Rep. Nancy Pelosi formally announced Wednesday she is running to retain her spot as House minority leader and sent a warning shot to potential rivals by informing her colleagues that she has already locked up “the support of more than two-thirds” of the Democratic caucus.

Mrs. Pelosi has led the caucus since 2003, but the results of the election last week convinced the caucus to delay a scheduled vote this week on leadership posts until Nov. 30, with members saying they want more time to digest the shellacking the party took.

Rep. Tim Ryan of Ohio, meanwhile, has emerged as a potential challenger and has warned that the party has lost touch with working-class voters in the Rust Belt and Midwest that it will need to recapture a House majority.

Mrs. Pelosi, though, made it clear in a letter to her colleagues Wednesday that she does not plan on giving up her post.

“It is with both humility and confidence that I write to request your support for House Democratic Leader,” the 76-year-old wrote to her colleagues. “As of this writing, I am pleased to report the support of more than two-thirds of the Caucus.”

  • Nancy Pelosi is a lunatic just like 99% of the other Democrats. She is living in a world where sane people dare not go and it is WAY past time she retired and got some treatment for her mental issues. There’s a Nursing Home just waiting for these dried-up Democrats and their failed, Liberal policies.

hope they get rid of her she helped Trump win because most Americans hate her on second thought maybe she will help Trump even more as she turns more and more people against her

Man Democrats should have kept under wraps one election longer that they were out of the closet communists. Unfortunately like Hitler had he waited until 1945 and started his push he would have been prepared to fight a better fight on so many fronts. Thanks to Pelosi and Obama with a full sprinkle of Harry Reid they moved too soon to take over America once and for all. We now know their intentions and with all the riots and cry baby antics of their supporters who like Lenen said are useful idots, they blew it they thought Hillary was a shoe in and they could finally put the nail in the caskit for America. Now Obama with just a few days left is out in the world trying to convince people his administrations results were great, the American people think he did a good job. If that does not tell where this man’s head is you have to wonder. Narsasisistic does describe this man’s arrogance, he’s not only delusional he’s pathetically wrong. People of any sence see him as a traitor and a president who tried to take over America and almost did. Good ridence to bad rubbish.

Pelosi, you’re 76 years old you need to retire enjoy life that GOD has given you don’t be so GREEDY give that position to a younger dude’s.

As a Republican I say keep Nancy Pelosi in power. Her party has become much weaker under her leadership. It is clear she and her leadership are out of touch with America.

If I were a Democrat, they should suggest to Ms. Pelosi that the time has come for her to declare victory and gracefully pass the leadership to a younger generation. The Republicans seem to be in control of the future. Handing the House leadership to younger Democrats will allow the party to adapt to current times and to become relevant to the younger generation and its concerns.

Ryan is partially correct, but it was more than just voters in the Midwest that the Dems lost. They’ve moved so far left that they’ve lost touch with reality. Unless they course correct back towards the center, they should prepare to lose more elections. Pelosi represents the radical left and needs to be deposed.

Well, she is from the San Francisco area, probably the most liberal, crybaby and anti-American city in the USA. If Pelosi had to run in say Orange Co. or Inyo Co or any other country, she would have lost her seat long ago.

Witch one of her seven heads are you taking about ? This old hag ! Need to be eliminated and replaced by a true American Patriot.

    • Rodney Steward

You mean the Dem. party has Patriots!

  • Hammer the Bar’stewards

Pelosi should be tried for Treason and when found guilty she should be hung!

  • Jose

Wonder how much of a joke it would be on her if she is ousted by more than two-thirds of the caucus? Like in the movie except with a minor change: “if you want to die (instead of live), come with me is her battle cry.

  • Good example why term limits are probably a good idea.

  • Charles Reed

Yes keep her, she keep on giving, the Republican will have 90% control of the House in 4 years (2 elections cycles) with her great leadership.

  • Gregg Jensen

Oh yeah, the Democrats should keep Pelosi, just look at the picture of her: you can see she’s just brimming with fresh, new ideas. She’s proven herself to be an intellectual midget (ObamaCare – pass it to find out what’s in it, just like a stool/turd); she’s a joke.

Pelosi is cut from the same rag that Barabara Boxer is cut from: Ineffective, calcified placeholder installed by public employee unions. Want more of the same? Then Pelosi is the one.

Like I Said ! Remove the Medusa ! Chop off the head of the Anti American Power Hungry Back Stabbing anti Constitutional bitch.

      • Andy

Hey, I don’t like her either, but advocating killing someone is not a civilized comment.
