Trump Picks Preibus, Bannon

Rick AmatoOn Sunday President-elect Trump announced the selection of Reince Preibus and Stephen Bannon as his Chief of Staff and Chief Strategist respectively. I have personally known Stephen Bannon for roughly five to six years and with all the media noise surrounding Trump’s announcement, I felt compelled to share my thoughts with you here.

My Take

  1. Reince Preibus- Given Trump’s zero experience in government this is a very safe choice which all Americans should be relieved to see. Preibus is a Washington insider. He is part of the establishment. Both things our President-elect is not. Will he be successful? Who knows time will tell, but he is as I say, the safe choice.
  2. Stephen Bannon is being called a racist, supremacist and anti-semite by the elite media and some well-financed activist groups. I can tell you this is an outright propagandist lie. I have known Steve for roughly five to six years and have NEVER once experienced any of those traits in him.

Steve Bannon IS an anti-establishment activist. And a damn smart, effective one. The elite on BOTH the left and the right fear his selection as Trump’s Chief Strategist. Bannon’s background also includes having been a successful investment banker with Goldman Sachs where he helped raise the money for a then unknown TV show called ‘Seinfeld’.

Trump’s selection of Bannon is interesting. Trump ran as ‘outsider’ and had he picked only Preibus but not Bannon to be be his top advisor then he risked losing credibility with his loyal supporters. Bannon, himself, can sometimes be difficult to get along with as I know first hand only too well. Bannon and Preibus may lock horns given their differences. Or they may complement each other. Time will tell. But Steve Bannon is NOT those things that he is now being strategically portrayed as by those in the media and elite on the left / right.
