Observers on Twitter noted Friday afternoon that the White House’s page on climate change, a creation of the Obama administration, appears to have been taken down shortly after Donald Trump assumed the nation’s presidency.

In its stead, the new White House published an explanation of what the Trump team is calling the “America First Energy Plan.”

At press time, the link to the White House page publicizing a plan to combat climate change leads to a blank page.

A cached version of the page shows that President Obama’s administration had used it to advertise a plan to reduce America’s carbon footprint and have America participate in “global effort to combat climate change.” “For the sake of our children and future generations, we must act now,” the page read, “And we are.”

The Trump administration has instead published a page that lays out its energy plan. “The Trump Administration is committed to energy policies that lower costs for hardworking Americans and maximize the use of American resources, freeing us from dependence on foreign oil,” the page reads. The page addresses finding economically viable energy solutions that are mindful of the environment:

Our need for energy must go hand-in-hand with responsible stewardship of the environment. Protecting clean air and clean water, conserving our natural habitats, and preserving our natural reserves and resources will remain a high priority. President Trump will refocus the EPA on its essential mission of protecting our air and water.

I forgot to take one last look at the whitehouse.gov website before the inauguration. This same sort of thing happened in 2009 when the website content changed with the change of presidents.

Global warming is a hoax. The wording which this story attributed to the Obama climate change page bears this out. One of the marks of a scam is a call to immediate action where the huckster defines the action. If global warming was real we would have seen some evidence. What we have seen is more akin to the actions of a religious cult where those who adhere to the faith system are deemed to be good and those who question the faith system are branded as heretics, infidels, enemies or worse.

Someone ought to check with Gov Perry. Now he says he BELIEVES in man made CLIMATE change.Instead of getting rid of the EPA he expects to institute programs to minimize mans effect on CLIMATE.Really? The computer models to date prove nothing except that we know the greatest influence on CLIMATE is the sun.The climate world wide was warmer from 950 to 1350 ce I.e. when the only man made machine was the wheel. These and other data which exculpates any man made role affecting climate were what was hacked 4 to 5 years ago from the Univ of East Anglia:the iinstitution that supplies the data for ALL CLIMATE COMPUTER MODELS.The hacking also revealed that the Univ professors thought it a pity that with the truth out redistribution of wealth WHICH WAS THEIR REAL GOAL would be harder. In fact they also predicted that withe the truth out the EU might fall a parrOt looks as though at least that prediction might come true.I guess we are now going to witness more than one 180 degree reveral in Trumps view of the role of go ernment. What a shock from the king of b.s. artists.

Gov Perry now states he BELIEVES MAN MADE CLIMATE CHANGE HAS TO BE ADDRESSED .The Marine general Trump chose as Secretary of Defense now believes we should continue relying on an Iran nuke deal that guarantees them an arsenal that has NO oversight of military facilities working on their nprogram that guarantees at least 24 days notice prior to an Iranian guided iinspection of other facilities and warns that he US plus 6 will any ANY NATION IE ISRAEL FROM INTERFERING WITH THE IRAN NUKE PROGRAM.Finally our proposed Sec of State still insists on a 2 state solution for Israel when that OTHER state calls for killing Jews wi0ping out Israeol destroying any Jew approaching a holy Muslim site 2which the UN now strays is all of Jerusalem and any land taken by Israel after it had been at5ackedin 1948 1967 193 and all the intifada since(of course not kentiobning Gaza as left by the Jews unilaterally over 10 years ago. With a “friendly”US government like this who needs Dems to destroy Israel?

Did anyone else notice Al Gore was mia at the inauguration? Do you think global warming vaporized him?

  • Stikit

I for one, am very happy, we changed the climate, in D.C., for a much cleaner environment! Through the inauguration of President Trump! It also helped to remove the trash, at the same time.

Thousands of emails hacked into and this entire scandal just blew over but when it comes to spending billions of American tax dollars giving them to the UN then it better have facts on the table.

    https://www.skepticalscience.com/Climategate-CRU-emails-hacked.htm

The Liberals just so used to saying something is so without proof they forget new man in town and he works for us not the UN or the EU.

You mean the Government Propaganda Page. This needs exploring because I have done a lot of research on this and found that thousands of emails were found that show scientists colluding with the UN to change stats and to push this agenda. The main objective which is to redistribute the wealth and this has been said outright by the leaders holding these conventions.

Also there are thousands of scientists who say it is hooey and many have told the UN so. The UN has been after this for ages and Bush and other presidents refused to come on board because of the billions that was wanted from America and the many countries who are huge polluters didn’t sign on and the entire science is new and must be subjected to debates and to all of us for the truth.

The UN picked a committee of people to decide how the money would be redistributed and want heavy taxes on all wealthy countries so they can give to Third World Shitholes that are run by Dictators who won’t do anything for the people anyway.

  • Rodney Steward

GREAT JOB President Trump, now can the UN!!

  • Pete

The framers of the Constitution were mindful of the horrors of a dictatorial government like the one that just got removed from power yesterday. King George was an egotistical a$$ that had run roughshod over the young nation until the yoke of bondage was thrown off forcefully.
Thanks to the wisdom of those same patriots of 1770-80’s who gave us the constitution, this time around the termination of a fledgling oppressive Progressive/Marxist administration was accomplished at the ballot box.
Be thankful that the shackles of dictatorial socialism were removed without firing a shot. The people of the USSR suffered with it for 70 years, we only had to put up with it for eight.

  • Terry T

The fact that the narrative was changed from “Global Warming” to “Climate Change” is an indication that the whole thing is a fraud.

If climate change is really a threat nothing we do will correct it, unless China and India cooperate because these two countries produce the world’s largest air pollution.

  • rodstew

…probably read John Cook’s 20 year study on climate change. Cook “asked” a number of scientist about “global warming.” Out of the many in the research, only 34 mentioned in their “reports” about man made global warming. Of the 34, 33 stated that they believed that man is causing global warming. When you divide 33 by 34, you get 97%. This is the 97% that you hear. When the lying P’sOS state that 97% of ALL SCIENTISTS AGREE, they are referring to this one study. They are referring to this original 34 and promise that this is ALL. Global warming, like obummercare, is just wealth distribution. Conservatives and liberals agree on equality. There is one great exception. Conservative believe in CAPITALISM where everybody starts out equal. Liberals are SOCIALIST

    • Mike N

No only is it wealth distribution it is another tool being used to lead the world to a one-world-order.

  • teaman

I agree with your plan President Trump, but you will have to fire a whole bunch of radical perverted left brain dead money hungry global warming minded idiots first. The, so called, science is one sided and NOT settled. One thing to keep in mind, our Nation and the world will not survive without carbon in the air and that’s a fact proven over and over again. Ask yourself this question; how many volcanic eruptions has our world survived in just the last two hundred years?……and there is nothing a human can do that will spew as much carbon as a volcanic eruption!!

First thing should be a ban on wasting energy producing alcohol for Gasoline, Even the EU is stating to go crazy on Raising corn for Alcohol. Thank the UN for that. Obama was their puppet.

  • bobnstuff

In less then ten years we will be the only country still burning coal for energy, China will be the worlds leader in new energy technology. We will have the most expensive energy cost in the world. Forget the climate change, look at the economics. Green is good business.

    • BOC

I don’t know where you get you information Bob, but China is putting a coal fired plant on line on average every 7-10 days with no end in site. To a lesser degree countries such as Japan ad India are also building them at a high rate. I don’t see any of these countries investing billions in new construction today only to turn them off over the next ten years.

Green energy. while sounding great on paper, is an abject failure in the marketplace and years from becoming a truly relevant source to replace fossil fuels. Many of the energy startup companies given large government grants were nothing more than paybacks to Obama bundlers. Solyndra is a shining example of how the political payback to party donors works wrapped around the feel good mantra of “Saving the Planet”.

The Climate Change hoax is another of the left’s attempts to control and dictate to citizens at a Global Level. While in college during the seventies, the push was that the threat to our planet was “Global Cooling”. That didn’t take , so they went with “warming” instead. I didn’t buy much of that then and I certainly don’t buy it now especially after reading the hacked emails from East Anglia that the leaders of the movement and in their own words cannot prove it’s existence or would not divulge that it’s a sham. Nope, the doubled down on it after being refuted by their own words.

There is a lot more information out there.

        http://fortune.com/2015/01/16/solar-jobs-report-2014/

Solar is now a larger employer then coal and these jobs pay better and you don’t die doing them. You really need to keep up with the times. Coal is a political football and the industry is dying. Many of the closed coalmine didn’t close because of any other reason then the easy to get coal ran out. It’s to bad that our new president doesn’t understand basic economic and that some people will believe just about anything. Coal is the past, let it die as it should. Green is the future so we need to get on board or we will be left behind.

        • rodstew

          ..please explain Solyndra…………….

        • BOC

While those are nice articles written by mostly lefties, in practice the transition to solar is not going exceedingly well in India. The article written by Peter Dockrill is a puff piece written by a Global Warming believer writing from the governments perspective of how great this transition to solar is great for their country. Having many citizens from from India working for and with me over the years they’ll be the first to tell you the transition to solar have made brown outs a common theme where they are allowed to use electricity at designated non peak times. The divide over their PM and his policies is remarkably similar to what we have experienced over the past 16 years.

I’ll make bank that China will shift back to putting those coal fired plants back up and running as they’ll find an even more difficult time running their massive power grid off solar,

The coal industry isn’t dying, it’s been savaged and summarily executed by our now former ideologically driven president. Many of the power plants are moving towards natural gas in my area of the country. Right now, energy bills are out of control due to the attacks on this industry and using alternative energy sources such as solar are still cost prohibitive to many in this country.

I will agree with you however that the future is reusable energy, but the technology is far from being advanced enough to run a country’s power grid. We should move in that direction, but not at the suffering of hard working Americans that are trying to survive and make a better life for them and their children. The pace of advancement in this direction should coincide with the continued development of the technology and not from our pocketbooks. We’re are one, if not the highest regulated country with regard to pollution and compared to the rest of the planet miles ahead with regard to carbon standards. India is suffering for this and China is, well China and they will do whatever it takes to do what’s best for them and the rest of the world be damned.

For the US the past 16 years, more so in the past 8 have put this country behind, economically and on the world stage. I’m hoping for better in the coming years. We will just have to wait and see what President Trump brings to the table.

We’ll just have to agree to disagree on this subject. I do however, agree that this is the path we should be pursuing but the technology is probably 30-60 years from being perfected at a level where we’ll can cap our oil wells and bury our mines. As I wrote earlier, with the standards we have for carbon emissions, coal along with natural gas are not only viable and needed resources to run our grid, the carbon emissions are minimal as compared to a Third World country, such as India, who for the sake of their people and their energy grid should move in that direction of emissions control while pursuing reusable energy sources.

You get the last word, enjoy your Saturday.

          • bobnstuff

You made many points and I could take them one at a time but instead I will just deal with two. China will not go back to coal. There economy is based on creating full employment so even if solar isn’t the cheap as long as the people support it and it creates jobs they will go with it. In case you have notice China has a big time problem with air quality and in the long run it’s just plan smarter to get rid of the coal that is creating the problem.

The coal industry is dying, much of the coal we export goes to countries that are closing the coal fired plants, much goes to our own power plants that are changing over to natural gas. Natural gas is cheaper, cleaner and just plan easier to deal with. Once you build a pipeline to the plant you are done, no trains no coal piles, not fly ask to deal with. Plus it’s cheaper per KW. Getting the gas out of the ground is also much cleaner. There are a lot of gas wells around me but you wouldn’t notice them unless you were looking. No mess.

There are old about 12 major tunnel mines left in the country, it takes a coal seam 24 Inches or more to mine coal profitably and the seams are thinning out. We now get most of our coal from pit mines, we take the tops off mountains. This take much fewer miners. Coal is just plan getting harder to mine. We have a few companies left in the business and they have a large amount of power in Washington. These people are fighting to get the last dollar out of the industry they can. I live in coal country and have a family history in the industry. Those good paying jobs in the mines are gone and not ever coming back. When I was a kid we had coal trucks passing our house every ten minuets, now it’s been almost forty years since I have one go by. The mine companies in my area are all gone. My town was for half a century the largest producer of coal in the region. Times are changing. While running for President Trump spent a fair amount of time in my area and made a number of promises about bring back jobs in coal and steal to us. This is one of the reasons I didn’t support him. Either he didn’t understand why these jobs left and just what it would take to bring them back or he was just plan lying to get votes. Either way it was one of many reasons I didn’t vote for the man.
