self proclaimed “conservatives” to surface as actually progressive globalists. The system has been so corrupted for so long that there is little difference between the elite of either political party.
Term limits are really needed, but I doubt the political class will ever let it happen.

        • Tiger

          Exactly.
