President Trump took a shot Thursday at the Republican’s stopgap spending bill to keep the government open, saying it shouldn’t include funding for the Children’s Health Insurance Program.

“CHIP should be part of a long term solution, not a 30 Day, or short term, extension!” the president tweeted.

House Republicans included funding for the popular low-cost health program for children to put more pressure on Democrats to back the bill ahead of a shutdown deadline Friday.

Mr. Trump has called for a “clean” spending bill that keeps the government open for several weeks while lawmakers negotiate a full-year budget and a fix to the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals or DACA program that provides temporary deportation amnesty for “Dreamers.”

Term limits would help. There are a large number of swamp people on both sides that need to go.

THE DO NOTHING SENATE SHOLD PASS A BILL THAT MAKES 51% OF ANY VOTE THE LAW AND FORGET THIS 60 VOTE CRAP WHERE ONE OR TWO CAN HOLD THE REST HOSTAGE. REPUBLICANS HAVE CONTROL AND IF THEY DO NOT STOP THIS IN FIGHTING AND START WORKING FOR AMERICA, THEN I AM FOR THE ARMY TAKING OVER WITH TRUMP AS THEIR LEADER. I AM FED UP THIS THE SUPID, (MOSTLY ATTORNEYS) IN WASHINGTON THAT KNOW NOTHING ABOUT BUSINESS OR HOW TO RUN ONE.

Great idea and while we are at it we should get rid of the electoral college, the person with the most vote wins. Make it retroactive to 2016. It’s a government, not a business and it’s not run the same way. Businesses are dictatorships, not democracies.

      1. Pete says:

If you can convince two thirds of the state legislatures to approve a Constitutional amendment to do away with the Electoral College then you may have your wish except for retroactive to 2016. The Constitution also prevents retroactive amendments.
That may have to wait for several years since two thirds of the state legislatures are in the hands of the GOP

If you do away with the electoral college you will have a gov’t dictated by the loony left that populates the big cities on either coast. If you want to see America destroyed, that’s the way to do it.

      2. Pete says:

That pipe dream is a long way off since there would have to be a Constitutional amendment to change how we elect presidents.
