Planned Parenthood’s president on Wednesday thanked Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump for saying the women’s healthcare organization does “good work” outside of abortions, even as she criticized him as wrong on most issues.
“Well, this is one thing I agree with Donald Trump on — Planned Parenthood does amazing work for two and a half million patients every single year,” Cecile Richards said on MSNBC’s “Andrea Mitchell Reports.”
“I appreciate his kind words,” she added. “We’re very proud of our work here.”
Richards argued that Trump is still wrong on abortion, healthcare and women’s rights, though.
“I think women in this country, families and men, are going to be very concerned about a president who wants to roll back affordable healthcare in America,” said Richards, who supports Democratic presidential front-runner Hillary Clinton.
