Portland public schools ban textbooks that cast doubt on climate change

The Portland Public Schools board voted last week to ban any materials that cast doubt on climate change, the Portland Tribune reported.

According to the resolution passed May 17, the school district must remove any textbooks and other materials that suggest climate change is not occurring or that says human beings are not responsible for it.

“A lot of the text materials are kind of thick with the language of doubt, and obviously the science says otherwise,” said Bill Bigelow, a former Portland public school teacher who worked to present the resolution. Bigelow says textbook publishers are yielding to pressure from fossil fuels companies. “We don’t want kids in Portland learning material courtesy of the fossil fuel industry.”

One commenter to the Portland Tribune story responded to the news, saying, “I have never seen a case for homeschooling more clearly put forward. This is further proof that public schools are not interested in education, only political indoctrination.”

Again, another stupid decision by the state of Oregon! This is one state that has fallen off the deep end on almost everything, and is slowly becoming as sick as CAL! Global, wait, they couldn’t prove it was warming enough, it’s now CLIMATE CHANGE, IS A SCAMMMMMM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

We the people have a constitution, it does not allow what the Portland Public Schools are doing, our 1st amendment should cover this. The taxpayers pay for the schools, Good idea to not buy or visit Portland.

Oregon has become as liberal as Washington state and California. Their academics dissuade honest debate by censoring opposing viewpoints and demonizing those who have them. Such censorship is the only way libturds can advance their agenda because most intelligent people see them for the frauds that they are.

God may have been kicked out of the classroom but this measure shows that religion is still alive and well in Portland schools. Much of the global warming movement is nothing more than a religion. Its followers have elevated their beliefs far above what science can support, they are demanding total adherence to their beliefs and are doing all they can to shut down dissent. Although global warming followers may have no problem forcing their religion on others, the reality is that global warming is not scientific fact and its cause is not completely certain.

It’s interesting that over the last few decades a number of laws have been enacted to clear the air. As the air has got cleaner the global warming advocates claim the world has got warmer. It seems to me that it is time to consider whether our efforts to clean the air have had the effect of increasing the world’s temperature. I’ll let you think about that while the global warming trolls prepare for the attack.

Yeah, the global warming crowd reminds me of a religion, all right…radical Islam!

IF the Climate Change/Global Warming/Global Cooling scientists were correct- WHY do none of their predictions come true? WHY do they constantly REVISE their numbers/temperatures without acknowledging the ‘changes’. WHY do they only allow ‘peer review’ which amounts to little more than one lies and the other ones swear.

SCIENCE is a constant exploration for facts, one test nor a thousand will yield absolute
accurate answers if the testers are married to a specific answer (human caused) or money source.(federal funding)

They are supposed to challenge the outcomes by repeating the experiment FIRST to see if outcomes are the same. NEXT they are supposed to vary inputs, one at a time, to see if that changes the outcome.

INSTEAD they denigrate those who refute or question them, try to destroy the person exposing their lies or presenting other information/facts (geological record, solar cycles)

Instilling scientific methods is an important part of education. A hypothesis is neither Theory nor Law, only a question to be answered.
QUESTIONING is a sign of intelligence, seeking more information. Merely accepting everything you are told makes you weak sheep or slaves

Homeschooling is an answer, one of many. Learning other sciences (geology, archeology,, examining the historical records of an area)
all give you MUCH more knowledge AND cause a question of ‘climate science’

Also remember CO2 is PLANT FOOD, they in turn release O2 the very oxygen we humans NEED to breathe!

Government couldn’t tax you for breathing the air, so they charge you for exhaling instead.

Climate change is real, what is the problem? What is wrong with the truth?? A lot of kids today learn enough BS from their illiterate parents. This is a good thing…..

No, Climate change is a sugar coated name changed from “Global Warming” that environmental global elitist wackos called what we humans supposedly CAUSED the “greenhouse gases” & bunk way back in the early ’70’s! BTB It was SUPPOSED to be the END of humanity if we didn’t do as charlatan extraordinaire Alfred Algore said would happened by the end of 1990″s. I do however, make a motion that the NEW CONGRESS (we the people of the USA) BAN DC’s congress from implementing such dribble!

That is exactly what the schools need, a bevy of politicians making decisions about a theory and declaring that one side is irrevocably correct and making that declaration without overwhelming and irrevocable evidence.
In other words, there is money and/or power involved and the politicians, like greedy coc.kroaches, are on deck to feed on the detritus.
