Trump Schedules Competing MSNBC Town Hall Opposite Cruz, Rubio CNN Town Hall

by
February 17, 2016

In yet another aggressive move that will thrill Trump supporters, late Tuesday morning, Jesse Rodriguez, Senior Producer of MSNBC’s “Morning Joe,” announced a town hall event with Republican frontrunner Donald Trump that will take place Wednesday night at 8 p.m. The night will be hosted by Joe Scarborough and Mika Brzezinski. The MSNBC town hall will compete directly with CNN’s long-schedule town hall with Trump’s two closest competitors, Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) and Sen. Marco Rubio (R-FL).

On Trump’s part, the competing town hall is obviously yet another one of The Donald’s ruthlessly effective political moves to infuriate his competitors and smother their message.

On Joe Scarborough’s part, this might be a bit of revenge against CNN. Last week, the left-wing CNN launched a series of hit-pieces against Scarborough, all of which were poorly sourced and filled with nothingburgers-disguised-as-conflicts-of-interest. I’m not fan of Scarborough or CNN, but CNN’s reporting was a joke, especially when the fact that Scarborough is an opinionator and not a journalist was not taken into consideration.

As far as Trump, unless an angry CNN now rescinds its offer, just days before voting begins in South Carolina, he will enjoy a town hall two-fer. Along with John Kasich and Jeb Bush, Trump is scheduled to appear at a Thursday night CNN town hall event.

I was not for Trump, now I am voting for him. I know he is not perfect, but who is????
I voted for Obama, he sounded great to me. What a big disappointment !!!!!

    • Mike N

Obama is a narcissist. Trump is a narcissist. They are one and the same. Trump will disappoint you as did Obama. If you voted for Obama you are probably not a conservative. If you are a conservative and want a true conservative Cruz is your man.

      • Rosa Ergas

No, I am an independent voter. I would only vote for the party, and delegate , whom I believe will stand for fairness. Fairnes to the citizens of the USA , defend the USA , no matter what he has to do, whether he likes or dislikes what he needs to do. Stand by Israel, our real ally in the Middle East. All the Muslims countries that surrounds Israel, are not real allies. Today they are with us, and tomorrow they hate us to death. No, I am not a republican nor a democrat!! I trust my common sense to vote. Made a huge mistake voting for Obama, he fooled me and many other Americans. This will not happen to me again!!!!!!

        • Mike N

You can be both a conservative and independent. Republican and conservative are synonymous; however, they should be.

  • Dave N.

Trump is a Democrat in a Republican suit, he will win the primary at all cost especially if its at someone else’s expense. If you read his multitude of positions on just about any subject he is anything but conservative. There are many indications he will not win against the Democrats, and if he does there will be little if any difference. Trump winning the GOP nomination is a Democrats dream, they win either way.

  • Eddie

All you need to know about Trump is that, of all the candidates at the last debate, Trump was the ONLY one who did NOT bow his head in tribute to the late Supreme Court Justice Antonin Scalia. This shows what a piece of dreck Trump really is.

  • Jim Lockwood

There he goes again trying to steal the spotlight which he’s more interested in than healing our ailing nation!

  • paulyz

Trump knows how do accomplish things that the politicians are good at just talking about! He will be a very effective Leader, experienced, forceful, and not-bought-off by anyone. He is Conservative on the most important issues, Fair Trade, Immigration, the Economy, SCOTUS picks, our National Defense, and 2nd. Amendment. Lot of lies about Trump to bring him down by the Establishment, but the People want him by the MILLIONS!!!

    • Mike N

They are not lies by the people. His past proves it. He is a narcissist that has been able to deceive the masses. This is for those that have an open mind:

In 1999 Trump was pro choice. In his 2000 book Trump said that he favored an assault weapon ban and a longer waiting period to purchase firearms. In 1999 he said that he believed in universal healthcare. He donated to Hillary as late as 2007. He has changed political affiliations several times. He was a Democrat as late as 2009. In 2010, Trump gave more than $100,000 to Democrats to defeat Republicans who wanted to roll back Obamacare. In 2014, as conservatives battled incumbent Republicans, Trump funded the Republican establishment to help them stop the conservatives. In Kentucky, for example, Trump funded Mitch McConnell against conservative Matt Bevin.

      • Jerry

OH, Well, one thing for sure is he is pro-America. I think he will do great things for this country. He may not be perfect. He may have flip flopped on some things, but I believe he will bring back jobs. He will send the illegals back. This alone will create millions of jobs and cut down welfare.
His ego is so big that he has to succeed. He will not allow himself to fail. He will brag about it and his bragging will be cheered on my by us who believed in him.

        • Mike N

Don’t bet on it. Narcissist do what is best for them. He is pro ethanol. That is good for the industry, but not good for the users. I want someone who will fight big government and government regulations.

          • Jerry

Mike, who would you want to fight government and government regulations. Someone who has only work in government, or someone who has had to fight and buy government officials. Someone in Trump shoes knows what all the bullshit you have to go through with government and over regulations, not to forget a very complex and crocked tax system. I do not like the Ethanol thing, but I believe that Trump when elected will listen to the voice of the people.
            We will see…

          • Mike N

Jerry I would want someone who has proven that he would fight big government and Government regulations and says that he will do as President. Cruz has lost friends in the Senate because he does not follow the crowd. He tried to get rid of Obamacare, but got no support. He stopped amnesty with a poison pill. He said that he will get rid of subsidies. Trump is all talk. He has been a democrat, independent and now a Republican. He favored single payer health care. Why would you believe anything he says.

          • Jerry

I would like to agree with you Mike, and I do agree with you to the extent that I like Cruz, however, Cruz was at odds with both sides of the aisle. Trump gets along with everyone on both sides of the aisle. This is what I believe it would take for major changes to be made.
I think that the existing politicians just plain oppose each other based on party affiliations. We haven’t been able to get pass that for decades. I think Trump would prevail with both parties and get major things done.

Thanks for giving me your opinion. We will see…

          • Mike N

Jerry I guess that is where I differ from you. I don’t want someone that will get along. GW tried it and it didn’t work. I want someone who has the courage to change the system. That is one of the problems I have with Rubio. He wants to Unite the party. I don’t want a united party. I want a changed party. Uniting means compromising and in politics compromising means capitulating. That is why I am solidly for Cruz. He has always stood for principal. I don’t agree with everything he has done, but I believe he has done it for the right reasons. The fact that Cruz wants to get rid of all subsidies especially to the ethanol industry and was willing to declare this in Iowa tells me he is sincere. He was the only one to state that stance. I have partnerships in a couple of oil wells and getting rid of subsidies will hurt me, but it is the right thing to do. Trump has been all over the place in his recent history. He specifically stated that he favored the RFL. There is absolutely no reason for this other than to get votes. I want someone with principal that I can trust. You sound like a reasonable person and I respect your reasons. We just disagree. I feel this is the most important election in our lifetime. If we get a liberal in office our country is doomed. He/she will be selecting at least two judges. If liberal judges who do not rule by the constitution, but make laws we will have more things like gay marriage. Men using women’s showers, Christians being persecuted, racial strife etc. When the moral fiber or our country is gone our country is gone. I don’t trust Trump. Like I said he has been all over the place. People change, but he has been back and forth. I was raised in a democrat family. My mom was a democrat until the day she died. I changed during time from a liberal to a strong Christian conservative. As I aged I learned. I didn’t go backwards as Trump has. He has had liberal ideas and supported liberals when he should have been old enough and wise enough to know the folly of liberalism. He has admitted that he has done what he had to for his business even if it was not good for our country. He is not a changed man. He is a narcissist who will do what ever he wants for his own good–even if it is for his own glory. Don’t trust him!! I supported a narcissist for commissioner where I lived. He acted just like Trump. When he lost the primary he supported the democrat. This made a fool of me. I learned my lesson. I will never support a narcissist again because the only thing that is important is them. Look at our current President. I don’t recognize our country now and are on the downhill slide. Unless we get a President that will stop this there will be no turning back. We cannot keep going on this path period. Right now Cruz is the only person I trust. Unfortunately everyone is trying to destroy him.

          • Jerry

Mike, tomorrow will make or break Cruz. I will stick with Trump. If Cruz tried to be as steadfast as President as he has been in the Senate he will be an island in the middle of a sea of special interest opposed on all sides There is no way any man could survive that physically, or mentally.
Ideally, we would be better off with Trump/Cruz for at least four years. Trump at his age and with his money will most likely retire in four years if the pressure doesn’t get him before that.

Can we just agree to disagree and wait to see what happens tomorrow.

            Good talking with you Mike…

          • Mike N

I agree to disagree. I like having civil differences. We all have our own views and I respect that.

          • bernie

I was brought up in a Democrat home , although they would sometimes vote for the ” Man”. When I was older, I started voting Republican. Now , I am older and will probably vote Independent after this Election, depending on the results. I am so sick of the Republican Elites, or whatever they are, I am ready to quit them for good. They are not fooling anyone with their traitorous ways. They are only getting worse, so it doesn’t give much hope that they will change their ways.

          • Jerry

I think Trump will go with the will of the people once elected.

          • Mike N

Never Trust a narcissist. Trump’s past shows that he is Trump first country second.
            http://home.wavecable.com/~mtnavarre/page12.html

          • Jerry

You are right Mike when it comes to Trump business. As President however I think it will be America first the rest of the world second.
            Let’s hope for the best.

          • Mike N

I hope what you say is true; however, I would never put my country at risk for a business venture. I might invest against what is best for our country (such as shorting the DOW) knowing that it is headed in the wrong direction, but I would never do anything that assist it. That is a character flaw that Trump has and I consider that a major flaw.

        • Rosa Ergas

I think, he is somewhat similar to Obama. He will do whatever his heart desires!!!!!! Not caring much what is good for America!!!!! I am not so sure he will be a good president, if elected. I used to think he would be a good president, now I don’t think he would be.

          • Jerry

Rosa, the current president and all of the candidates on both sides except Donald Trump are owned by big banks, corporations, or billionaires. Trump is his own man. He may let us down or he may make this country great again. We the people owe ourselves this chance. Otherwise it will be more of the same. Remember, if Trump is elected we have a chance at a fresh start. If any of the others are elected the corporations and the banks will continue to ruin this country in favor of their profit. The elected politicians they owned are just puppets for them. They don’t run anything. They just follow orders from the money changers.

          • Rosa Ergas

I gree with you, Trump is his own man, to the EXTEND of the word. Again, I will vote for him, because I do not care for any of the other candidates, but Kasish , and he will not make it. I hope you are right, and the USA will be what it used to be!!!!!! Again, G d bless and protects this beautiful, amazing country !!!!!!!!

  • donl

Donald needs to be a little more Diplomatic. Sometimes he sounds like a damn Democrat. ( No Class ).

    • psychosally

he is an aggressive ,successful business man who fights to win,in spite of everything being thrown at him by rinos, dems and media

      • Mike N

He may be a successful business man, but starting with 200 mil sure helps. He has also gotten ahead by stepping on people. He is not a nice man.
        The real Donald Trump:
        http://home.wavecable.com/~mtnavarre/page12.html
        He is not a conservative.

    • Jerry

He is fiscally conservative and a moderate for human rights. A perfect combination.

    • Rosa Ergas

Trump sounds like a tv, not well educated actor. But I don’t think this is his real personality. He wanted to be outstanding, among all the candidates, as soon as possible, and this was the way, which by the way worked. I am still considering him for my vote, but truly I think Kasich would be a great president. As I said before, I voted for Obama, and I don’t want to make this kind of mistake again. I am taking my time to hear, read, think, and then I will make my choice. What I do know, my vote will not go to Clinton, Sanders or Cruz.
