Akayed Ullah, 27, set off the “effectively low-tech device” in a subway passageway just before 7:30 a.m., New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo said in a news conference. Ullah, who lived in Brooklyn, suffered burns and wounds to his abdomen and hands and appeared to be the only person seriously injured in the pipe bomb explosion, authorities said.

At least three other people suffered minor injuries, including ringing in the ears and headaches. They are in stable condition and expected to be released later Monday, the hospital said in a statement to Fox News.

“This is New York, the reality is that we are a target by many who would like to make a statement against democracy, against freedom,” Cuomo said.

Morton: Have his family pay his medical bills or just let him die. Then deport those who sponsored him. Cuomo is a phony, and the mayor is worse! They depend on police and other first responders to risk their lives because of the immigration weakness that these two phonies promote by their actions. Their policies and politics put their citizens, their cops and other first responders in jeopardy EVERY DAY. God forgive their hypocrisy. Bill Horgan

Suspect? Not an ‘alleged’ suspect? Gee, who are the others trying to ‘make a statement against democracy’? And who will be paying his medical bills?

I’ll but the rope if they hang him.
