A coalition of conservatives have joined together for a social media campaign with one clear goal — to compel the White House and Congress to investigate and reveal the events of Sept. 11, 2012, that left four Americans dead in Benghazi, Libya.
Former Florida Rep. Allen West, speaking for the coalition, said in a statement to Breitbart.com: “As we begin our march to honor the four Americans who lost their lives on [Sept. 11, 2012] in Benghazi, let us never forget some ran to the sound of guns, while others ran to bed.â€
The social media campaign asks supporters to visit the website, RememberBenghazi4.com, and through that site, place a tiny image of a ribbon in the avatar space on their Twitter and Facebook accounts — a “Twibbon,†to rally around the cause.
The four Americans who died during that attack were: U.S. Ambassador J. Christopher Stevens; information management officer Sean Smith; and two security officers who were former Navy SEALs, Tyrone Woods and Glen Doherty.
The members of the group said supporters could also add the special hashtag, #Benghazi, to their social media accounts.
A press release from the coalition said: “To this day, Congress and the media have failed to hold the Obama administration fully accountable for its failures leading up to, during and after this deadly assault. The administration’s perpetually changing narrative deserves merciless scrutiny, and President Obama must be held accountable for what he has cynically dismissed as a ‘phony’ scandal.â€
