Democrats seek relief from health law penalties

February 16, 2015
WASHINGTON — The official sign-up season for President Barack Obama’s health care law may be over, but leading congressional Democrats say millions of Americans facing new tax penalties deserve a second chance.

Three senior House members told The Associated Press that they plan to strongly urge the administration to grant a special sign-up opportunity for uninsured taxpayers who will be facing fines under the law for the first time this year.

The three are Michigan’s Sander Levin, the ranking Democrat on the Ways and Means Committee, and Democratic Reps. Jim McDermott of Washington, and Lloyd Doggett of Texas. All worked to help steer Obama’s law through rancorous congressional debates from 2009-2010.

This should never been law. The government needs to mind there own business when comes to healthcare, cause it is nowhere near affordable. This nothing but a sure way to make Americans to get into the poor house and the rich richer. This government is nothing but money hungry. Doesn’t this make a person wonder why it is law in the first place

They should be told to pound sand. They repeated the great lies about Obamacare and they voted for it. Let them man up and face the music. I hope they all lose by huge landslides in 2016.

Seems to me that the people who did not sign up just didn’t want to. Giving them more time will not work. The penalties they will have to pay are far less expensive that the cost of the insurance.

Isn’t it about time democrats start living with the stupid laws they create? At least they are afraid of the backlash they’ll endure when people finally figure out how the democrats lied and how it will cost them. Won’t be pretty.
