Ted Cruz files to run again for Senate in 2018

Looking to tamp down on any speculation that he was a flash-in-the-pan senator, Ted Cruz announced Wednesday that he’s already filed to run for re-election in 2018 in Texas.

Mr. Cruz is in the middle of his fourth year in the Senate, having won election to his first term in 2012. He quickly turned his attention to running for president, but his bid for the GOP nomination flamed out last week.

“Heidi and I feel incredibly privileged to have made the run for president and be part of an incredible grassroots movement,” Mr. Cruz said in a statement issued by his former campaign operation.

“I will continue fighting for jobs, freedom, and security in the Senate for 27 million Texans and all Americans across this great country. The conservative movement remains strong and vibrant. When conservatives are united, we are far more effective.”

I would think that Texas voters would want to see all his hidden paperwork this time.

He was worse than a flash-in-the-pan senator. His colleagues on capitol hill surely don’t want to see or have to deal with him again. Goodbye, Mr. Shutdown.

Ted Cruz files to run again for Senate in 2018…
Cruz will continue fighting the conservative fight, regardless of party differences.
a Conservative and definitely needed in the Senate… Will people who voted against him in the Primary, be willing to Keep him as a Conservative Senator?
    We’ll See…Go Cruz!!

He’s a nightmare on capitol hill. Nobody wants to work with him because he isn’t a team player, he’s more of a ‘obstructionist.

      • Webb

        May he remain an “Obstructionist”…
By The Way, trump will be your next President…Enjoy!

        • BOC

He will not have anything to obstruct in the foreseeable future. He will go by the way of the Romney’s, Cantors and unfortunately Boehner. Don’t hold your breath about the Trumpster, he still has to get past his own GOP establishment first. If he does it’s not going to matter because he can’t stop the flow of women and republicans who will be beating down the election doors to vote for HRC.

Look, the majority of the American people are not going to allow reckless republicans back at the helm. You can starve the middle class and kill some via genocide, aka, Flint Water Crises. But, you can not keep them from going to the polls to vote, no matter how many precincts you close or shortened hours to cast ones vote. As long as voting is free of charge and the internet is still ‘humming’ like in 2009 and 2012, the GOP is doomed and they know it.

The Koch brothers and the Adelman’s of the world can buy these type of elections, just ask Mitt Romney and Karl Rove, who will never admit it.

          Brace yourself for defeat #3.

          • Webb

Alot stated but its all quicksand…
Speaking of Defeat…HRC has cost herself this election because she could not put away a Socialist…
A Republican Sweep in November 2016…Expect It, its coming!

          • BOC

You said it best, they are all in quicksand. Stop dreaming. HRC is the challenge that the GOP can overturn. That’s why they are praying that Bernie doesn’t pull the plug.

          • BOC

            Stop Dreaming!

No, the american people will never put a narcissist in the white house

          • Webb

Seven and half years of a narcissist in office now…In The Whitehouse !

  • justinwachin

Ted’s probably hoping Donald Trump will nominate him to the Supreme Court before 2018.

    • BOC

That will never happen and neither will Donald Trump.
