Cruz: Texans ask me to sign ‘Green Eggs and Ham’

October 30, 2013

Since reading “Green Eggs and Ham” during his more than 21-hour speech on the Senate floor, Sen. Ted Cruz says he’s become simply surrounded by all things Dr. Seuss.

Between attacks on ObamaCare, the Texas Republican famously read the children’s classic to his two young daughters last month.

The real Dr. Seuss (aka Theodor Seuss Geisel) passed away in 1991, but now the lawmaker is treated like rhyming royalty, being asked to dole out autographs on the author’s items.

“I have had a number of Texans who’ve asked me to sign ‘Green Eggs and Ham,’ Cruz, 42, told The Hill.

And the Seuss-related fandom doesn’t end with books — it even extends to baked goods.
