New Hampshire Gov. Maggie Hassan is calling on Minority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.) to apologize for saying New Hampshire shouldn’t have a big role in picking the presidential nominees because it has few minorities.
“Senator Reid’s disparaging comments about New Hampshire are as insulting as they are wrong, and an apology would certainly be appropriate,” said the Democratic governor, who is running for the party’s Senate nomination.
Reid criticized the roles that New Hampshire and Iowa play in the process of selecting presidential nominees. He said Nevada’s primary should be moved up because it better reflects the United States than Hassan’s state.
